Ian and helga go south !!

Right I've just been and done what I thought was a good move! Just driven into Gibraltar and got through in 30 secs. No traffic. Garage 1 on immediate right as you go in is open 24 hrs 58.8 p per litre ! Filled her up for just over 32 quid. Bargain. Turned straight round and came out no checks or worries ! So the later at night you can go. The easier it is!! There's a little tip for you all. !! It feels so good to payback something !!! Lol. See you tomorrow when I'm in Cadiz!! Xx

Not just you Ian! Twice I have moved motorhome at home and forgot had electric hook connected. And once left a site in France looked in mirror and thought bloody hell there's a 25m orange snake following me.
Lucky I was the only one on site so I didn't look quite such a Pratt.
 
I knew I couldn't be the only one!!! Lol. I bet little things like that happen to lots of us !! Just that I don't mind telling people!!! Lol. ( I will prob regret it all later) lol.

I have a bug out list which includes disconnecting the EHU, closing vents, etc etc which I find v.useful

Me too. We have a packing list and a pre-flight check list, internal and external. Generally I do the internal and he does external then we check what the other has done.

My list says "final external visual check, walk all round the van" which I hope would have alerted one or other of us to the line. I've seen too many chairs left behind on sites :) Not done that - yet!
 
i know somebody that left their dog behind and drove 20+ miles before they realised. they drove back and there was the dog sitting patiently tied to a tree on the pitch. poor little soul

Pull in for a brew and watch the ships that come through the Straits.
 
We watched FIL drive off while still hooked up years ago, wow, those cables don't half fly about! No harm done though thankfully :LOL:

I got one of them but decided it was useless after I drove off the front of the ramps and nearly bit me tongue off !!! ( and it was this morning!! I just decided not to thay !! ). Lol

Yes it was a schoolboy error j, I walked round the n
Van checked everything was OK ! Unhooked electrics etc went in and paid. Said goodbye, got in helga and drove off !! Nearly shit myself I thought a tree or something had come down on me!! And took a lump out of my tongue!! Bled for ages it did !! When I thought about it I wasn't at all surprised. The blocks were under the rear wheels on the inside tyres !! ( there was a lot of mud In front of other two) Twin rear wheel is helga !! Now I'm gonna get slaughtered for admitting it !! Lol.
 
Just for future reference Ian a spoonful of sugar will stop your tongue bleeding pretty quickly. We used to give that to the girls when they were little and did that.
 
Well I'm hoping it won't happen again t ! But I've never heard that. Cheers !! Bloody sore though!!

I have this mental image of our bungalow following us down the road. Come close a couple of times but otherwise OK.
 
I left the electric plugged in once when I had to rush to a 24hr vet after my dog had an alergic reaction to a jab.

I wasn't too bothered about the cable but there had been kids playing on the site and I had visions of dead bodies scattered around my sparking cable laying on the grass.

Luckily it tripped the breaker and all was well, no dead children to have to explain away and the dog made a speedy recovery! :)
 
Ok well I hope it's a good morning for all of you ? I on the other hand now have a dilemma !!!!!

Woke up a couple of hours ago, went to put heating , water on. Nothing !! I have left it, tried it, left it, tried it !! So my dilemma is. Do I continue and hopefully find with your help a Motorhome/ caravan Service place or do I turn back for elche sevice centre ?? Or even uk ???

When I turn system on I can hear electric working but the boiler is not igniting ? Also the water is not coming out of tap properly? Very slow and sporadic ?

I'm sure someone said there was a place in Portugal so I will look at back posts. But any and all recommendations will be gratefully received !! X.

By the way I am near Gibraltar !!

I would check you have fresh water and it hasn't been dumped, then have a look for a filter, which might be near the water pump. Ours can be dismantled and cleaned.

D k. I'm not gonna touch anything mate. The electrics seem fine but gas isn't !! I'd only do more damage poking about !! Cheers.

Ok I have just been on the phone to elche caravans and they have another show and no workshop for at least 2 more weeks !! Just my luck I guess!!
So I am now looking for another place that can do a gas service and sort it out !! But it def is the gas !! I think! Lol
