Afternoon, I just got back from a long walk and a good look round charlton he's tons castle!! Brilliant, great views, lots of history, them Templar knights were lads weren't they?? Anyway took a couple of pics, hope there ok !! Now just chilling in helga, going to put co ords on sat nav re auto gas from sue, (thank you for clearing that up sue) and having one of the few remaining Yorkshire tea bags I have left! ( that bloody hippy Jo liked em). !!!! I think I may peg the last few outside and reuse? Had a nice coffee, got a couple of straps from ferrateria but no tables and chairs I'm afraid. I have decided to leave here tomorrow for wherever( maybe that beach if I get co ordinates right!! But I am going to backtrack a bit because I was told that just passed benicarlo is a big Carrefour that does camping stuff so I will go there first, and hopefully I will find the repsol garage I passed for gas! Bonus. I will be emptying out cassette and grey water tank for the first time in public so I hope that goes ok, and I will too up with water too! I had a walk round outside really early this morning and I passed an awning that had a blow air heater running, no one up just burning site electric, I thought that was a pisstake! Then guess what I looked at the motor in front and yes it has British plates,, what is it about people abusing something you get for free or at least very cheap?? Oh yes saw the woman from the laundrette contest on my way back, I smiled politely and in my best French said. Bonjour Madame. Sava? Not a flicker, her eyes burnt holes in my face like superman vision!! Still you can't please everyone!! I had a really nice coffee today but it did make me think I could do with one of them!   • Have very good memory's of Peniscola when I was young free and single! One of my friends entered the bull fight they have on the beach and did very well...He was hailed a hero in every bar we went into after that.. he was even then a near alcoholic so that helped!:)
 
Hi IAN. Most of these towns have Chinese Bazar's where you can buy all manner of useful "stuff", including tables and chairs etc and awning straps and pegs and all at ridiculous prices !! So see if you can spot one or ask someone where one is..
It will pay dividends...
Enjoy and travel slowly !!
And DONT use my bloody credit card !!!! (y)(y)(y).

I was in a Chinese shop lunchtime today,,loads of tables and chairs,,,,the b........ds wouldn't sell me any though! They told me I had to just have the food like everyone else!!!!
 
If you need to stock up on Yorkshire tea they have it at Iceland in Javea. Bit more expensive than in the UK but at least it is available if you need it.(y)

Your a life saver Mike!! I think the beach I'm going to might be around there,but I don't know,,I have put Co ordinates in and I don't know where I am till I get there! Lol

Big ol Chinese bazar at the wild camping place I told you about earlier sells loads of shiiiite to be honest I love looking through them.

Loving the photos of your trip to El Cid castle the weather looks great . Laughing at the name on the coffee cup! Hope you get the Yorkshire tea bags do they taste the same with Spanish water? Spanish washer women off your friends list then?! Enjoy your next trip!:sun:

Ian, drive into Javea from the N332, you will come to an island with metal ornaments on it, carry straight on, road narrows and you will come down a steeper bit of road, Fuel station on left, keep going - serious speed bumps so take them slowly, over next island, past Mercadona on your left. Next island turn right (MacDonalds on right) over island past Solmar car rental on opposite side of dual carriageway, to next island, go round to first exit - Iceland on your right. Enjoy! (y)

Anthea,,Yorkshire tea tastes just as good with any water babe! There strong enough to override things like that!, thank God, ,,, and I would love to get my hands on a Spanish washer woman to be honest,,ooooooo all those suds !!!!
 
Morning,if you can call it that? It's about 2am here,I tried to have an early night last night,but I'm awake now having a brew and hoping to be able to kip again in an hour or so.. so I have survived my first site,had a wicked shower last night,makes a nice change not to have to run about under a dribble to get wet! I must cover 5 miles in my shower trying to wash thoroughly! It's still a bit chilly at night here though,but I suppose it is winter here too,and I do prefer it to being in UK freezing my nuts off down one hole or another!!! So I'm going to try and get to a beach tomorrow for a couple of days,it should be nice I hope? Then off to another site I think,but I will slowly work my way down to Portugal, ,apparently it's even cheaper there? Lol I will miss the plug in electric,my fridge has worked perfectly for two days here and I've got bugger all in it!! And I must say this free Internet, although sporadic is really handy for keeping in touch,, (I must get that sorted out), jo has now got a car of her own she says so that's all good ,the more she gets sorted the better she will manage,and I will keep in touch,I have an offer to go back whenever I want with is nice to know,,I liked tortosa and the people... so it's off to another place then tomorrow,,everytime imove on I feel like a new holiday has started,,I wonder if I will come across anyone who requires my services? Still in am getting to see spain and that was my main aim.. I will be leaving about 9,30 to 10 am I hope,,back to benicarlo look to do a bit of shopping at carrefour,and get some gas,hopefully,then coordinates in Tom Tom and off to the beach,,is it too cold to swim in wonder? Lol its been lovely chatting to you all while I have been here and I will check in in the morning before I leave.. I will of course get some Internet when I'm wherever I end up and I will let you know how journey and shopping went,,have a better nights sleep than me and I will see you tomorrow,,Ian XXX

Seen a few brave? souls in the sea this last week in javea and here at guardamar. I had a paddle a few days ago, its too cold to swim but certainly nice and warm enough to sit on the beach enjoying the view and the sun:gum: enjoy your next stop

Hahahaha good morning, I did sleep well in the end , I went back about 3am and woke at 7.30 no dra, it was lovely!! I have to laugh, I went into the loos earlier only to be met by a chorus of wails and grunts from at least 5 or 6 Dutch, French, German blokes all trying to evacuate their bowls. In fact it was so random and one very high pitched scream I thought they were giving berth!! Lolol. It was really funny. !! Anyway I'm off in a bit so chat soon and I hope you all have a lovely day!! Ok I need some help. Upon emptying waste just now I have found that I have a totally flat rear tyre. Im gonna have a look and think! Helga obviously doesn't want to leave!! Lol.

No spare ???? If no jack it and thumb a lift into town with the tyre ? Or get and use some tyre gunk to temporarily fill it, never used that but I think you have to leave any nail etc in there ????? Or find a garage who will come out ?
 
Hi Ian, Hope you have sorted the puncture! When you get to Carrefour nr Benicarlo you will find a Decathlon next door (worth looking for tables etc) I believe from memory there is a car shop that does tyres next door) If you go 200yds away from the main road you will find a "Chinese sell everything shop)

Hi Ian, hoping your flat tyre is all sorted, but I'm now waiting for the post on the shenanigans that I'm sure will have taken place whilst getting it sorted.

Been trying to keep up with your threads from the start but miss a couple of days and it takes another day to catch up lol. Keep up the good work.

This may have been mentioned in the past. I get the feeling your get bord very quick if not doing something with your hands but want some of the sun,beach and lifestyle as well. Have you looked at the likes of HelpX or Workaway, plenty of options around Europe to park the van up, meet people, have a good time in return for helping out a little with any skills you have. Not for everyone, but we're in the process of arranging our first one.

We got a flat in France many years ago. It was at that point that we fond the spare had been stolen at some point..... luckily some very nice people came to help jack the van up, put it on a few blocks (and yes, it was a Hymer) then take me to a tyre depot. Once one new tyre was on we took the corresponding tyre off the other side and got that changed as well. The tyre depot people were fantastic and even sourced a new spare for us from a scrap yard. Not a big crisis but a nuisance at the time.
