Hi Ian, hoping your flat tyre is all sorted, but I'm now waiting for the post on the shenanigans that I'm sure will have taken place whilst getting it sorted.

Been trying to keep up with your threads from the start but miss a couple of days and it takes another day to catch up lol. Keep up the good work.

This may have been mentioned in the past. I get the feeling your get bord very quick if not doing something with your hands but want some of the sun, beach and lifestyle as well. Have you looked at the likes of HelpX or Workaway, plenty of options around Europe to park the van up, meet people, have a good time in return for helping out a little with any skills you have. Not for everyone, but we're in the process of arranging our first one.
Keep writing.
Cheers
Shawn.

That looks very interesting thanks for sharing (y)

Hello all, well what a day!!!! Got puncture whenever? Found it about 8,30. Had a cuppa and a fag, saw the spare under helga, thought bonus, but after an hour I still couldn't get it off!! So a Frenchman, Belgian, and old Dutch bloke put there heads together and told me to ask an old boy who speaks no English if I could borrow his electrical tyre generator thingy!! Well it was hilarious, I'm flapping my arms trying to explain it was helga a wheel and he kept offering me a bike pump!! 20 mins later he got it,,, lent me the genny thing( wich I'm now going to buy ) and got tyre pumped up enough to quickly get in and do the off!! Shot passed Oscar in reception and threw some money out the window, it must have been enough cause he was jumping up and down waving his arms in the air all excitedly!! Anyway I shot up the road to benicarlo where I saw a Michelin sign, threw a hard left and drove into an empty garage,, well this bloke appeared from nowhere,, he was fantastic, but he was about 3 ft tall and not as big as helga a wheel!! He's not getting that off her I thought, but bugger me in about 20 secs he'd jacked it up, whipped it off and proceeded to put it on all sorrs of machines,, fifteen mins later all done, he checked and pumped all other tyres up, told me that ten years ago he used to deliver benimar caravans to England, he wanted to have a look round helga so I obliged, he loved her,,, I think everybody here knows hymers!!! So all done, drove off and went into garage that I was told about for lpg but discovered that I left my fitting at a garage in Bilbao! ( dick head) and the fittings he had didn't fit so now I'm looking for another ferrateria! Anyway I was going to stay on a beach but I had a change of mind, due to me wanting to make sure helga and her new shoe was ok !! So I drove here to Denia , bloody lovely day and decided to stay at another los pinos site!! It's even better than the last!! internet, electric water showers washing machines etc all for the giddy price of 12 euros a night( I must get a good rate being single) ? So I'm pitched up, all sorted, fridge hasn't stopped working for 2 days now so that's good,, oh and they said I could have post delivered here so I said I would do a week or at least 5 days, depending on post!! Oh and on the way down saw a furniture shop advertising the usual discounts, so popped in and got 1 round fold up table, I fold up chair and I chair that converts to a lounger! All for 145 euros. Really good quality, should last me all week!! Lol. So I'm pitched up, spent an hour sorting bike out and levelling van, and watching out the corner of my eye an Englishman trying and I must say succeeding in getting itv and some film channels, I was impressed!! There all sitting in this coffee bar on site I'm in now and all comparing what channels and dishes they have!! So I'm now just going to keep my eye on helga a feet and spend a few days or a week in Denia!! It looks lovely driving through and this place is right on the beach, nice Spanish running it and a lovely set up,, thanks for all comments, help re tyre this morning but as usual I struggled through and alls good now!! Spoke to my bank today and they told me what they are charging for withdrawals and purchases on debit card!! Robbin bastards they should be wearing a mask !!! So I'm here and with internet I will keep posting , I am on the look out for a bit of an adventure now or a bit of company would be nice!! ( passed a few fruity sellers but a bag of rotten oranges are more attractive!! I might weaken though if Mitch sends me his credit card details !! Lol ). Chat later, Ian and a very happy helga! Xxxx.

On the subject of obtaining Euros I have been using a Caxton card for years and I highly recommend it. Have a look at https://www.caxtonfx.com/currency-cards/why-use-a-currency-card.

As I have a house in Javea (Xabia now) I load the card when the exchange rate is favourable and draw out the money when I am in the house. You can load it by Internet or phone.
Exchange rates good, no charges and withdraw cash at any ATM.

We are booked on the los pinos site for a week, on our way north at end of Feb, will you still be there? Be nice to meet you. We have gin and tonic and lime :drinks:

Hi pat, less. .I am only going to be here for about a week, gave address to the English connection last night and now just waiting for helga v5,and a couple of other bits in the post! I don't know if you've stayed here before but I think you will like it,,it is a beautifull place, right on the beach, near town, and there looks and sounds to be loads of baits! It's a shame though because I have only met 6 people from here, and 2 were in UK! Lol have a safe journey wherever you are and end up,,I'm sure we will all catch up one day? Maybe in UK at a rally this year? ( IF I EVER GET BACK) LOL XXX

Hahaha ha no dude,,,can't work it out,,I get a few hours then I'm up and ready to go,,never happened before,,hopefully I will ,like the other night be able to go back in an hour or two? This change of lifestyle has crippled me! Lol

My mind's working overtime wondering if I've thought of everything 'cos we leave on Tuesday for 10 weeks in Spain/France. I'm always like this before a big trip. Going to read now and hope I nod off otherwise I'll be useless tomorrow (today). Night night.

Afternoon, I just got back from a long walk and a good look round charlton he's tons castle!! Brilliant, great views, lots of history, them Templar knights were lads weren't they?? Anyway took a couple of pics, hope there ok !! Now just chilling in helga, going to put co ords on sat nav re auto gas from sue, (thank you for clearing that up sue) and having one of the few remaining Yorkshire tea bags I have left! ( that bloody hippy Jo liked em). !!!! I think I may peg the last few outside and reuse? Had a nice coffee, got a couple of straps from ferrateria but no tables and chairs I'm afraid. I have decided to leave here tomorrow for wherever( maybe that beach if I get co ordinates right!! But I am going to backtrack a bit because I was told that just passed benicarlo is a big Carrefour that does camping stuff so I will go there first, and hopefully I will find the repsol garage I passed for gas! Bonus. I will be emptying out cassette and grey water tank for the first time in public so I hope that goes ok, and I will too up with water too! I had a walk round outside really early this morning and I passed an awning that had a blow air heater running, no one up just burning site electric, I thought that was a pisstake! Then guess what I looked at the motor in front and yes it has British plates,, what is it about people abusing something you get for free or at least very cheap?? Oh yes saw the woman from the laundrette contest on my way back, I smiled politely and in my best French said. Bonjour Madame. Sava? Not a flicker, her eyes burnt holes in my face like superman vision!! Still you can't please everyone!! I had a really nice coffee today but it did make me think I could do with one of them! It's been a while !! View attachment 90162View attachment 90163View attachment 90164View attachment 90165View attachment 90166View attachment 90166View attachment 90167
