Ian and helga go south !!

Ian & Helga part II?

We are on a site at guardamar Ian, some corking vans here with garages they drive their cars into and pot plants all over! Think some of them live permanently in these vans (chap opposite does).

Glad you are relaxing, were there tears when you parted? (Nosey me? )

Love Peniscola some nice little bars etc up by the castle. Restaurant by Camping Eden used to do local type stew in an earthen ware pot it was yummy can't remember what it was called though. Must go back there next trip.

Watch out Spain ...Ian and Helga are on the move!

I did feel a bit sad to leave her , bless her it's a big change for her, but no tears on my part, I can't speak for Jo! She took some pictures when I left and she will be posting on her blog, I think she wants to get it all up to date now!!

Hi Ian, Just started reading your great adventures! Brilliant read, so thanks.
If you want a few more shops to look at you can walk along the front to Benicarlo which is a bit more of a working town. Good indoor market , and a choice of supermarkets. If you don't fancy the walk (45mins) you can get a bus for 1euro.
Enjoy,
Cheers

Ian me being really nosy but just had a look at the photo with your awning out, perhaps I could not see them but you really do need it pegged down well and best to have staps as well, I have seen far to many awnings fly over the top and damage the awning and van, so worth mentioning , if you have it pegged down great. (Makes no difference if there is no wind) still really important. :)

If you like red wine and don't want to spend much try this. You can get it in 2 or 5 litre bottles, 5€ for 5 litres and it really is ok. View attachment 90055
You can get it at Mercadona which is about 5 mins from Los Pinos, the reception have maps on how to get around.
it also doubles up as Anti freeze:)(y)

Good evening , I had a lovely drive today to peniscola and it was really quite warm here!! I did as you may know some washing but that even got interesting!! After my third load a woman of dubious origin was standing outside washroom getting all arsy that I had and needed to keep going, well I'm sorry I said you can do yours now by all means,,, so she shrugged her shoulders and walked off,, ( bearing in mind no one was interested in washing anything all day) well I was about to put fourth load in (each cycle takes about an hour) and she appeared with this bag, go ahead Madame I said , my pleasure,, not so much as a Thankyou! Ok so I retreated back to helga, had a nice brew and after about an hour I went back with my bag of goodies.. She was just leaving and as I approached her mate shot out of nowhere with a bag full and hurriedly shoved it in the machine, pretending not to see me!! Ok I thought. Game on!!! Well 40 mins later I took my bag again and hid round the corner by the chemical washout dump,, I was in stealth or ninja mode !! I saw her coming to empty machine and she was shouting to another woman that she should hurry up before the English comes back!! Lol. I was too quick for her mate,, as she walked away calling her friend I nipped out the loo darted into room, stuffed machine with clothes, put money in and pushed button! I had a cheeky look outside and there was her and her mate carrying a bag for washing, she saw me and she was fuming!! I smiled politely, walked with as much dignity as I could muster, whistling god saved the queen !! They weren't happy. I'm sure I heard the words cushion and merd in there somewhere!!! Still got six loads done, worst comes to the worst and I know I'm good for at least a month without facilities now!!! I'm going to walled city tomorrow and then I think I will head for that beach in helga and stay there for a day or two!! Ian. Xx

Does anybody know if there's an lpg outlet for my tank in or near peniscola ??

Sometimes I stay on a campsite for a day or two to wash and dry everything. When in Morocco, 3 of us put washing in together and lied about having the right money so no one else would use the machine lol

We did too but there's another in Benidorm which is where we filled up. It was 68c a litre but that was a month ago so should be different now. That website should tell you the price. I have contributed a few garages.

Hi Ian,

Great reading as usual, and I'm pleased to see that you have moved on and are relaxing a bit. (y)

I am probably in a minority here, but I'd be quite happy for you to continue "blogging" your adventures on this thread, however, if you do choose to start a new thread, may I suggest that you ask @Jim to close this one down, (when it suits you of course) with a link to the new thread, and that way everyone can follow you from one thread to another, without missing a post. (y) Just a thought. ;)

Stay safe, whilst enjoying yourself. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)
