Well Ian, I'd love to have been doing much the same as you have done this winter but I need to suffer my last few years in full time employment before my adventures begin, but this thread has been the next best thing.

So thanks to you for that :clap2:

Ok Good afternoon. !

Well here we are!!!!

At the dfds ferry port in Dunkirk!!
Came in to get ticket and they put me on the 2 o'clock boat to Dover!!

I will soon be driving on British soil,, my big sticker on my dash saying 'DRIVE ON THE RIGHT '. Can be consigned to the bin!!!

Oh yes before I forget,, fags and tobacco are the same price in Spain as in Belgium,, exactly the same price, so if your in Spain, don't waste petrol going to Belgium!!

So. It's nearly over,,, it seems like just last week I was on the ferry to Bilbao!!

I wonder if I will meet a Jo baker on this one??? It would be handy cause I ain't got anywhere to go yet, when I'm home!! There are a couple of exes I could visit, but that would be dangerous and plain stupid !!! Lol.

So if your looking for a builder that can start today,, I'm your man! Lolol.

Seriously though, I don't think it's going to be as easy in the uk as it has been, in Spain, and France! Just pull up, bed down, quick brew and sleep!! We shall see!!!

I know I will miss this trip and Spain in particular,, I can't wait to go back!!!

Still I have to spoil helga first,, 7 new boots,, gas service, couole of bits and pieces,, we will get there I'm sure,,

I am going to have a good week in uk having a look round and trying to find somewhere to stay,, I have a good mate in essex( who's party I'm back for on Saturday) and I think there's lots of work in that area!!

Now I'm going to have a brew and think about title of the new thread for later today ! I have decided to keep posting if that's ok with everyone, I will miss you all too much if I don't !!! ( Jim,,, I'm addicted),,,,,,,,

Hi Ian. It won't get deleted, just disappear of the front page once you , or anyone else stops posting.
You aught to do a blog next time. Then you can add pictures and its there for ever.

don't forget to check the van over yourself for any illegals, and lock all lockers and the hab door before boarding the ferry. £2000 fine per stowaway even if you had no idea they were there. Not yet as bad at Dunkirk as it is in Calais but since you went to Spain, loads have left Calais and will be trying elsewhere

Sshhhhhh I got 4 in the loo and two in the outside locker!! £4,000 per person. ! Don't let on !!!! ( it pays for the trip) x
 
Good luck Ian, even though we didn't always agree, I was only trying to help as I would have loved to do the same as you at your age, but spending money when there's no need always grates with me, if you are ever around uttoxeter, there is plenty of room to park here for a day or two, only got to ask.

That only applies to commercials & coaches. Not private vehicles.

Only 2 more Motorhomes on here anthea!! The bar is empty, except for a few Polish lorry drivers,, banging down vodka getting ready to drive responsibly on uk roads!!! Lol

You're welcome to stay on our drive Ian on the Isle of Sheppey or there's Canterbury P&R which is fairly near to Dover - it's one of the few aires in the UK @ £3.00 per night. Fresh and waste (grey & black) available.
