It's been said before, Ian, you'd make someone a great wife :D

It makes me feel tired just reading about all that washing and cleaning you're doing. And I agree - far too many shirts!! If you ever share Helga's wardrobe space with a female companion , you'll probably have to leave behind about 90% of your clothes. Decisions, decisions..........

Good afternoon..

Nice and warm here today, not really sunny, but warm with a nice breeze,, brilliant for drying !! Lol

All shirts, tops, jeans, sheets, towels washed and dried, bed changed,bathroom scrubbed up lovely!! the only thing that needs washing now is me !!!

Going to eat early today, cause I'm drinking tonight and I can't eat and then go on the beer!!

Looking forward to a nice quiet weekend, but I know tomorrow is going to be a non event due to alcohol intake this evening!! Karaoke tonight so it should be a laugh!!

Had a nice couple of days and just been told by someone who hinted that he knows the customs laws quite well, that I can take 3 1/2 thousand cigarettes back to uk? All one brand !!
Can anyone confirm that???

Anyway I'm just sitting outside helga thinking about the canopy I want to get,, the original was thule omnistor, but I'm not bothered to be honest,, I was wondering if I could get a used one anywhere???

I think I will get new tyres as well ! The ones she has on are all good but 7 yrs old and I have been told it might be advisable to change?

I also have just been told that lpg in uk may not be about too long, due to its not being popular? Should I convert helga back to bottles? All original pipework is still in her!!!


Anyway if anyone can advice or help with above thoughts, feel free to contact me ! Oh the awning/ canopy is 4.0 mts long !! Have a good afternoon ,,,, xxxxxx

Ahhh but Karen I maybe quite comfortable wearing her clothes as well !!!
 
Ian think you might have a bit of a problem bring that many fags back! You do need to be able to prove that they are for your own use and no idea how the hell you'd manage to prove that! Suppose you could hide them all over the van, LOL (inside your shirts, maybe;)).

I wouldn't take any notice of the scaremongering about LPG in the UK, there are still plenty of places you can get it without problems.

That 3500 cigarette rule is out of date.

From memory you have to prove that any quantity over 800 ( I think) are for your own personal use.

I tend to keep it at about 2000, but I haven't been stopped because my wife looks honest.

Has anyone been checked for fags or wine? We certainly havnt in maybe twenty trips.

I have only ever been stopped on the way out of the country, never coming back in.

Well I reckon I was,we went to a berni inn, (remember them?) had a steak, jacket potato & green beans followed by a Cointreau coffee. :)

Well good evening,

I have had another nice day today, it's a pleasent sunny evening and I'm looking forward to a beer or two,,,

Done all I need inside helga now, so the outside can wait till Monday!!

I have no idea why I plugged tv in though, nothing but crap on!! Even the news is depressing!! I tell you, it's like living in a little bubble here! Seems like a different world!!!! I'm not sure I'm going to enjoy the real one !!

I hope all the funsters are enjoying Peterborough, and I really hope the weather is ok for them all !! I must say I'm looking forward to going to the thetford bash, but I'm also really looking forward to going to and seeing a big Motorhome show!!!!!

So now I have to iron a shirt, for tonight, and sort out jeans etc!!
So I hope you all have a lovely night, weekend, and I will hopefully chat soon !! Enjoy !! Xxxx
 
Ian whatever amount you return with ,just make sure that you get a receipt as if stopped then you can prove that the duty /tax was paid where purchased,
.
 
You better check what you are allowed to take through France. I know they are particular on the amount of wine but with ciggies, not sure, hopefully someone on here will know.
 
Oh, by the way, I was looking on eBay uk today( first time since I left) and I was looking at canopies for helga,, couple of dealers selling them and I think there cheaper there than here in Spain !! And they all have them in stock !!! Bonus ,,,

Some Spanish channels show English and American films but with Spanish diologue. You can usually go into the menu on tv and change the Spanish to English,,Have a good evening Ian,,,BUSBY.
 
We were stopped at a roadside check in France about 50 miles from the border. When I said we were on our way home from Spain they asked if we had any alcohol or cigarettes with us. Neither of us smoke and I said we don't have any wine because we prefer to buy French. She smiled and waved us on. No idea what they might have done if we had been carrying anything.
 
Best thing you can do is follow an eastern European van home, customs love them, always something of interest for them there!

Good morning,,

Well that's a turn up,, had a few beers last night, tasted lovely but absolutely no effect whatever! Home and in bed by 12,30!!!!!

Now that has messed my plans up for today!! I was expecting to not be in a fit state of repair!!

So I may start on the outside of helga later,, I may not of course, I might just have the weekend off and start Monday as planned!!!

Singers were quite good though, lot of old ballads and I think plenty of memories were flooding back for some of them, lol

Weather looks ok now, bit early to tell but not cold and I think sun will be out later!!

How did all the funsters get on at the Peterborough show last night, I wonder? Was the weather ok??

Ahhh here she comes,, the sun is shining on the mountain behind me,, I think it's gonna be a beautiful day!!!

I was thinking about that last night mate,, it's going to be weird I think, I havnt given it much thought otherwise, as long as I get some work and I can find a place to stay in helga all will be ok! That's why I got bbc news on though, to acclimatise myself to uk! Lol

I have hopefully missed all the bad weather!! But I am looking forward in a strange way to being on uk soil!!!

Plus bits for helga don't seem such a struggle to get there I think!! Xx
