Ian and helga go south !!

No idea what that Essen stuff was, but at least I know how to clean my sink and waste tank now! :clap2:

I don't think it should be for others to comment on how you spend your money, I appreciate the information you give us, as it may well help for the future, but keep my thoughts to myself.

All I would say is it might be worth having a pot for absolute emergencies, separate from the rest, in case Helga has a major problem for instance.

Otherwise, whatever people think, most would rather be doing what you are doing if they aren't already!

Just been up to reception and paid for another weeks stay, result!! Don't leave now till 21st,, that gives me 8 days to get to Dunkirk!!

I feel really chilled here, not bad eh for someone who thought he didn't like Benidorm in the first place!!

I think the secret for me is a nice site, away from town, then I can go in if I want or avoid for however long I want!!

So I will say I'm comfy here, nice site, people, facilities and pure madness up the road if I wish to partake !! Xxx

I may sound a bit stupid oneman, and I may well be sometimes, but I will always have a pot available ( I hope)
If I can get home, get sorted, get working with £10,000 left, that will be my pot , that will then be forgotten about and only used in pure emergencies!! Such as my daughter needing new shoes, handbag, trainers for the kids, food, household bills, holidays for them, nights out, drink, drugs and tattoos!! Like I said. Real emergencies!!!! Lol. You have to know that not long ago I lived a traditional lifestyle, cars, mortgage, family, bills etc and I always had to have a quid for emergencies, nothing has changed in that respect mate!! Xx

And paying for the 2 weeks here on a weekly basis is nearly the same cost for 2 weeks that a month would be next year!! So I know I'm gonna save this winter coming !! Xx

Thats the reason we paid for a month on la torretta. €15 a night instead of €31 a night. We did the same as you quiet site but near in town. If you want it that way . Lovely beaches. Cheap food and drink. We love benidorm.

Is that a site that gets full over the winter months? You might want to book December now!

Right while I remember!!!

Upon returning back to uk I have something to do over the weekend. But from the Tuesday ( 3rd may I think it is) I have a good week or so of time to get some things done on helga! I will post a list below and perhaps you could tell me if you would recommend a workshop, person etc who could do these for us ??

New 4.0 mtre Thule omnistor canopy/ awning...( hopefully fitting on exsisting bracket)
New kitchen mixer tap....
Gas service....
Couple of window latches ( I have originals) ....
I new window blind
New vent covers ( old ones are good but ageing in colour)
Removal of old sat dish from roof and old tech from inside!!
And finally. I have a few bits on helga I know nothing about, so I would like these explaining to me, if poss,,

I don't care where I go but bear in mind I would like to stay in her or in B and B close,, Cheers all. Xxxx
There is a man on the isle of Sheppey who does camper vans and he runs the campsite as well in queenborough. You can stay on site in van while he does repairs as his workshop is on the campsite. Let me know if you need his number. There is also a lot of wild camping in this area if you wanted to stay out of the campsite

Ahhh. Good point, reckless. But I will get into France and Germany before I come back here!!! I won't commit to arrival date here till I have seen a bit more ,,, now as for Germany,, I would like to see the Christmas markets etc so I may do that obviously next winter, but France is a different story!!! I would like to take my time with France, so I will sort that as a completely seperate adventure,, I have nothing but time now mate, so I'm not in a rush reckless!!

I am looking foreward to doing most of Europe but I don't have to do it all at once!!! I think over the next 3/4 years I will se what I want to !!!

If work goes well for me in May, June, July, August, sept. I will get away till end April 2017 If I can afford it!!

Oh and one more thing ,, I don't mind sitting on a site on my own for a few months. But if I travelled round France, Germany etc I think it would be nicer and better to have some company !!!

Do they have fruity sellers in France? Xxx.

I am not going to start on your money again , but we had this acsi card last year and to be honest didn't use it much but a couple of the sites we went on , I could have got the same price by just asking, now we are considering buying it again but to be honest we have the books from last year so don't really need them again, so even though it's only £15 don't know whether to bother, is the camp you are on now in it, and could you have saved if it is?

That's exactly my thinking, thanks, for once we totally agree(y):), the books are worth the money on their own as you say, just to see where the camps are, although we don't use camps apart from when we need a washer and empty and refill, so will stick to our old ones then, cheers.

I got my money back and a bit more on my 2016 ACSI card so it was worth it in the end. But I found Spanish/Portugese/french municipal sites/aires much cheaper anyway.

@Ian

If (when) you decide to come home and if you come up the A20 in france you might want to consider a day or so here

its not far off off the main A20

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...m2!3m1!1s0x12acc17ff21cbcf1:0x406f69c2f3fcd90

The owners are English ( Stuart & Sheigla Coe) they built the site from scatch about 3o years ago, Stuart was a builder so you will be able to swap stories, I havnt seen them for a a few years, so if you do drop in on them, tell them the "aliens" say helloo....

acsi is great but you can also wild camp out of season with no problem,i have been living my dream now for the past year, the most expensive time is now because im in the uk,spain or benidorm in fact are so cheap with the pound changed for the euro its a dream come true,i have enough money to live great and its topped up each month by a small pension and rent from some apartments i bought in benidorm, now of this could happen here in the uk

That's probably why you don't think it's worth getting it. For those who mainly use sites, and move around a lot, it is invaluable. Just staying on a couple of sites for a couple of days pays for it.

Wasn't knocking it, as I said it's excellent value just for the books, but one site we stayed at they actually had a board outside with the prices on , less than the book!

Yes ,too cold in Germany in many places. Where my brother lived it used to get to -20º & a metre or more of snow. Roads usually cleared though even in the small village he lived in.

That why there are so many Germans in Portugal and Spain.
