What is the point of a 'green' or'amber' zone of you have to have the same tests when returning?

It's a massive rip off. Friends flew Faro to UK on Tuesday this week, green zone. Paid €20 each for pre departure tests. Had to pre book day 2 tests in UK, cost £130 for two. Got home, cancelled their day 2 tests and got a full refund, and instead collected the free NHS tests, exactly the same test, which they've done and submitted!! That's how to get round this rip off system.Why are there tests for anyone returning from a green zone?

We have a saying ! "Un seul être vous manque et tout est dépeuplé" which gives "you're missing only one person and the entire world is empty". ...In other words : one person is not nice to you, and you feel everyone is against you. That's one way to react, apparently a negative one.
Also (I think of Jim here) you have a hell of a time because your child is very ill, and all the rest seems ridiculously insignificant. That's the positive way to react. You don't really choose. You just react depending on what you're going through (or not).
Pam (spitfire ) is very protective of me, and I like her very much, she is very sweet and... very helpfull to the community!

Vat is zero rated if the test is administered by a registered Nurse but if they are self swabs than Vat is applied. HMRC are reviewing but they are not treated as medicines.

It's not a holiday. They are Brits, flown back to see his dying brother.
Then the question to be asked is what were they doing over there? When did they go? What did they go for? etc. Along with the ones not uk citizens granted visas to enter to " visit my sister" etc; whole lot is shambolic. & there we are detaining & finger printing legally entitled eu citizens whilst no one wants to sort out the elephant.But majority are British citizens..BUSBY.
