Anybody having problems with the app ?
I received 2 x 105AH Fogstar Drifts today.
I down loaded the app on to my phone but no matter what I do my phone just searches and searches and doesn't connect.
I have also down loaded the app on to my tablet but that won't connect either.
I have Bluetooth and location turned on on both devices and have uninstalled and re-installed the app several times on both devices but still no joy.
I can connect to other devices via Bluetooth no problem.

Solution2
Due to slight differences in resistances due to manufacture and even temperature, and electricity always takes the path of least resistance there will inevitably be one battery that drops quicker them the other my two Aolithium batteries rarely discharge at exactly the same rate there is always a slight difference, but not enough to cause me any concern.
According to the app only 1 battery at a time is discharging.
I put a 5amp load on the system and 1 battery showed it had a 5amp load on it and the other battery showed no load on it.
I would have expected both batteries to have shown about a 2.5amp load on each ?
Batt 1 always shows that it’s lower than 2 and i’ve no idea why, they are wired in parallel so imho should discharge equally
Are all live feeds coming off one battery and earth off the other?

Or, do you have the lives and earths connected to one battery which is then connected in parallel to the other batter?

Bit of an unfair statement the batteries are fit for purpose as stated by several folk on this thread
perhaps the Android app needs a little adjustment but that does not justify criticising Fogstar particularly if you haven’t tried one🤔😊

Not unfair at all.. I’m sure headlight would have agreed yesterday and maybe the others on this thread who have had some minor problems….
If you pay out a few hundred pounds and unwrapped your new toys you would hope they work as they should.. yes..🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s nice to see Fogstar have signed up to this forum I’m sure they will get better feedback and reviews from honest funsters then the YouTube freebie brigade wanting stuff for a good review….

In addition I have iPhone so perhaps I wouldn’t have any problems with the batteries… if FogStar want to send me one I’ll find out and give a truly honest answer…😆😎

I am glad the YouTuber doing the strip down wasn’t doing it in my kitchen. At one point it looked like his electric saw was heading for it’s own power flex and leaving the live terminals on the cut off top swinging around with his metal tools looked a little risky too. Not sure he had read his own warning about batteries being dangerous.

This is my BMS app results at the minute compared to the shunt figures which are way out but when away using the van and cycling the battery more and hitting full charge most days the BMS and shunt reading are pretty close as they both reset at 100% much more frequently.

Not the same inside, ours are better. We're the only manufacturer that deals with the prismatic cell manufacturer directly. It is true, that we have to use a Bluetooth Low Energy module, whereas Victron etc do not have to use these, they can use normal Bluetooth modules. Power consideration doesn't have to be a factor for device retailers, it does for us. We can't have a module that uses a lot of power, if we did, customers would be coming back to their motorhomes after winter to a dead battery.
i am sorry but a higher energy BT module would take weeks and weeks to drain a large lithium battery. we are not on about a 100ah lead acid here.

How much current does a low energy module draw compared to a high energy one? Presumably there is enough difference for Fogstar to think it helpful. The prime purpose of a battery is to store energy not use it.

Seems most are happy with their FogStar batteries but quite a few comments and difficulties with the app, the app is an integral part of the battery so for me as I stated before it’s not fit for purpose with the current app… let’s hope they sort a better app otherwise is a different lithium battery for me…..😎

You do go on Garry most BMS Bluetooth can be iffy not a problem just fit a Victron shunt which most people with any sense do.

IMHO the app is not bad enough to not get the batteries. Other apps work just fine on it, just not 100% with the Fogstar app and android devices. Rather have a poor app and a great battery than the other way around.

Have you cleared the page on your phone ? I have an iPhone and I just flick up each page till there all disappear. Then my apps work better then just scan again

Yes I have.
I've done everything I can think of, everything suggested on here and everything suggested by Fogstar.
I'm away for the weekend but before I left I uninstalled the app from both my phone and tablet, turned off Bluetooth and 'forget' all devices, when I get back home on Monday I will reinstall the app and try again.

It’s the crap Android phones that seem to be problematic Mike
I've always had Android devices and never had a problem.
All Bluetooth apps have worked fine.
This is the first and only time I've had a problem.
It does appear that the Fogstar app works better on IOS than Android but I have no intention of buying an iPhone or ipad just to be able to view this one app.
