Anybody having problems with the app ?
I received 2 x 105AH Fogstar Drifts today.
I down loaded the app on to my phone but no matter what I do my phone just searches and searches and doesn't connect.
I have also down loaded the app on to my tablet but that won't connect either.
I have Bluetooth and location turned on on both devices and have uninstalled and re-installed the app several times on both devices but still no joy.
I can connect to other devices via Bluetooth no problem.

Solution2
Due to slight differences in resistances due to manufacture and even temperature, and electricity always takes the path of least resistance there will inevitably be one battery that drops quicker them the other my two Aolithium batteries rarely discharge at exactly the same rate there is always a slight difference, but not enough to cause me any concern.
According to the app only 1 battery at a time is discharging.
I put a 5amp load on the system and 1 battery showed it had a 5amp load on it and the other battery showed no load on it.
I would have expected both batteries to have shown about a 2.5amp load on each ?
Try clicking on one of the options at the bottom and then go back to this screen.

Was there a device list screen before that screen, which lists the devices in range?
No no device list and the options at the bottom just bring up screens that show no details ie

Could the BMS bluetooth be faulty seeing as I've now tried 4 different devices umpteen times ?

I keep saying mine is charged by solar but still sleeps maybe yours is same, maybe not but until you try you'll never know 🤔
I believe the Fogstar batteries go to sleep if the charge and discharge options are both disabled in the BMS. If the battery has charged then it probably isn’t asleep.

Did you pair the batteries to the phone before opening the app or is the procedure to pair from the app?

Looks to as though you’ll have to ‘cut your nose off to spite you face’. If there’s a fault you’ll have to contact them. 👍
Unfortunately it looks that way.
That will be 3 days on the trot I've had to phone them.

We have a KS Energy one and after a while the battery sort of hibernate if not used even though there's 0.1a drain so I just have to put 12v on in the van and turn a light or something on to wake it up. Can you apply a load somehow?
I've just cobbled an led bulb to the battery terminals to put load on the battery.
The led is lit so is drawing power from the Battery (admittedly only 4 watts) but still no change.

Well I've been at this for over 6 hours so far today.
Just connected the bulb to the other battery and still no joy just spins and spins saying searching so I'm giving up for today.
Thanks for all the advice/suggestions (y)

Seems a lot of people on here have had to contact them for one reason or other, hopefully it's something simple.

I have a Foster 280AH, Android phone and it can sometimes be hit and miss for connection. I have to go into apps and force quit it once I have used it, finished with it and want to go back in if that makes sense. It also does show all the BT equipment in the van... The app on my iPad works just fine without issue and has always done so. From memory it may need location on (an Android "thing") for it to work and that has a few levels, Only on whilst using, all the time etc... maybe worth a fiddle with permissions of the app and a reboot of your phone? Overkill Solar app also works on mine so maybe worth a try? The BMS doesn't have any password protection sadly so that won't be an issue and the BMS does seem to work Ok once you are able to view it. If it doesn't find anything a "force quit" on the app would be my start point, good luck.

I'm sure now I think about it that a member couldn't get the app to work and Fogstar confirmed it wouldn't work on their phone.

Thanks for the advice but I've tried all those things already sadly.
I've never had any problems with either of my Victron apps.

That is because Victron product is excellent quality and will do a lot of R&D on the app interface. Fogstar app is a very much "in house" build but at a different level to Victron and a much smaller company budget at a guess. Could you beg borrow or steal another phone / tablet to try another device with them? I would think the chance of both batteries have BT connection faults is low. Sadly bluetooth protocol is not the same on every device and can cause issues even now, Samsung and Sony phones work very differently on BT for example, you would think a "standard" like BT would indeed be a standard now but sadly not.

Why does it fall over then and often fail to connect. IMO Bluetooth is just crap.
Victron works perfectly for me every time and I see few reports of BT being an issue with them? BT is great for what it is but the "standard" is too loose so manufacturers cut costs / corners with it. Apple tie it down more than a fetish party has knots and Android leave it to the various manufacturer to add features or not as they wish.

I rarely am able to connect 1st time and end up opening and closing the app up to 4 times but never more (Samsung S21).

Have you tried adding the batteries in the phone Bluetooth settings? Rather then the app.
I had a similar problem with my lifepo 4 batteries using their supplied app I had to add the batteries to the Bluetooth in the phone settings before they would work with the supplied app.

The phone is not detecting the batteries so I can't add them.

As I can't access the app I've just put a multimeter on both batteries.
One is showing 13.35v and the other 13.33v.
This is after one initial full charge from new.
