Anybody having problems with the app ?
I received 2 x 105AH Fogstar Drifts today.
I down loaded the app on to my phone but no matter what I do my phone just searches and searches and doesn't connect.
I have also down loaded the app on to my tablet but that won't connect either.
I have Bluetooth and location turned on on both devices and have uninstalled and re-installed the app several times on both devices but still no joy.
I can connect to other devices via Bluetooth no problem.

Solution2
Due to slight differences in resistances due to manufacture and even temperature, and electricity always takes the path of least resistance there will inevitably be one battery that drops quicker them the other my two Aolithium batteries rarely discharge at exactly the same rate there is always a slight difference, but not enough to cause me any concern.
According to the app only 1 battery at a time is discharging.
I put a 5amp load on the system and 1 battery showed it had a 5amp load on it and the other battery showed no load on it.
I would have expected both batteries to have shown about a 2.5amp load on each ?
You might try downloading a Bluetooth signal meter or scanner from the play store to see if they can see your batteries, I've not needed one myself but might be worth a try.

I had to do a firmware upgrade to my Fogstar batteries. It wouldn’t work from my Android phone (Bluetooth 4) but it did work from my son’s Android phone (Bluetooth 5) once location was enabled.

As I can't access the app I've just put a multimeter on both batteries.
One is showing 13.35v and the other 13.33v.
This is after one initial full charge from new.
So about 95% charged but voltage on Lithium is only a rough guide.

Following this with interest as I currently have a Renogy LiPo and I'm considering swapping to a Fogstar.
The thing that has disappointed me with the Renogy is the battery heater has kicked in as the temp has dropped below 5c here, this has obviously taken its toll on the battery. I was under the impression the heater only activated when an incoming charge was detected. I believe this is how the Fogstar is configured.
If the Fogstar app is as bad as it sounds I might just stick with the Renogy battery.
Apologies for the thread hi-jack....

That Renogy arrangement is ridiculous, by the end of the winter a stored battery left off charge could be flat and ruined. In my opinion that is not fit for purpose. At no point should battery charge be used for the heaters, otherwise a weak solar charge might set off the heaters when the charge available is not enough to make up the losses. Better no heaters at all than ones that do the wrong thing. When Relion introduced their low temperature Li battery in 2018 it was made clear that the battery charge was not used to run the heaters, the power comes purely from the incoming charge.

Don’t let the Fogstar app put you off. They are supposed to be bringing out an update soon as have been asking users for suggestions to improve it. There are also several free apps you can use instead. I use one of them most of the time.

To be honest, now I've had my lithium for over a year, I don't even bother with the app !!

I just spoke to Fogstar who sent me a link to another app to down load.
I installed the app and still no devices detected.
This was with both batteries having been off charge for the past about 14 hours.
So I put one of the batteries back on charge, uninstalled the app Fogstar had sent me, re-installed the app and hey presto both batteries detected.

What was the issue in the end? Asking for a friend.

P.S Answer your phone!
Can you ring me again please.
I've tried calling the number of my missed call and it says the number you have called is not recognised?

I've just spoken to Fogstar who can't explain why I can't connect to their app but have suggested a few things to try which I will try in a bit.
This is all the Fogstar app does except for occasionally detecting my bedroom TV.

Hmmm so FogStar own app is no good but some other app is good and works better with their batteries… that doesn’t sound good does it… are these batteries fit for purpose because if I had the same problem as you yesterday I would have taken them back and chucked them at them…🤬

The 'other' app is the BMS manufacturer's app. Ours is a reskinned version of this app. If the other app works, there's no reason ours shouldn't.

Can you please double, triple, and quadruple check the location services are turned on? It's easy to hit 'deny' when you open the app.

Must admit out of all the lithium batteries people on here have fitted Fogstar seem to have more problems than any others.

You are over reacting the batteries are fine just a glitch with the Bluetooth on the BMS, not uncommon with BMS's.

Been plenty of problems with other makes, recently more Lithiums are getting fitted to vans and Fogstar are quite popular a lot of them been fitted in the last year.
Unless you have actual figures it's a bit meaningless.

Yes and I was thinking of them when I get back from this trip, I shall need to keep an eye on this… I’m not electrical minded and I need to just have stuff that works and can’t afford it if it doesn’t…🤔

Nothing wrong with the batteries, is there any data to prove your comments? It’s a bit unfair to state this without any evidence🤔 it could be that Fogstar have sold three times as many batteries to folk on the forum and that would give a false sense of problems as against other less popular manufactures? We need balanced info 😊

I hope it will work in 'Split Screen' view. It's handy being able to have the Victron and Renogy app open side by side on the iPad, the current Fogstar app won't run in split screen view.

Fogstar are you able to confirm if the new app version will do this?
