A quick update .I had a reply from fiat professional customer services today and my vehicle is not affected. I am not sure if it’s a series 8 or 9 but the interior of the cab was slightly updated a few months after purchase . So just for clarification mine is a 2021 160 bhp 2.3litre 9 speed auto .
That’s an “ old “ update , there is now an official Fiat recall .Just found this.

When I asked ( yesterday ) my local FP garage what was contained in the software update the answer was “ no idea “
Why would a mechanic know anything about software?

I’ve dyno’d loads of cars in the past for BHP and torque , got to be a HGV or equivalent dyno somewhere in this sceptre'd isle .
All they check is the computer says the new version is installed.
The series 8 is the 2.2 engine which is the only model affected in 160 and 180 bhp guise.
A dynamometer test measures the torque and rotational speed of an engine.

So you'll only know if you use one before and after the update to see if there any change.

I suppose you have to take the figures stated by Fiat at the point of sale as true ( or truish) and then dyno the van to get the real post update figures . If there is a glaring disparity then legally you could argue ( even after the 6 month rejection window has shut ) that what you bought had a “ fault “ from purchase and was not what you thought you were buying.Basically yes

Ironically, a Ferrari owner is unlikely to ever use the full performance of their vehicle. Not with the 180 & Auto box unless a very heavy van.Ironically, a Ferrari owner is unlikely to ever use the full performance of their vehicle. Whereas we are there on every slight motorway incline.
There isn't one, some people have had a letter.

Lenny, that’s what i thought but a few people are referring to a “recall notice” and saying that it specifically mentions gearbox software etc
