Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

Whole point of risotto is that the rice is not stodgy .
I despair at some of the comments about food on here .
'Don't like French cheese'
All 600+ ?
If you buy all 600 hundred I'll try a sample of each and let you know.

I did hear that since we started copying some French cheeses like Brie and Camembert, added to all the traditional UK cheeses that we make, we actually produce more varieties than the French do, over 160+on supermarket shelves 5years ago.
More UK farmers have diversified into cheese making to help get by and have been very successful, we even do Buffalo Mozzarella from UK Buffalo herds nowadays, but don't tell The French, it will only upset them.;)
Like Tam my favourite hard cheese, especially toasted has to be Red Leicester its that nutty flavour that sets it off, reminds me of home its very much like Dunlop Ayrshire Cheese, or Arran.(y)
Good luck with changing the slave cylinder Tam, might be worth finding a nice aire in a town with a garage nearby just in case you need to borrow a tool you haven't got.(y)

From what I can see it needs a flat head screwdriver and a 10 mm spanner , couldn't be easier. It does look a simple job to do so hopefully it is

That's what Matey said on the video Tam. ;)
If you've got any ramps, running up them on the one one side, (or both front wheels maybe, will give you better access to the slave cylinder.
In your experienced mechanical opinion, without a visible leak, is it definitely the slave of master cylinder that's gone?

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Had to get diesel and lpg when I got to le man , headed to carrefour, stupid canopy was 3.2.m and doc is taller than that ...had a right carry on to fill up . Had to drive in the wrong way to both pumps and stretch hose over far enough so i could park outwith the canopy , got a lot of strange looks from the frenchies but got there in the end . Lpg was a little more difficult as parked at the rear of the pump and not a very long hose .. Had to feed it between a bollard lol.

Got a new pair of waterproof waking boots and a couple of fleeces in decathlon too so Le man has had a fair bit money from me today €345 in total 🥲

Who says I'm a freeloader

I agree about penicillin, I'm allergic to it but the cheese is lovely but not as good as French cheese. 🤣
Told SWMBO about penicillin in Stilton. She wears a bracelet to warn about her allergy to it, and that she should`nt eat it. It should be just for me. Told me to get stuffed...... :cautious: I was shocked to the core! :roflmto:

I've not been under the van yet to see if it's leaking at the gearbox end Jock.. no sign of a leak on the master cylinder at the top.

I have a set of ramps courtesy of a funster so that should help .

The symptoms described in that video look the same as I have. The clutch itself seems absolutely fine no slipping etc no crunching or grinding I've just a very soft peddle that doesn't return to position. So I'm fairly certain it is that. Unless there's a second hydraulic part inside the gearbox hopefully not.

Well I'm sure they would sell alot more if the made it without the blue bits
They do make it without the blue bits :giggle: it's called white Stilton (y).
Sorry Tam I shall not mention cheese or fromage again. :giggle:

Am I pished or did you not say previously that this van is the same height as Frankie. 🤔

Maybe it’s me but I’m sure you said that you had that problem with it for that long. 🤔
It is you

What I said was I had a volvo that had a dodgy slave cylinder that had been faulty for a couple of years.

The previous owner owned it 5 years , I owned it less than a week 😁

I sold it on still with the fault for 600 quid more than I paid for it.

Like my van it still drove perfectly fine you just had to lift the pedal back up with your toe every time you pressed the clutch. It was annoying though hence me selling it on as that needed box out to fix it.

This however has an external slave cylinder and I'm going to be doing thousands of miles on this trip so I want to fix it.

You always like to make a shilling Tam.

I wish you'd feckin read things .

The van is the same height as the frankia without the aircon unit.

Both were/are 320cm high to the top of the skylights.

But the canopy at petrol station was also 320cm high so even without aircon unit I'd have scratched the roof .

Of course .

No point in buying and selling cars if you're gonna lose money on them .

It was for sale for £1300 , I paid £900 and I sold it for £1500 .

And the old guy who bought it absolutely loved it.

Good. (y)

I've just had a look at the supplier tacr2man Max linked to for that part. I can't believe the price they are charging, when the same LuK kit in the UK is £90 to £135. :Eeek:

As I said I’m pished, there’s always a tolerance on the height barriers. 😉

We've had fishgate is this cheesegate 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's annoying lol , especially when I'm trying to keep track of more important posts. I don't mind a little thread diversion now and then but it can go on a bit too long at times.
