Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

We had discussed that the other week . But wasn't entirely sure which one I need or if I trust the morrocans to fit one lol.

But definitely something not right with brakes on this. I refuse to believe its the discs or calipers etc . I'll have all the wheels off again in tafroute if they're painting the underside and will give everything a check then

I haven't followed every post so apologies if this has been meentioned.

Could the problem be that you have brake fluid that has become hydroscopic and has absorbed water vaour. If so that can compress under pressure and give that saggy feel and reduce the braking.

Unless it has had a fresh hydraulic fluid change recently it might be worth changing it to see if it makes a difference.

Northernraider. As mentioned on your last thread re your Flair Tam, I had exactly the same problem re the feel of the pedal and the lack of braking. My HGV mechanic pal diagnosed a faulty brake master cylinder, replaced it and bled the system, and all has been well since. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Genuine question but why do people in campers need to brush their teeth outside and spit toothpaste everywhere? It seems to be very common and I can't understand why they need an audience.

There's 3 French vans here and all 6 occupants are brushing there teeth outside ?

And one of the girls who's very pretty just did that thing where you put a finger on one nostril and blow the contents of the other on the ground ... 🤢🤮

OK no problem
Get on to them and let me know and I'll get it on the way through
I'll try and get this part number of the cylinder today and a few photos of it.

Maybe Richard gus-lopez could recommend a supplier in Spain to get one from , I don't know if they have auto doc in Spain. They're not overly expensive on ebay ...a bosch one for example is around £65 but I've missed that boat now unfortunately.

The other problem is how long your going to take to get down this far chief as I'm not far from agadir now and I'll likely go from agadir to tafroute as I don't want to wait too long to see if those guys can paint it. Hopefullythe brakes dont pack in completely before then but i feel im taking a risk with them. Still having issue with this red light periodically too .

Never a smooth hassle free trip with my vans lol. I think I'm jinxed

I wouldnt fancy doing the road up to Tafraoute with suspect brakes! Do you have a decent jack with you? If so you could just find a quiet corner on a decent surface and have a proper look. If not then you do find little lock up garages in Moroccan towns. When we had engine water pump fail in previous Mh they sorted it and got genuine fiat water pump sent overnight in a grand taxi - taxi driver pays for the part and then the garage reimburses him plus the fare when he gets there, different culture = different methods. Although I had to put a deposit down, dodgey infidel that I am

It has to be the master cylinder Jon and I can't do that job myself as they'll need bled yet again after it's replaced. The brakes haven't been right since I got it to be honest . Just some places they are worse than others. I've plenty tools with me I just don't have the parts.

You're not jinxed. It's just part of the re-commisioning. Anyway you know the two golden motorhoming rules. They all break at some point and dealers lie about payload!

You know underneath all this fixing stuff, you've got a great van.

The master cylinder is a bosch 796791
