Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

He's grumpy because he had to pay French prices for his slave cylinder and don't forget the leaky boots. 🤣
I'm not grumpy at all , as I said I'm just happy it isn't the clutch.

It's an unexpected problem but won't be the last . The van is going well and hopefully stays that way .

If the part fixes it I'll have forgotten all about it next week.

I just can't understand folk thinking the price for it is reasonable when the exact same part can be bought in the UK for half the price of the country that manufactured it.

That's fecked up in whatever language you look at it.

Market forces , just a few years ago it was cheaper to buy a van in Germany than in the UK. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I try French Ebay but no result there. There is a main Evico plant in Fourchambault., near Never. Not sure if they would have the part in stock...

It still is

It's just expensive to import it.

Which is my point

Import a French part , transport it , and sell it for less than you pay in France

That doesn't make any sense at all.

So it's more likely that it's just heavily marked up here In France.

I noticed on the iveco forum in the UK that someone paid €100 in Germany for the part , in the UK someone paid £117 plus vat from iveco

The rest paid between £70 and 100 online

Iveco France €273

No it’s not, a similar van to yours or mine is much more expensive in Germany now than before.

Doesn’t matter what you buy in the U.K. , there will be a wide variety in pricing
Same everywhere

There's making a profit and there's taking the piss.

I made the profit on the car by buying it cheap not selling it dear. That's the difference. The price I sold it for was still a lot cheaper than similar models with the Miles and condition available . Hence it selling no problem.

The part I've just bought is a good example of taking the piss

Luk part available in the UK for £90 and that seller is still making a profit.

So iveco dealer selling it for £200 is taking the piss.
Even the place I'm buying it from is taking the piss at £165

There's profit, and there's profiteering.

The guy who bought my second hand volvo had a choice ...

I need the part so I don't have a choice.
Just like cars vary hugely in price per country , so do parts, that is not necessarily a rip off, in the Netherlands cars are taxed twice in purchase , that is a choice made by elected governments , you not only pay the Dutch equivalent of VAT ( BTW) but also BVB , so a vw golf in NL cost about 10/15 grand more🤷🏻‍♂️

That's £34k

You couldn't buy mine for that either 😁

You'll not find an iveco based Flair in the UK for sale in the condition mine is in .

So it's difficult to find a comparison .

But I've seen loads of good motorhomes in Germany cheaper than the UK.

That's why their still being imported.

You are delusional Tam, no one is importing old vans like yours now as VAT has to be added to the price. Good luck when you sell it next year.

So the UK is building German vans now are they?

Interesting

P.s that is exactly what I said earlier.

You can still find cheap vans in Germany it's the cost to import them that makes them more expensive.

You need to stop drinking dude ... its warping your brain

Totally worn out worrying about the slave cylinder and if it’s going to effect their next meal 😂😂😂

Yours is a different model/age than mine anyway jock so still not a comparison..

I've only seem one other iveco based Flair for sale in the UK this year which makes them a rarity compared to the fiat based models.

Nice one ive seen thats closest to mine in the Netherlands for sale and the dealer does point out that distinction.

Although it still has 30k km more than mine too 😁
