Disgruntled CAMC Warden Joining Here!

You have to if you wish to earn an honest living.
Never done anything dishonest, but maybe if you average my wage out I have had far less than basic wage, but had many a laugh over the years.
And most of all , no regrets in the work just wish I had seen more of the world like a lot on here.

I wonder if this will take off.
CAMC booking online for CLs

If you read the FAQs they say this

"This website /App is completely separate from the CAMC website where you can book Club sites. As you will see below, this website is independently run, although we encourage all users to be CAMC members and will ask you for your Club Membership Number when you book any CL site."

They also say

"CL Booking is an ENQUIRY system for CLs across the UK. It is NOT a full-blown booking system per se. A booking system may follow, but for the moment, you will only see the provisional availability for each CL site.

CL Booking has been designed and funded by a consortium of 20 CL site owners. It was born out of the CL Booking Facebook Group which has grown to circa 15,000 members (May 2021)."

So nothing to do with the CAMC

Better days.

Bar area rebuilt with detachable frontage, area doubles as restaurant. Proper kitchen to left of building (as you look out onto lake) Small shop on site now! English sausage, bacon etc. Well kitted out kids play area. It's run by Rob and Jen now. Spent a lot of cash upgrading existing facilities (toilets/showers). I'll put a couple of pics from last week on. I flew out for 2 days only as had to sort car and bank out. Should of taken more pics, didn't think!

No please don’t, it’s takes away all spontaneity away from the CL system, they’ve probably heard some CL users aren’t members and want to close all loopholes.
Once you start doing that I can only see prices increasing at CLs.

How would they know though if you just phoned a CL surely the owner would not say I can’t book you in over the phone you will have to go online.

Too much red tape ruins things.

A lot of the CL's I have been to squeeze in a couple of extra vans when "full" the website wouldn't let them do that, so they may not want to join.

Typical facebook group numbers. 3 times as many in the group as there are CLs. Must be made up of a lot of users too.

I recently rang https://covertfarm.co.uk/ to make a booking and they said they don't accept bookings over the phone you have to do it online and they must have your membership number , I made a mistake entering my number on the booking and got an email saying they could not take the booking as it was not a valid membership number ,I had to resend with correct number

Just to add, it's a progression from the FB group... where there was a Google map layer showing general availability for the next couple of months.

It's a helpful tool, in it's infancy, that's all.

As you found out CL owners can check membership numbers. I think the C&MC has been trying to tighten up on unauthorised use of CLs. Certainly you get asked for you membership number far more than in the past. I have notice CL owners with a site licence don't bother.

I don’t understand the philosophy at all, why on earth can’t they accept bookings both on the phone and online, that CL could have potentially lost your booking.

Why couldnt he have said yes we have availability to you on the phone? Is it because of Covid and not wanting to get close to people/handle money etc?

Does this mean they have a full site licence plus a dedicated area for 5 club members? We've been to a couple like this, not good. One said he didn't have our booking and squeezed us in a poky manky corner surrounded by chickens. The CL area seemed very nice, manicured lawn with hedges. Yes we should have left but we were a bit green.

I do think that any comments regarding the CAMC should not be posted here. They are just one persons interpretation and could be misread by people.
What makes CAMC such an important organisation that comments on them should be banned?

If people don't like seeing such comments surely the answer is to ignore threads with them in, rather than stopping others exercising their right to free speach.

I trust that Jim will prevent others going too far with their comments.

Not even quite 5 years ago chaser it was 15th September at 11.42 in the morning to be precise, so 5 years next month.

CAMC has a heavily sensored and regulated forum called Club Together. God forbid that the Fun should ever become like that.

Not that I've got anything to say on the subject matter, I seem to recall that freedom of expression is still a human right per UN charter, HRA 1998, Article 10 in particular.

This article refers to everyone having he right to freedom of expression without interference by a public authority, which is further defined under S6 as being a Court or competent Tribunal or any person certain of whose functions are functions of any public (non private) nature.

The Whistleblowers Charter also make interesting reading; https://www.gov.uk/whistleblowing

Complaints that do not count as whistleblowing

‘ Personal grievances (for example bullying, harassment, discrimination) are not covered by whistleblowing law, unless your particular case is in the public interest.’

I haven't seen anything in the OP’s comments that is whistle blowing, the governments website also stated that an individual with a grievance should follow a companies grievance process ( probably the right thing to do)

Good morning
Countdown to big changes how you book CAMC sites
Spent the morning repairing some vandalism in the loos and calming down a customer upset that his neighbours have come back late drunk and woke him up. Hay ho

So it's a big month...HQ are hoping to launch the new booking system\app which will take non refundable deposits and also be " reactive" enabling to club to raise and lower prices daily to suit. The launch will hopefully be in the next club magazine and my guess is it will follow the"' you complained about block booking and cancellations so we've done this for you" kinda thing

Complaints amongst motorhome owning members have started and been " locked" on our Club Together site forum as van owning members have pointed out that caravans will be fine with booking a week with a deposit as they rarely cancel ...whilst motorhome tour around and like the facility to cancel and shuffle bookings to suit.
Seems a fair point ,and relevant especially after the club renamed it's self CAMC.

We need a new booking system and this new one had been bought to enable bookings mostly for the growing number of " statics " being placed on touring pitches...glamping pods and safari tents etc

Don't think that it is caused by an inability to reverse, the problem for a MH is that there is always a strip of the pitch that you cannot really use. A caravanner parks the car on one side and the awning on the other. So with a MH there is a temptation to easy across a little bit to give more room on the door side
When you get to your CMC pitch and it is this muddy in front of he hab door, it seemed a good idea to move the peg, on what was a very overused pitch.
