Disgruntled CAMC Warden Joining Here!

Forced to sleep with your customers.
It's a bit of a Clickbait header but forgive me I couldn't resist.
Wardens are compelled to reside on site, even if they live a few miles away.Your contract doesn't allow you to go home at night after you have finished work at 8 pm. I can go out and have a skinfull but I can't go home after work

How many jobs do you know where you are forced to sleep in a field with your customers after work?

Most of do this job purely for the money ( new recruits who are sold the dream of a free pitch and nice outdoor work either walk or wise up)).we are just as happy to work as supermarket shelf fillers, petrol pump attendants or Swede pullers.
The club gets 24 free security and I get a pitch.
This can suit many for a while but it's a bit like a tied cottage....it can give your employer an unhealthy influence on staff
Sounds more like a moan than a revelation, as you say you have contracted to stay on site......you had a choice to sign the contract and clearly did so maybe a bit late to complain after the event.

When I first saw your initial posting I, as someone who takes an interest in the life of campsite staff and others who live their respective lives basing themselves in the non normal bricks and mortar way of life. We travelled for 5 years in our MH and at times considered researching in detail whether working on a site seasonally would fit into our lifestyle.
I looked forward to your postings to stand up and outline the way of life as a warden who happened to be employed by a large recognised campsite business of which many including ourselves use. Any postings made by yourself would be anonymous to your employer and thus could be if honest, protected from identification, so you could set out the information candidly and straight to the point.
The insights I expected to read about was a to be a true prospective from somebody having detailed information that may give an enlighten account of the issues being employed by the organisation and what information that would be available of any changes that may take place that could show the future operation of the club,

So far the postings that have been made by yourself are just snapshots of very little information that could support any operational changes that could give any discussion as to members who may use the club sites.
To now make comment around living on site, that just sums up the postings you are making. This requirement was known from the outset when you applied for any position as this has been the requirement for many many years when deciding to apply for a warden position.
Warden staff have many reasons why they choose to live several months in a caravan/MH and then when the site closes have the flexibility to move on to somewhere else. If after you have taken up position that living on site does not fit into your lifestyle, its your choice to decide what to do.
You ask what other work requires you to sleep with your customers. There are many how about , Cruise ship staff, Boarding school staff, nursing homes. There are many workers out there who applied for these positions knowing that they would be required to reside on site after working hours. Like campsite wardens it was clearly in the job description.

Except you’re not actually “sleeping with your customers” are you as wardens and assistant wardens have their own compound complete with 2 x 16amp hookups, fresh water supply and waste water disposal point (I.e. a fully serviced pitch) and not forgetting the separate bathroom/kitchen pod too!
Also, on the vast majority of sites these compounds are sited away from the main site, often before the barrier, and therefore away from the paying customers.

Didn’t know about the 2x hookups but that’s good to have if full time 👍🏻. What’s the bathroom/kitchen pod you mention? At Brecon Beacons they have 3 Wardens pitches with some kind of building so wondered what they are ? 👍🏻

A compound with a sign on the fenced gate saying " please do not disturb the off duty wardens"... well certainly at the ones I've seen.

Oldwarden Be careful what you continue to write about your employer in case it falls into Defamation, you can see from replies members are not particularly sympathetic and whist its just a question is social media the best place to post your feelings ? there are other sources you could go to for help if you are feeling stressed, depressed or angry. If working conditions are truly that bad take out a grievance against the management or company.

All jobs and working conditions change, there are very few secretarial jobs, copy typists or typists, most have to make their own tea, gone are the days of the tea trolly, Luncheon Vouchers etc. It sounds like changes have or are happening and you don't like it. When you stop enjoying a job move on.

Please be kind to yourself, it really does not help you by saying 'my former employer are total B'tards' like all jobs you choose to stay, you choose to leave

Also is it true the CAMC app was designed by the winners of a primary school competition?
By all accounts it may have been the runner-up out of an entry of one!:whistle2:

Itinerant alert
Good morning
We're all on high Itinerant alert this morning following mass trespassing at several sites
It seems knaresborogh site had problems last night and utoxeter va few days ago.

The Bank holiday is the best time to force yourself on to a club site,HQ is closed and the bailiffs we employ are busy, the Itinerants know they will get a free run of the site for several days till the bailiffs turn up and then they scarper

It seems they used children to extract site barrier fobs from the departure box

The usual technique is to have one member of the group book in legitimately and the en and block open the entrance barrier whilst everyone else pours in

It's a nightmare for guests and staff alike...if it's a tresspass then facilities vwill be locked and site closed. An office full of guests getting refunds and a site full of feral kids. Bushes become toilets and your unit a football practice target

Horrible

The English legal system appears to be far too soft on such activities. I hope that you don't have them invade your site.

I wonder if this will take off.

Just tried it and after selecting the dates I wanted this came up. "Availability cannot be guaranteed - make an enquiry to confirm with owner" So a bit pointless.

Yes but was Hazel a Freemason . I think not as Free Masonry does not admit women although they do have a women's equivalent. Maybe her maiden name ;). Of course the Freemasons do now allow women to be members but only if they were men at the time of joining o_O. Now there is a question that needs answering Mrsambulancekidd 😄.
If Hazel was a freemason would she be called a Maisonette ?

You knew the wage rate and terms before you started, so why start whinging now ?
As for renumeration packages for their managers, and even their Chairman (Grenville the gimp) who cares.

I think you need to come clean as to who you really are, and what (if any) your gripes are. Or were you sacked ?

I've never ever had a job I enjoyed? Even the last 20 years with my own business.
I have never had a job I haven't enjoyed, maybe just lucky, I don't know, but I would never have done a job I didn't like.
In fact I turned loads down that would have made me loads more money than I have ever made.

I don't think he is reading the thread as he never answers anything.
Just keeps putting random posts on.

Is it officially sanctioned by C&MC or is it just a "third party data gathering" website?
Would have thought if it was it would have been a new tab on their own website.

FANCY MY JOB,THINK AGAIN!

You may have seen lots of posters on club sites offering jjobs with the club" immediate start" they say...think again.
The Club has upset so many staff this year ,many have quit mid season, the club is now offering us £250 per recruit if we can persuade you to sign up...£500 a couple.
Things have got so that they tried to get office staff fromHQ to work on sites...you can guess how that worked out So we're paid Minimum wage for a 40 hour week on average ,clean bogs, pick up dog pop, break up fights, paint, cut grass etc. This we have done knowing we are a club but the goodwill has run out and we are fleeing
HQ lie to themselves blaming Covid but the rot set in Several years ago with new management and the bodged name change
And now with Deposits being planned on payments and a second hand website being bought for next season were following our head of IT and leaving.....these wise rats are following one of our respected managers and leaving.
Anyway I'm off to check the bogs and check a few folks in
Check out the posters and get a better job at ASDA
Goodnight
You saw the job description when you signed up for the job and also went through the training so why take it?

Don't think so, it was commisioned by the CL owners group I think the C&MC had their noses put out of joint.

Re deposits being taken I have just looked at a booking made last year which just details the usual
blurb on access & arrival time & compared it with one made yesterday which says the same apart from the
first line which states No deposit has been taken at this time as you will pay on arrival at site.
Makes you wonder if they’re just warming us up for it. We have had the first 3 weeks of September booked on CAMC sites for some time & have been adjusting the days as they have become available. If deposits were required we wouldn’t have booked as don’t need the hassle of adjusting every time. Mind you in normal times we’d be in France!

This thread is going no where. We are just being drip fed little bits of nothing, and no questions are being answered.

This is worse that the Very old-mo TypeFella's jokes and I'm getting bored.

So, thread ignored.

No need for answers , met a couple in Wellington in the mid 70s , when they came to collect a recently imported car from Aus. Thought they were Jewish at first because the both wore a necklace that looked like the Star they were forced to wear by the Nazi's, during the Nazi reign of terror. Asked them if they were suvivors , no they said, they were Masons
