Bloody dogs

Healthy debate is indeed good. However an awful lot of strongly held opinions on this forum appear to be controlled by emotions rather than anything approaching logical arguments. It’s my biggest problem with the B vote. I’ve spoken to many people since, and have yet to hear a true reasoned argument that isn’t based on emotions.
Emotions form a huge part of the human experience. Not everything can be boiled down to pure police or numbers.

Did you form your relationships through emotion or logic or numbers?

If you think about it, a degree of logical thought is usually involved at the start of a relationship

Yeah but they pinched it. Bill Murray never said that about cats lol and it's a quote from him .

I've had cat's I like cats but they are sneaky
I like cats too. We don't have one at the moment.

I wouldn't say sneaky. They are selfish. Its the way they are programmed.

I am told that if they were big enough they would eat you. I think they would too. Only after tormenting you for a couple of hours though.

Emotion is a strong force! You can get the ‘I’d rather die than….’ scenarios and indeed, I’m sure many people have done just that because of the strong emotional force or belief they have, be it based on fact, evidence or logic, hearsay or ‘I just know it’s right…’.

Debating and logical argument is quite a skill not gained by many. It did use to be taught at schools, usually private and public. I believe some primary schools are starting to resurrect it. Getting it to the point of it convincing your ‘audience’ that your argument is based on truth and evidence when it actually isn’t it quite an art!

I hate dogs with a passion, I wouldn't hurt one and those who have them have a different view and are welcome to them. However when you see them lick their vitals and then proceed to lick their owners face or as I have seen in France a dog sitting on a ladies knee eating off the same plate along with other habits, I cringe! Dog's your welcome to them.
We have a Bulldog, it’s impossible for them to lick their vitals😉👍

I remember the Jasper Carrott story of first meeting the new girlfriend's parents and left alone with her mother, is struggling for something to say.
The dog is lying in front of the fire licking its balls. Jasper pipes up, “I wish I could do that”.
The mother replies, “ give him a biscuit and he’ll let you”. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Most of the people that complain about dogs licking their vitals do so out of jealousy. Because they can't and no one else would 😁🤣

Not in my case……………
40+ years later it still doesn’t seem logical😂
although lust played an initial part, logic suggested it would make sense to continue to see her over Christmas to avoid having to find a new gf over the Xmas period. We recently celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary

Is your good lady aware that she was only a stopgap? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Congrats on reaching your 50th :clap2:

You sound quite grumpy today.......can I bring a nice cold beer over :)
Been suffering grandkids 24/7 for a week & two more weeks to go.
Went off on my own this afternoon found an expat pub a burger & 2 pints of Leo.

No, not ban dogs, ban inconsiderate owners.

You could get annoyed about loads of stuff, loud parties on site, slamming doors, arriving late, running the engine few minutes before driving off, Smokey barbecues, kids running round all over and don’t even mention generators.

So ban dogs but ban panel vans side door whoosh bangers, there you’re banned chaser, you’re in there somewhere.
When we had an A class I don’t ever remember being disturbed or annoyed by nearby whoosh bang doors. now we have a PVC I am very careful not to keep opening and shutting the side door it’s only really necessary before going to bed or if going out. I just leave it just nearly closed most of the time. However. If someone nearby does not control their noisy kids or dogs or other annoyances it’s nice to know that should I need to return the favour I can whoosh bang several times in the early morning or late at night. 😊

Problem is people let their dogs run free as nature intended, problem is for wildlife (ground nesting birds etc) plus the number of times we have been sitting having lunch by a river or beach and it seems owners find it’s ok for their pooch to come up to us slobbering and wanting a bite of the sandwich…….
I make cr@p sandwiches so they don't bother 😋

This one might. A proper cat..

It's just dogs I can't do with, what is the point of them, cost a fortune just to have everywhere contaminated with the things, and people who think you want to meet their foo foo can just foo foo off with them.
Point of mine: both working dogs, English springer Spaniels, Flush and retrieve, Still pets that we take abroad, I don’t want anyone to meet my dogs, they aren’t people dogs apart with us and close friends.
Meet us on our daily walks in the Lake District and their usual swimming places taken by the summer hol day trippers, you will get a surprise as they launch themselves into the water, why should I change my routine for the tourists, ain’t happening, selfish? Possibly!

Everyone has something that upsets or disturbs them but if we banned one thing we would have to ban all the others too.
What a boring life it would be!
We have Pippa and she isn’t noisy but I know what you mean about yapping dogs!

I had cow dogs all my life till I finished milking, thought the world of them because they worked their arses off with me, but introduce them to anyone else ,not a chance , and take them on holiday what a laugh ,they would have everyone rounded up in a flash.
