Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

This is Germany, its how it works here, the consumer protection is good, we can reject easily enough.
The process has worked fine on the last MH and car bought new...
ah ok, didn't realise you were buying in Germany.

Different T&C in different markets obviously. Here in Sweden you typically pay a deposit, fixed amount or percentage depending on vehicle price and then the rest upon delivery. We did have one dealer who asked payment in full when the vehicle arrived in Sweden  Needless to say, we didn't approve of their rather silly and unique terms, and took or business elsewhere, where they asked for a £1k deposit to fix the price for the 12 months we waited - which we gladly paid!

Here they take contracts very seriously, we committed to buy when we signed the contract last September, once the right to cancel time has passed then that's it, it would take a serious illness like death to get out of it, on the plus side, if there is a problem with it on delivery then we can say no and get a refund..........

It depends on the dealer, we didn´t need to pay a deposit, the sig on the contract was enough, collection in 3 weeks so paying up now is not a problem, it means we can insure, register etc and then turn up on the day with plates, do check and handover then up and away, we don´t have the V5 hassle you guys seem to have, get the papers, insurance number, make appointment at the registration dept ( local), have or choose your number then 15 mins it´s all done, have new plates made while you wait, get Tüv sticker, go and pack for the weekend. 😬

Just to put things into context, delays are now more to do with transport logistics than with production. Thousands of vans are sitting in compounds around the factory in Italy waiting to be moved. The Pössl Group, maker of Globecar (and other converters) are even sending their own transporters to ease the situation. So bad the lack of chassis is, Pössl had to put its workforce on short time in one factory.
Part of Italy like Emilia-Romagna suffered terrible floods in May which hugely disrupted freight transport by rail. Here's are photos of the train line taking Ducatos north from the factory.
For Citroën and Peugeot chassis, the situation should be much better as a lot of them are coming from the new factory in Poland where a third shift has been introduced.
I'm too is waiting for a new Ducato campervan but not too impatient as it's going too late for the Summer season anyway.
Not easy for all parties involved.

Rapido C50 (140 manual Fiat) deposit to dealer (already pre-ordered) March 2022.
Changed and added elements (upholstery colour, underfloor heating etc)

Chassis arrived in June 23, build complete end of July 23 (in France), Collected last weekend (August 14th) in UK.

So that's around 17 Months.

Price held from point of order.

I've been watching this thread for ages but had nothing much to contribute. But if like me your another "watcher" have faith they are coming..just prepare yourself for the mad rush when they do arrive to sort out security stuff and re-fill with your life (if you had a van before).

For us we'd held onto our previous Rapido until we knew this one was "in country" and sold private the week before (no shortage of buyers). It's amazing how much "STUFF" comes out when you entirely empty the old one.. it's not even like it's things we don't need.

Just five days after picking it up we will be taking it to it's 1st music festival tomorrow so a baptism of fire type test. Hopefully won't have to traverse fields of mud like last month in the older 749m @ Y-Not festival.

Sounds very much like Rapido are focusing on building the "UK" batch now as although ours was ordered by our dealer in May 21 and by us in Oct 21, it was built and arrived around the same time as yours. We elected to wait for a few dealer extras to be fitted and the new reg for the sake of a couple more weeks.Ours gets its baptism at Goodwood! Enjoy!

Lovely news to hear! We are hoping that DVLA sort out new registrations soon and we can pick our long awaited Malibu van next month. This final hurdle is the hardest, knowing it’s in the country but unable to arrange to collect yet, 22 months after ordering the waiting continues…… “all good things” though 🤞🏻😀

So, we have paperwork arrived today, tomorrow insurance, Monday registration and then have to wait until Thursday for a collection appointment from the dealer (everyone is at the caravan salon 😕), nearly there.....
It will be 1 year to the week from order to collection ....

I know what you mean. Emptied ours last week to put it on the market. Took me ages and then having to find somewhere to put it all! I'd have never thought you could get so much stuff in a PVC and still be 150kg + under 3500kg!

Looks like a good few new motorhomes are now arriving.
Has the situation started to improve?
I wonder what the delivery date would be if you ordered a new motorhome today.
I don't see may posts about people ordering new motorhomes now. Most were ordered 12 months or more ago.
Perhaps there are fewer orders for new motorhomes now due to the high prices.
A lot of people are keeping what they have.

Prices are nuts.
My van was 60k €, all extras included.
Today, same model is 76k €, no extras.
Add about 2k € in alarm, locks, LPG etc. (probably a bit more expensive with inflation) and it goes up to 78k € ??
In just one year!
That's just crazy.
I know whoever has the money or asks the bank for it will do so anyway.
But it's a lot in just one year.

Almost there, registered today, took a couple of hours including new plates, the reg no from our last MH was still in the system and available so we have a continuation....now we only have to call on Thursday to see about collecting..
Had a stressful wait for an email reply this morning to see if the MH was damaged, we were at a wedding on Sat just 20km from the dealership near Augsburg, we only have 3 panels on the car undamaged from the hail storm we were caught in, so of course we were worried about the MH but we are assured all is well.

We drove past the Benimar factory yesterday and there didn't seem to be any shortage there judging by the number of chassis waiting to be built on.

I was told this morning that our Adria Twin should be with the dealer on 23rd November. Apparently the vans are being produced quickly but some issues with transport.

The new market is definitely softening.I've even had a few dealers chasing me having registered with them when looking at back up options.

Following the theme... called in at a motorhome dealer this morning out of curiosity. They had a Adria Twin Supreme 640 SGX in stock, £99,995. I ran it through the Adria configurator when I got home, exactly the same vehicle comes out at £88,000.........
