Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

We ordered our Adria (Fiat Chassis) on a 160bhp auto gear box too and it arrived a few days before Christmas as ordered and no extra cost to pay, so honored the price protection. Ordered October 2021, also on dealers allocation allowance..if that makes a difference.. originally due for April 2022 delivery put back multiple times and then finally arrived at short notice for us to collect Christmas week so nice Christmas present for us! We have not been away yet though, just gone out for drive and getting the dog used to it!

Our Rapido ordered Nov 2021 (dealer order Oct 21) was due May 22 and we have now been advised it will be mid July 23 before it arrives. It seems every time we phone for an update the date slips by another month or so. Very frustrating.

Yup. Some of the bigger brands inc UK converters seem to have more leverage on Fiat than Rapido. What makes it worse is when you see vans coming in which must have been ordered after ours.

We picked our Elddis CV20 up a week ago after a 15 month wait and chatting with the dealer and reading in-between the lines Fiat have had major supply and production problems like every other major manufacturer but being in the UK has made it much worse. The UK supply of Fiat camper based vehicles will at some point soon dry up. With hindsight buying abroad makes sense especially if you are going to spend time touring Europe.

And the supply and demand challenges are not going to be helped by this mornings news of 800 additional ambulances being ordered (as much as they are needed)

I was told this was due to fiat building a massive order for Amazon vans which are now complete

This is a myth as most Amazon vans in the EU and UK are M-B Sprinters. The big Amazon order was in the USA. CKD kits are produced by the Ducato factory in Italy and then shipped to Mexico to produce the RAM Promaster for Amazon. CKD kits production has been largely unaffected by the shortage of parts which the Ducato suffers. The main differences between the Ducato and the Promaster are the engine, front (lights, bumper & grille) and the interior.

I expect Ford are rubbing their hands together as this has given them an opportunity to break into the market.
Yes, a good opportunity for Ford.
It is a pity that other manufacturers don't follow.
It would be nice to have a motorhome based on a Toyota!

Ready to go, just missing an Alko part that’s due in next week. In theory with importation and MFK control will be at my dealer by end of this month👍🏻 Then some dealer mods planned so target date of 1st April hand over.

Now just need to get on and sell the Carthago !

The chap I meet this morning quoted the factory shutdown mentioned in this thread and said they have enough chassis/cabs for this year (ordered in 21) but next year he thought would be even longer and he said today the lead time quoted is 2yrs as he said they want to be slightly pessimistic rather than not deliver on their promises, honest approach at least.

Ordered my Mclouis Menfys based on a Fiat Ducato in November 21. Dealer in Perugia could not get any more information last year from Trigano as to when the estimated delivery would be and was finally informed a couple of months back that delivery would be in the first 6 months of this year. Called dealer last week and still nothing more precise concerning delivery.

Being more honest and realistic will be refreshing.I suspect the dealers were far too optimistic with delivery dates for anyone that ordered at the last 2 big shows and I wonder how realistic they will be at this month's show when customers are comparing offers in terms of price and availability.

Anyone waiting keep the faith, my Adria compact supreme DL 160BHP Auto was delivered to my dealer this week. Ordered in July 2021. Going to roll over collection till March 1st now and benefit from a 23 plate.
And a shout out to Marquis of Surrey (who seem to get a lot of negative feedback- price protected from original sale).

Very nice. Shouldn’t it have the new rear concave panel, or is that only on the Matrix

Others are advertising as 23 models when the are actually 22 models

Becoming fairly typical. Mine was ordered October 21 and had already been ordered by the dealer in May 21. No firm date only possibly May 23

That's a big change from a Compactline, how did you find the Carthago?

Cracking van but was part of the deal to tide us over until this one arrives. Have the option to trade it back or sell it so it’s up for sale now. 2021 Carthago C-Compactline with 8k miles on the clock, LHD as well 😄 free weekend in Switzerland thrown in.

Few Ducato chassis waiting to go into production at N&B:

They also mentioned that chassis/cabs are only part of the story. As an example Seitz cannot supply certain parts for the blinds on the ISmove and as such they have 10 vans finished but can’t go out until these parts arrive, parts are at least 6-8wks away….. so it’s not only Fiat causing this.

Except UK A&E ambulances are quite often on Mercedes chassis (thankfully)

We are awaiting a fiat based Rapido , original delivery April 21 , slowly moved to this year , had a response from Rapido direct saying to expect delivery early June and that current problem was late delivery of auto gearboxes to Fiat , we live in hope .enjoy
