Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

We had 2 in reasonably accessible locations in the kitchen and dinette areas but our dealer, Peter Roberts, put 2 more in where we wanted them without a blink of the eye 😊
Will be protected by MCB's so can't see an issue

Ours was in the bathroom cabinet in the last van. I just drilled a hole through the wall into the living area, put a plug with fuse on one end of a lead into the socket, and attached a double socket on the wall in the living area. Worked fine for 6 years.

I ordered a new PVC based on a Ducato converted by Elddis/Compass in early January with a "expected' delivery of June, that was revised in May to 'Aug/Sept' and now we are advised Feb 23 (which I have said I now don't want it until Mar or I'll miss the '23' registration release.
So it will be almost 14 months from paying the deposit which is ridiculous tbh.

We pick our dreamer camper 5 this Friday (2nd of December) after ordering July 2021. It’s been a long wait but having called in to see it last weeks it looks fab, happy we specced it as we did too, looks the part!

I don’t think that is unusual. We ordered our Carthago in September 21 and now expect delivery next April, a good 18 months later.

Yup, 18 months does seem to be the going rate for a factory ordered vehicle.Anything less and you are fortunate

OMG, this is starting to be hilarious!

Like I wrote earlier, the Hymer Grand Canyon is going to be updated for MY 2023 and yesterday I noticed the options list with all the new stuff has been published. Dating 1st of Aug eventhough the new GC was published a few weeks later than that date. Well, anyway, emailed the dealer that maybe we should have yet another meet to discuss all the changes about new and old options that are linked to each other and options that are not available any more and/or have changed after our last meet. No need to hurry, he said, Hymer has announced it will be MY 2024 and the options lists will be published probably 8/2023.

The fun part was that he suspected that the chassis can't be altered any more and that's ok because I don't want to change anything about it. BUT! If the chassis is going to be with the specs it was originally ordered (shelf over the front compartment and Webasto controls above the rear view mirror), the new Grand Canyon interior will not mechanically fit the chassis (doesn't have the shelf so the interior (including inside roof in the front where the Webasto controls are) is made from different parts). So hopefully at least that has been thought about by Hymer.

As the new model is going to lack something we absolutely wanted (and most models didn't have that), I think I'm gonna call around tomorrow and ask if there is anything in the line we can buy some day in the next 6 moths.

I ordered a Burstner Lyseo Harmony 690 this is on a Fiat Automatic 140PS in September 2021, for delivery in Jan, then April 2022, then Feb 2023.
It was a dealer pre-ordered/allocated vehicle but I could change the specification - so the vehicle was already allocated to the dealer at the time of ordering if you see what I mean.
I just spoke with the dealer today, I called them as it is only a couple of months until end of February 2023. I was told the vehicle is 'in transit' and due for delivery in February 2023. I was given a chassis number. Can someone post any interesting web sites that I can use this number on to find out details of my van?
If you are expecting something similar it might be worth a call your dealer for an update but it appears the February 2023 date is a good one.

Hi Moose29,
When you say "in transit" do you mean from FIAT to Burstner, Kiel or to the UK from Burstner. If its the latter I'd expect it to be quicker than 6 weeks. I've been waiting a near identical time for mine from Burstner and the last update was wk7 build by FIAT. If that happens 🤞 it will be pretty much 18 months from order to final delivery. Although knowing its built and then having to wait another 6 weeks for it to get to the UK will be a killer.

Great news. Once you have a chassis number you have certainty on it being real and now at least won't be cancelled. I am hearing of issues with logistics and certificates of confirmity, registration etcwhich still might cause a delay.

Met up with a mate yesterday who has an Audi on order since summer 2021. Likely to be his last new aspirational car type of purchase at £60k so top spec. It's still in their system but the specification level and a lot of the extras and packages he purchased are no longer available so he really has no idea what we will be offered when it works it way through their system.

My Carthago, ordered in September 2021 has now been put back a few weeks to April 2023. The 160hp I ordered (and which Carthago said I could have) has been dropped but I’m getting the 180hp instead. In all honesty i won’t believe any of it until I see it in the flesh.

Sadly I found that the MY22 Fiat Chassis number told me very little. Although conforming to the International standard, Fiat for whatever reason fill the number with loads of 0's where specific numerals or letters could give more detail about the vehicle.

I ordered a 160bhp auto which I've been told numerous times will be honoured but can't see it myself.I would not be happy compromising with a 140bhp so fingers crossed

My Adria Compact was delivered to the German dealer yesterday with a 160bhp auto just as ordered in August of 2021.

My Adria Compact delivered 01/12/22 was specified in October 21 with the 160bhp engine and 9 speed auto and that’s how it’s turned up. While we waiting Fiat deleted the 160bhp from the lineup and when I queried it with the dealer - Chelston, Wellington, who were very accurate with other information - they stated that unless it was indicated otherwise on the Adria Dealer Portal, orders would be as specified due to forward batch delivery of vehicles from Fiat until further notice.

Did you also benefit from ‘price protection’ as we previously discussed?

The 160 auto as I've ordered is still on the Burstner configurator, I've just checked.

Oh they have, there’s specific models that have disappeared, some options have gone and every price has gone up massively
That doesn't mean they got everything right when they updated it, e.g. Carthago site updated a lot of theirs but most of the photos and 360° are 2022 models.

Elddis (Hymer UK) are not showing any prices at the moment, and state "orders taken in Mar 23 for delivery Autumn 23"
All the gallery pictures are the older series 7 vans.
I've had an order in since week 1 Jan 22 - delivery 'expected Feb 23' . . but not holding my breath

I guess the two people who work at the factory are doing their best !!!

After reading all this i'm glad we never ordered a new van last year and stuck with a 2nd hand 1 owner van instead that i could actually buy instead of just a deposit and a dream .

Agreed Lenny but you'd half expect a major supplier to have their configurator correct at the time of ordering for both the dealer and buyers sake.
Just had another play on the site and there are certain models where the 160 + auto isn't available to order, only the 140 + auto but other later spec models where it is available. That said the 140 + auto was only available upto 3850gvw where as the 160 + auto is showing on weights above 3850 and upto 4400gvw.

I had two quotes on the Carthago we were are buying both were about 8/9k more than I was expecting. The dealers use an online configurator for generating quotes. It was me that found out their configurator was wrong. It was taking the new updated price and adding the price of the 180 hp engine, the Auto box & large second garage door onto the price, these items are standard on the 2023 models. If they can't even get the dealer's configurator right no chance for the public.

Hello Blue Moon, I'm not sure whether my Burstner is completely built. I assume they can start the paperwork for transiting the van to the UK before it is actually complete. I'm expecting another update in mid-January which probably means I'll be contacting the dealer end of January. I think the van will be in the UK in January for dealer prep and UK registration. I was told yesterday I could have the van in February but will probably wait for a 23 plate on 1st March. I'm expecting a call when the van is at the dealers so I can view it and be upsold whatever I have forgotten to add.

Out of interest what model of Burstner have you ordered? I think you've ordered in September 2021 - same as me so it will have been about 18 months for both of us.
