Hi, I am awaiting a new Adria PVC which should have been here last October but keeps on getting put back on a monthly basis. Now end of June and I don’t believe it will come then if I’m honest. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if it finally arrived in 2023!

Trying to get any information of the true delay situation from the manufacturers, let alone information that you can trust to be correct and up to date, I am finding impossible. Nothing on the news for Europe but some in America Re shifts being closed at factories there from 2 to 1 a day, but that is about Stellantis car plants I believe.

The delays all appear to revolve around Stellantis production in Italy at their Sevel plant but still none the wiser as to specifically why. Saying the Pandemic repeatedly does not do it for me now.

I would just like to get some honest understanding of why the monthly delays continue and I think all Fiat based manufacturers are pretty much the same.

I wanted to start this Thread for comments from anyone who has got confirmed news or information, rather than rumours and speculation, although if my experiences are the same as others no one will be able to confidently add an update, but here goes 👍🏻

Regards in advance if anyone can add anything

That is an old model. The badge is wrong on the wing. Probably an old stock photo being used.
You say yours has gone back again. Can I ask the latest date for production. As we have ordered similar spec vehicles I can the expect a similar call from my dealer.
So Burstner went away to decide on realistic dates not continual changes
We were then told it would be built in November and available at the dealers December
Now it has changed to January or February date

I’ve just been looking at motorhomes on line and came across a 2023 model up for sale
We are still waiting for our 2022 model which has just been put back again 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yes I've seen other examples of 2023 stock coming in and for sale.I can only think some manufacturers have more leverage with say Fiat than others

Have you seen them on the dealers forecourt or on their websites?

Plenty of dealers are advertising 2023 models ‘now available to order’ but are only just now receiving their 2022 consignments which were ordered in 2021. Our October 2021 dealer pre-ordered Adria Compact arrived just over a week ago and there was another almost identical model delivered at the same time, which I see is now up on the website as ‘demo vehicle in stock for viewing’ with the expected ‘2023 Available to Order’ also appended to the webpage. (Chelston).

Something I’ve also noticed is that MoHo builders are not changing the 2022 specifications for some models in their ranges for 2023, presumably as they’re playing catch up with existing orders and base vehicle manufacturers are still having component supply issues. As an example, the demo Adria I viewed last year had the full digital dash, but the one delivered has analogue instruments along with some updated digital components. I’m certainly not bothered about it as I’m more interested in the fact that it has the electronic handbrake fitted which means the drivers seat doesn’t foul when rotated.

We ordered an Adria Twin at the Birmingham show, delivery June 23, we shall see! Had a good chat with the dealer about recent delays. He said that in terms of priority the motorhome manufacturers are way down the list. The motorhome industry only accounts for 2% of the Fiat Ducato market so it tends to be the one that gets chopped when they are struggling.

So when you consider the influence any single motorhome manufacturer has over Fiat, speaking as a Supply Chain Manager and Procurement professional, that is clearly a very unbalanced relationship and one fraught with risk. I've already seen an increase in the number of converters using other platforms, so looks like hard lessons have been learnt.

The picture on their website showed it there.
However when I looked at it again it had a handbrake and smaller screen that the 22s shouldn’t have never mind the 23s
So I’m thinking they’ve just put a picture up

That’s almost reassured me. I was last told Jan production, Feb delivery.

Just had a look at the Burstner on that website. It's advertised as a 2023 model but the dash and the auto gear selector are an earlier version ?

Yes = that is the older 2021 dash. However, they are not lying. If it is not registered yet it could be 2023. Maybe the habitation is Burstners 2023 model but on a 2021/22 Fait base.

Yes but it is always changing
We were told that at the show by a Burstner rep who went off and checked
I’m hoping it’s true but but the date before that was supposed to be realistic
We booked a couple of things based on it coming so hope it does come this latest date

No idea though the 23 models at the show had the right dash and electric handbrake

Just looked again
The pictures are of one of the 22 demo models that had the 21 dash and handbrake

I suspect we will be seeing quite a few mongrel vehicles for a while

Well mine is at the dealers and as we are away Highbridge sent us a couple of piccys as evidence! Will pop along to view it on return in about 10 days to check the spec. I ordered which will be interesting. Will post as soon as I know.

Looking at a few threads they're definitely coming out of the blockage now. Mine - Adria Compact Supreme DL 160 auto (ordered July 21) has a chassis allocated with a due delivery by the end of December.

You’d like to think so as some manufacturers have moved away from fiat cabs

We were informed this week that our Hymer Exsis (Fiat chassis) is going into build & should be ready end Dec. It will now not be built with an oven (as per dealers original spec). The loss of an oven is considered a positive by us as we didn't want one anyway. However we have decided to cancel anyway now as we are happy with our used Carthago bought in the summer when we got fed up waiting. Our deposit has been refunded👍.

Understandably dealer was surprised we were giving it up & thought we might still want it to buy & sell on as dealers price will be going up substantially. Tbh that's not of interest to us. So now settled with our decision & will progress with getting lithium & inverter fitted to the Carthago before we go to Spain 😁

Collected the Rapido Dreamer today!(16 months from order) All the spec I ordered was in place including full digital dash, only change was a Pioneer 9" Touchscreen Nav/Radio instead of Alpine, all functions are the same.
Very thorough unhurried handover by Highbridge. Full tank of adblue and half a tank of fuel. Registered with DVLA on the day giving me the full 14 days to obtain the Fiat extended warranty.
One point of interest was that on my 2 inspections before collection I could only find one 240v socket when there should have been 2.
On speaking to the engineers they said the second one was in a bathroom cabinet which they have to blank off as not allowed apparently in bathrooms under UK regs. It is common with not just Rapido and they have to blank off several other continental makes where there is a socket in the bathroom.
So I requested the cable was re routed to a usable location of my choice which they willingly did. So a heads up for others perhaps as had I not asked I would have just been left with one.
Pleasant short drive home with the very smooth auto. Strange not having a rear view mirror when I could see through the rear doors windows if fitted. Might fit one myself but the reverse camera can at the touch of a button revert to rear view on the move on the touch screen which is useful.
Next stop Vanbitz, which fortunately is just down the road, for Growler, Non Starter, Tracker and as much Solar as will fit.

Dealer being pedantic if you look in Hymers & Carthago's and various other imports you will find they have them

Brilliant, at last👍. I'm pleased for you & great to know you had a good handover. Enjoy your new van.

I suspect you are right, they do the same to their Hymers as well. A 240v socket in an upper toilet locker would have been next to useless for us. I now have it where it is most useful and when there are only 2 thats important. At least they were willing to move it without question. Not sure if any other dealers do the same but for Highbridge customers something to look out for.

Great news! (y)

We collected our Adria Compact from Chelston in Wellington yesterday and ran it straight up to Vanbitz for all the gubbins to be installed today. It’s now sitting on the drive and I think (hope/pray!) that I’ve managed to set up all the Fiat and Adria/Truma electronics correctly! I’ll make a start on the Alugas and Teltonika installations over the weekend ready for a few days shakedown trip later in the week.

Our 2022 model Itineo (built by Rapido) has a 240V socket in the bathroom too, the dealer never mentioned it being an issue. If I recall correctly we had them in a Hobby & Benimar motorhome too.

We had 2 in reasonably accessible locations in the kitchen and dinette areas but our dealer, Peter Roberts, put 2 more in where we wanted them without a blink of the eye 😊
