Now in one of our Apt for the last 10 days of our stay. We ABnB this one so blocked the last 10 days for our use. Emirates Golf Club just accross the water..
Red and Black car is the new Toyota Crown, i believe it's will arrive in UK this year (not this one )

I-19 is the only interstate highway in the United States marked in kilometers. In 1979, I-19 was marked in kilometers because the United States was considering changing from the Miles to kilometers.
Speed limit is Miles per hour.
Seems odd they haven't changed them back in the 40+ years since.

Lunch beside Lake Taupo, North Island, NZ. Still a little snow on Mount Ruapehu. Strictly speaking this photo was not taken from inside the van because the windscreen is smeared with flies, but I stood in front of the bonnet.
We stayed overnight at Taupo Racecourse. It’s a park run by the NZMCA (Motor Caravan Association). There’s a dog kennels across the road and they didn’t stop barking, then, having been to the launderette in Taupo, there wasn’t a clothes line to dry my “smalls”, and added to the noise of the barking dogs was the aeroplanes taking off and landing every five minutes for the Gliding Championships that are being held in the middle of the racecourse. It was the worst $10 (£5) I’ve ever spent!
I ought to put up a ”photo of the inside of the van”, showing my smalls hanging from every cupboard handle and towels draped across the dashboard. Perhaps not.

That brings back memories. I did a tandem skydive over that lake in 2001.

First night stop in France - the municipal car park in Yvetot. 7 dedicated moho bays, most of which were occupied by contractors vans last night. This morning most of them had left and a camper van arrived. Great.place.for a quiet night's rest ( in winter) - 15 mins walk to Leclerc hypermarket and 10 minutes into town centre. Today was market day so lots to keep Sharon occupied.

Free parking at Sainte Maure de Touraine, just beyond Tours. Lovely spot, 1 street back from the main road. Lovely quiet night until woken by the church bells tolling, but it was at 08:00 so no hardship. Found a rather strange bar-cum-deli that sold a lovely IPA and some rather nice Ravioli that we had for supper. Not sure I would want to stay here in the summer though - looks like a magnet for kids to congregate.

Nice free parking spot to the rear of the church in Pissos, about 80kms south of Bordeaux. 6 other vans already parked up when we arrived. Although it was a Sunday night, we found a bar and a pizza take away that we're open so that was supper sorted!
Nice boulangerie and a Carrefour express, both of which opened at 08:00 on Monday morning.

Spent last night at Gran Camping Zarautz, first parking we have paid for. Sharon has to wash her hair every 4 days and the Moho water tank is no way big enough to cope with that. Lovely place, all the facilities we needed for 24 euros Inc ehu with ACSI card. Nice view over Zarautz too.

Looks a better option for a staging post than the aire at San Sebastian. May give that a go.

Tonight we are staying on Zamudioko Autokarabanen Ermua outside Bilbao. 11 other vans and moho's here when we arrived. Train station with regular service into Bilbao 10 mins walk away. Supermarket, bars and shops on the main road above the car park. And it's 17oC at 17:00 local time. Hard to believe it's still January.

We wanted to visit San Sebastian but the reviews on S4S were all about break- ins so we gave it a miss.
