'Lovely' little carpark overnight stop in Italy a few miles from Portofino. That's the Italian equivalent of the M25 above me!! Constant traffic noise can be surprisingly soothing at night.

I find the constant noise of traffic relaxing when I sleep too, but strangely I adore being in the Galloway Forest with nothing but owls hooting.

Hi, it’s the Marina Esplanade car park in Ramsgate.
£11 for 24 hours, with 4 dedicated MH bays. Here’s another pic taken from a different angle.

BTW The Aire above also has immaculate toilets and showers included in the price. Ideal first or last stop for Calais.

We discovered this place last year. Since then they have converted a dead end basin into a lovely marina and work is still going on. There’s a pizza place at the entrance and the enterprising owners have their daughter’s ( I think) coming round selling baguettes. A short walk along the canal into a nice town with all the amenities. There’s also cycling along the canal. A great stopover for crossing the channel or a couple of days exploring.

Sorry, should have clarified.

The NT campsite at Great Langdale.

Not free, not by a long way! Not even an NT member's discount! But nearly all the campervan /motor home pitches were taken.

No staying overnight in the NT or Lake District Authority car parks, at least not in Langdale.

I love Langdale. Great walking area. The Old Dungeon Ghyll pub at the end of the track is a fantastic old place with huge open fireplace and Theakston Old Peculiar on draught.

It was on good form and very welcome after our hike on Friday!

Plus it's the only place you can get WiFi

Lovely day, just been for a 5 mile walk. Picking up a breakfast from the bus soon and ready for Aberdeen v Rangers along the road tomorrow....
