Called out by VAR apparently. Suspect the VAR suite up here is a Masonic enclave in reality!

For anyone interested I did need a tow off, the site has a 4x4 pickup which provided the necessary traction

Hoover Dam return Arizona to Nevada.
Nowadays you can only enter onto the Hoover Dan from Nevada side, after passing though "customs like security" you cross and then have to turn around in one of the parking areas or end of the road and come back across.

Those bollards and wire catch ropes weren't there when we were last there.
Do they still have the different times on the towers?

When we went I parked in the car park then just walked down, no sign of any security

Yes on the 2 water inlet towers.

We did the tour in 1991 when we 1st visited.
Security is a mile before the Dam.
Seems new security infrastructure was commissioned to be built in 2017 so installed after our last visit in 2017.
I think there was a basic control point from either side.
