A photo of the day thread

What is this a Gay Pride carnival that you are going to.....;):)

While there is an element of the gay pride thing going on , ok quite a lot of the pride thing going on it is a spectacle to behold ,the work that goes into the floats and costumes is unbelievable and we where told it’s the second biggest festival in the world . We arrived at 4pm and the procession was still going past us when we left at 9 pm. We where warned not buy beer from the pop up bars but we did 30 euros for 4 beers lol you live and learn

Looks a nice spot @Zepp - we're beach parking at Torrevieja

Absolutely fantastic sunrise this morning. It was good being back on my manor after 2 weeks away in the van. Laika the wonderdog , enjoyed scenting everything she sniffed .

Our pitch for tonight is at the Aire at Deltebre just where the River Ebre or Ebro flows into the Med at Tortosa forming a large area of fertile land where they grow allsorts including rice.
The scene may look familiar from @Lenny HB posting....

That's because we are parked right next to him and his wife!
Free Aire, no services, but they are available at the sister Aire abt 1 km away.
Lovely location next to the (I think) longest river in Spain.

Barry

The last time that I was there, in 2006, this was the bridge:)

The ferry has been hauled out of the river and is now "parked" on the town side of the bridge.

I wonder if anyone would have put a Concorde or Morelo on it to get to the Aire?

I don’t know about that but in about 2003/4 we arrived at the river, having followed SatNav, in our m/h.

We were faced with “a plank of wood” as my wife described it. Our Swift Gazelle filled the ferry to the point that we could not get out of the cab without falling into the water.

The fantastic thing was that the “ferry” was totally carbon neutral, even then.

It was attached to cables strung across the river. By pointing the bow upstream water flow against the side of the raft pushed the ferry across in one direction. Pointing the bow downstream pushed it back across.

My main memory was of the ferryman standing in front of us waving his hands furiously to tell us to move left or right to balance the raft.

Brilliant device though.

Looks nice Barry but don't rush back, woke to 2" of wet snow here this morning :(

Thanks Graeme,
Our son sent us some pictures from home yesterday. He was well pleased with the snow as he has just started lambing

We are trying not to rush back. Just arrived at the Aire at Castelnaudery on the Canal due Midi.

Had to try and remember where the windscreen wipers were. Don't think I have used them since October last year.

We have to use our last Frequent traveller trip by 19th March so we can take a few days yet to get to Calais.(y)

We drove through Castelnauderey earlier today, now at Soreze. Gave our wipers a workout earlier, haven’t seen rain for quite a while either.
We are taking a slow drive towards Bordeaux to stock up the wine cellar.
This was our spot last night. You just might see the van to the left of the village in the trees.

The bread man has just been on site can’t believe the state of the tyres but he is not worried he doesn’t drive far

My morning was planned out for me by eldest daughter. They are aged 2 1/2 and 4 1/2. Maybe she remembered my parenting skills. Both were alive and well last I could be bothered to check !

Weekend break at Burford. £18 per night for 2 including 18amp EHU.
Lovely Site. Used it last year for an overnight for a Wedding. Lovely little market town, but what a trek back up the hill after a few beers..:D2:D2

Waiting to board the ferry at Puerto del Rosario to Lanzarote then on to Cadiz.
The open deck kennels are not too bad with A/C and water taps dog walks are every 2-3 hrs until 11pm.
Charlie enjoying a couple of days R&R at Roche.
