Tyres replace. Excellent service from Terry and his mate. Put tyre off spare and put it on my steel rims.

Five minutes of assorted motorised support & emergency vehicles, motorbikes and one fire truck (?) and about 30 secs of pedal power .
I'm not sure I'd spend hours waiting by the roadside for that brief circus.

I wonder what the carbon monoxide emissions (briefly) do to the normally fresh village air as that monstrous cavalcade passes through the rural countryside .

Cycling a healthy alternative - do me a favour .
You forgot to include all the farting from the spectators. :)

@DBK , One does not pass flatus in this part of Cumbria :whistle:

Out with Laika the wonderdog this morning at Tower Bridge and came across a flock of pink flamingos. They all had a label tied round their necks. It turns out they were advertising the company’s moving.
Then the gardening manager arrives and declares that it’s gorilla advertising and hence the piles of flamingos. The company was trying to get away with a free space. Funnily enough waiting to be off loaded from a truck was a dinosaur , for a promotion of Jurassic Park.
Plenty of wildlife in London.

I hadn't realised until very recently it is possible to add videos to Google maps. Sadly my first attempt is dire - I must try to remember to use a tripod next time :) However, I uploaded a video yesterday and it has now been added to Google Maps. Google will cut them to 30 seconds and this one was a bit longer than that which is why it doesn't quite do 360 degrees, but hopefully my next one will be a bit better. :)

I can get it to work on my PC but for some reason it didn't work on my tablet this morning. Not sure why not.

Look for the picture of the balanced stones and click on it.

Edit to above: My video seems to have vanished! I shall try again some time - but with less camera wobble. :)

Bought some compost/horse poo in a bag...

An interesting aroma wafted from the bag...

Sort of earthy and rustic.

Far more acceptable than the usual smell in the van...

JJ

The van looks tidy (ish) too. Is a French person on their way?

Geraint Thomas and Chris Froome will be finishing today's stage on Alpe D'Huez, after passing through Bourg d'Oisins way below. This is me, exactly one week ago....therefore I like to think I won the stage by a clear 7 days.

It's a long old slog, not made any easier by using the old camping bike. Hopefully the Pros don't make it look too easy. This photo was taken on the way back down... much easier... and cooler.

Well the drone made it into the air for the second time today and I took a few stills and some video. All a bit lacking but it can only get better. Below is a picture of Fanny basking in the afternoon sun. It is about 32°C here and I am sitting in the shade on Dennis and Sarah's terrace watching the tour with fingers crossed for team Sky.

There are a few more pictures on Fannying about in France in the France section of the Continental touring section. Well, there will be in a few minutes when I have posted this.
