Had a great walk up Ben A’an tonight with my nephew.

What a difference a day makes (so the song goes) bright sunshine and temperatures in the 30s yesterday.
Today, grey and with temperatures in the mid 20s. Still these "tournesols" make up for that.

Tomorrow looks promising and Sunday will move up to Col de Menté ready for stage 16 of the tour. Drove past this morning to check it out and loads of campers up there already. Hope I don't miss the boat for parking!

Cheers Clive

Left Frontignan Savès at 1055 this morning and arrived here at 1255. Distance 114 KMS. Now set up for Stage 16 of the tour on Tuesday. Parked just above the Col de Mentè at the ski station Le Mourtis. Already to many motorhomes on the Col to park there and more arriving here all the time.

I have sandwiched myself between a pile of gravel and the sign post so should be able to maintain and area to "operate" in. The old man is standing at the front, picture taken by Dennis. This is the first time I have used the wedges this year.

A view down the hill towards the Col de Mentè with low cloud on the opposite hill. I am parked about 4550 feet up according to my App. The temperature has been up and down since arrival with glimpses of the sun.

Last shot set up ready with the "Go Outdoors" outside oven set up for Fray Bentos pies tonight. Two more camping cars have arrived since I started this.

All the best Clive

Our pitch for tonight is the C&CC THS at Langholm Rugby Club in the Scottish Borders. An annual 9 or 10 night meet for the Common Riding.
£8 p.n. inc services plus hot water, toilets & showers if you want them & even use of a washing machine. A short walk into the town and as I write we can hear the brass band practising.

We were at the THS at Corbridge last night but there were too many "Young Adults" there so we moved on.

A murder in the garden - pretty unusual for London - never seen one before. I think it is a female Sparrowhawk - magnificent creature, although nature can be hard - RIP Blackbird!!

Good evening from Col de Mente, on my qwerty keyboard tonight so no accents. Waiting for the tour tomorrow took a stroll down to the Col this morning. Saw this superb wood carving.

The best part is the far end. Sadly the thing will not let me upload it.
Next a picture of activity down at the Col.

Then after such exertion Dennis and I needed a coffee. A number of what's app contacts have suggested we should smile, well it was all we could do to see ourselves in the phone thing.

It's no good when I do the Fannying about entry I must get back to my azerty keyboard.
