We dropped CAMC membership last year, because we were no longer prepared to pay their prices.
We're still CCC members. Currently at Beadnell Bay site £22 pn, non-electric grass pitch. Pitches with ehu were £42 pn. Site is in a great location.
Moving on from here to THS's at Ruswarp and Flamborough for a few nights each.
The THS's make membership worthwhile for us.
We're not missing the CAMC at all, and I don't envisage we'll ever rejoin.
Wow, those prices are way up there!

Apart from Setthorns which was Caravan Club until they handed it back, I have always preferred CAMC CL's as they are smaller and generally nicer (JMO) - whereas most were £20 now generally either £20 + electric which I'm happy with or £30+

We mainly use CL/CS sites but I've just booked some independent sites on pitchup so I may reconsider the club's next year

wow, those are crazy prices !
And they don't allow dogs.
Just spent two nights at ‘paws in the park’ event Ardingly, £46 in total, nice grass pitch , shower block, includes entrance to show, nice friendly stewards, settled so I could watch the agility from my pitch in the sun .
Obv they take dogs! Highly recommended.
Limited ehu available for a fee.
Think I’ll just seek out show/event camping !

Was in the ccc as it was cheaper to join and get the member discount for a 3 night stay! Let it run out though after using it once.
Still in the camc but letting it run out as I only became a member to use the London abbeywood site and now it will be in the ulez after August so not bothering to renew. Also it really pissed me off I couldn’t cancel the bloody magazine that I neither asked for or wanted!

CCC for us, quite a few years since we used main sites. The THS sites generally offer good value. Agree with a previous post, they are not clubs but businesses and don't start me off about their product reviews. Left the Caravan Club over 10 years ago when we bought a motor home.

Is that with 60+ discount at Beadnell bay as when I’ve looked to book, it’s £59.60 to 2 nights midweek for grass non-electric pitch.

We used Hillhead Brixham CMC for many years but not again due to cost. Now stay on independent sites at much lower cost.

I and plenty of others feel differantly about campsites taking the Urine .If everything put together has gone up 30 to 40 %.Then why have site fees gone up 90 %.We have just cancelled CMHC ,too much of a price hike .

Businesses aren't putting up their prices at the moment to take the piss. We have buy to let properties rented out now and the mortgage repayments are more than the rent we are getting.

That’s fair enough but you’re properties are also increasing in value.

The CAMC along with CCC are supposed to be cubs not businesses.
Run the same as a working man’s club with cheap beer etc.

Sell them ,not being funny .You or me can not afford to lose money in business .

We're members of the CAMC, but have never used the club sites, as appear to be massively overpriced, and poor value for money. Only reason we've renewed (and we nearly didn't this year) is that we use the CLs / CSs about a dozen times a year, but they too are starting to become poorer value too.

Member of both don't tend to use the club sites if we do its very occasionally, used to use as a discount for camping in the forest. Have found ourselves using the cl sites more often.
On one just now in Hay on Wye cracking spot.
Like everything don't use them if it's expensive but there must be plenty still visiting if they continue with those prices. Not for us I'm afraid.

It's very strange in my opinion that the top of the poll is folks on here who are in both clubs and the bottom one is neither.
I would have thought it would have been quite the opposite by a large margin.
Just why are people in both?

Could you add another category to your poll asking how many people have left? Might make them think this is serious.

I'm sure they are acutley aware of the number of non renewals. That said, post covid, there are so many more caravan and motorhome enthusiasts joining they probably don't notice or don't care.

When we write I'm pretty sure it will be the first time they have received a letter representing so many members, I'd like to think that it would carry more weight, but I won't hold my breath.

What we need is an expert who can read and understand their constitutions, you never know that if you can get enough people together maybe people can be deselected via votes. If members can and will vote you out of office you tend to take them more seriously.

Has anyone read the constitutions?

To be honest , just why does anyone need to be in any club.
There are thousands of sites and multiple apps to tell you where they are at far less money , I know some will come up with discounts, but why join them just to get your subscription back.
They are a well outdated thing going back to tents and caravans with no facilities, no need for any of that with motorhomes.

I get what you are saying we like to use the remote farm CL sites and you have to be in the "club" to book in on them. I am a scaredy cat I like the security of these sites and I am always worried of being attacked in the night. I'm afraid I have read far too many Stephen King horror stories:giggle:

Sorry Chaser - but for some of us, you're wrong
Motorhomers still need/want some facilities such as water/dump [EHU for some]
Every time I check out these 'private' sites they are invariably more expensive and then charge extra for having a dog.
Many have pointed to access to CL/CS and THS as reason to be a member.
Some of us don't want to be overnighting in a layby or carpark.
Security?
Convenience?
For less than a £1 a week.

Edited
I'm looking at going to St Neots next month - depending on weather
What do your Apps suggest?
For me at C&CC on the river, short walk into town, all the facilities, £15.75/nt including Kerry
