I fixed my front right Tyrepal sensor 🤪
Had the Compass in for an MOT & service this morning. Last night I’d made a halfhearted attempt to remove the TPMS sensors. At the 1st faffy step I gave up (pushing the rubber gator off), I knew there was no need to remove them for the MOT but wondered about the service.

Anyway, after collection the front right TPMS was 0psi.

I removed it, found nothing physically wrong, but refitted it worked again.
Coincidence or the garage removed the sensors for the service and didn’t tighten this one enough to release pressure. 🤷‍♂️

Next task is too stop a chimney leak with some CT1 I’ve got on click n collect at Wickes 😂

Well 3 days ago I fixed my drivers door seal. Ducato. Foyr inch of bottom end has become unattached from window pillar. I think frozen when I opened the door in the winter.
I used super glue gel as suggested on a fiat site. Dead easy to do but only held for 3 days. Any suggestions on adhesive I also tried gorilla glue without success.
Thanks
Chris
Try HAFIX professional glue from www.hafix.co.uk I bought it first at the Manchester Caravan and camping show, it will glue anything to anything and last ages.

finally replaced the stupid glass racks with the help of a friend who does CAD and access to a laser cutter. nice 4mm cast acrylic instead of the flimsy cr***y ones it came with. changed the design a bit too so no more wrapping them all every time we hit the road:giggle:

We carry a spare loo cassette which was being stored in a locker, but for the most part it's not being used and taking up locker space, so I have now made a holder for it to be stored under our van and swings down when we need to use it and store the full cassette until we find an emptying point.

Added a tyre pal sensor to spare, also pumped to front usage. Also proved i cpuld remove and replace it with extra stuff.
(Will be forced to find a new carpet as one i used smells)
Also changed batteries, now a happy bunny.
Two on Tour expect that to be copied. Not bought a second as no where to store it. For spares we use disposajohns

Nice job, just some observations/suggestions:
  • put a good quality black bin bag on the cassette before putting it underneath otherwise it will get very mucky (I speak from experience of having made a temporary underslung holder many years ago!).

  • stick some protective material (eg neoprene, silicone sheet, thin rubber etc) on the internal part of the carrier as this will help to keep the cassette secure and prevent it rattling and getting damaged, maybe also on the edges so that you don't accidentally cut yourself or scratch the cassette getting it in and out, especially when it's full.

  • make a protective cushioning pad to go on the top of the cassette before you push it up against the floor so that it can't 'bounce' and be damaged as the tube will be susceptible with it being higher than the rest of the cassette.

  • finally make sure you have a way to 'lock' it so no-one nicks it (yes even when 'full' )

Added a new 13A socket outlet close to where we use he toaster. Previously the lead had to cross the fridge door which was a bit of a nuisance.

Bullet point one - will be in a bin liner, but it does not make for a good photo. :giggle:

Bullet point two - all ready on the sides. (y) Does not show up too well in the photo, but 2mm butyl rubber sheet.

Bullet point three - already on the underside of the floor. (y)

Bullet point four - it's up under the van out of sight, so not to worried on that one. (y)

Annual Peugeot service carried out on Friday with the addition of a pair of front mud flaps. Met a guy with an Auto Sleeper recently who was impressed with the reduction of mud splatter since he had his fitted. My service centre charged me £46 for the set and fitted free.

Designed manufactured and fixed removable bike racks to the garage of the Centurion unlike the Liner there are no lashing rails on the walls of the bus to secure the bikes to.

Hymer door lock which wouldn’t open from the outside

Replaced 4 tyepal tpms batteries. 😁.
They did their job after me clipping a verge in Devon 2 weeks ago trying to avoid an hgv that was hurtling towards us Turned out a sharp rock poked a hole in the sidewall of the nearly new front ns tyre. Tpms bought us enough time to pull over safely & avoid potentially wrecking the alloy rim 😁

Hi all, just finished boxing up my newly acquired Sprinter based Hymer 680 1999 vintage after a few weeks of intense dismantling & repairing. Initial problem was the viscous coupling running most of the time, & to get at it i was going to have to strip the front out & at the same time check the front panel for corrosion. Found the coupling was at fault, but the condenser rad finning was blocked thereby restricting airflow to the cooling rad. Replaced the rads & coupling along with the serpentine belt. Its worth mentioning to anyone who has one of these to check the front crossmember as i found a few corroded patches with a few holes which were duly attended to (my Son is a coded welder so all done pukka). Water appears to lay on the front crossmember & is not always visible as there are 2 rads & an intercooler cluttering the space. so rust will form. It will also be neglected as it's a right work-up to do - but i enjoy a challenge if i know i stand a fighting chance! Much waxoyl & paint applied with fingers crossed.

So I followed Wildman’s advice and put sum kseel well blow me apart from all the rusty water stains under the bonnet you wouldn’t think it had happened watt the hell is that stuff probably gummed up the work’s but seem to have worked Frome stemming traction engine to purring petrol will give it would never have believed it if I hadn’t seen it my shelf a good run today to try it out on to eBay
I would have fixed air on if I could find the damn fuse

Horn had stopped working and was always feeble, checked it and it was dead.
so fitted these and got proper sound now.

I need to do something with my horn (Peugeot boxer) as it’s pretty feeble.
did you fit two of these and can you just use the existing horn wiring or do you need to wire differently?
thanks

MOT, new front OS wheel bearing, service and new cambelt. £750 😭 At least we can drive to Pembrokeshire with a couple less worries. 😬
340w solar panel has arrived too, so when it cools down a bit, I’ll be up on the roof fitting that, and the Puck 4g and new TV aerials.

I used both and just linked both horns, fitted extended wire to second horn.

Nice one, have you tried lifting it into place when full? I'm wondering if a piece of cord attached to the drop down end which is then threaded through an eyelet above would help you 'hoist' it up as it will be heavy, especially if you have to then try to push what appears to be the securing bar into place.

Oh, one more thing ... I think you have a problem with critters ... especially infamous 'arrow slugs' which have already invaded your MH!

Okay filled with water as a test, I'm starting to knock in a bit now, but it was not long ago I was lifting "A" series engine off the floor and onto the bench, and still have strong shoulder to swing it into position to locate the rod. :whew:

Replaced skylight rubber, £45 for 5 metre pack, and would you believe it 1/2 meter short:sneaky::unsure:

One of ours didn't have a rubber and rattled so I just used two layers of draught proofing stuff, cost £1 ... :imoutahere:

Fitted an in-line fuse and trip switch to the positive lead of the solar panel output, now it’s always going to be the last lead connected to the solar power controller box. Next job, re-fit the umbrella holder by the hab door!

Had a strikeback alarm fitted and a tow bar fitted {by me and my friend dummer and dummer} and by the way the towbar on my pvc fiat ducato 2021 didnt need drilling as insulation tape covered the hole i thought i needed to drill (y) (y) (y)

Our new Knaus arrived from Germany minus the black trim. Dealer is sorting it out whilst we awaiting for the DVLA to register the van.
