What have you fixed on your motorhome this week?

Best thing you can do ,especially on a transit 2006> as they are so close to the turbo when they start to block they destroy the turbo.
Agree. Same with the crappy tdci engine they fitted to the later Defenders.

Not what I have fixed but what I will have to sort out my sone put £100 worth of diesel in my water tank.
Bill
At least you can pump out the diesel and seperate it from the water easy enough. If you are lucky and the donut of a son didn't turn a tap on, it may be limited to changing just the tank and maybe the pump.

I won't turn the pump on thers sum water in it firs thing I will do is remove the diesel from the top of the water then drane the tank remove tank replace tank replace pipe work to pump should be ok.

First thing I done was removed pump fuse when he told me that was after I had chased him around the car park :Eeek:

Could be worse, I got roped into sorting out a diesel in the water tank cockup at a rally. The person that owned the van did not have any money to replace the tank, so we used washing up liquid and hot water twice followed by brewers citric acid. I could still smell diesel in the water and it had a sheen on the top. But the owner was delighted and even used it to brush her teeth after that

I worked on a rig whare what thay call drill water gos in it for the drilling unit flushing toilets showering.
It fresh water just not pot water.
Anyway thay somehow maneged to put 50 tones of red diesel in the drill water tank.
Worked on that rig for about three years and went back abut a year later.
And diesel could still be smelt in the water coming out the showers

Any update buddy

Serviced the C200 thetford cassette, new main seal, o rings, lots of cassette spray and sparkling like new. Not bad considering it’s 16 years old 👍🏻

Finally got around to fixing the blind in the hab door. The string had worn through and snapped, even though the van was less than a year old at the time. Could have warrantee claimed it, but it's a 4 hour round trip to the dealer.

There's about 2 metres of cord in there and it's really fiddly. I got pieces round the wrong way twice, so had to keep disassembling it again, so went through a lot of adhesive tape on the sides.

Nothing!
Why?
Because after 14 months since purchasing from a dealer in Newark whose name does NOT start with "B" I still don't have a working table. I know there has been covid and supply shortages and parts need to come from Germany, but I can't accept it when a company does not reply to emails and I have to do all the chasing.

I never quite understand why these blinds need a complex set of strings. Surely it merely requires anchoring at one end and fixing to the slider bar on the other. It can just run in the tracks. What am I missing?

The string arrangement forces the bar to stay level so it can't drop out of the side rails. The arrangement also causes enough friction for it to sit in whatever position you leave it. But this friction also causes the wear that means they fail pretty frequently. You could potentially put pulleys in it to reduce the wear points, but then you'd probably need a clutch mechanism to prevent it dropping... More complexity!

The bar just needs some friction surfaces sufficient for it to grip.
For narrow blinds like my door, that'd totally work. But for wider windows, with just side rails alone, I suspect the top bar would never quite be level, and it'd be quite noticeable which would annoy a lot of people.

Warm air heater outlet, today I had a look at our seating that can be a bed as we are taking the grandson (4) out next weekend for a couple of nights as promised, it was whilst looking under it I noticed the first of the 2 outlets under this seat was not connected to the hose but there was a Tee piece in the hose but not near outlet, so with a bit of cutting n shutting and joining bits together it's now connected, I cant believe it been like it from new, it could of been a previous owner, very odd, not had the heating on barring giving a quick go back in May when we first got MH, mind you I have turned the toilet hatch through 180 degrees as it open up and not down like all the other MH I have seen and it was like it from new as the hole pattern top - bottom are different, it made cassette removal awkward with door wanting to drop down.

Airbag EUC refitted after being reset by Crash Data.
About to send mine off (again) this week. Did you find out what error caused your problem in the report from Crash Data?

Well not fix in the proper sense but fitted a new double DIN radio/sat nav thingy as the old one was Android 8 and a bit slow to keep up, so this one is android 11 and a lot faster plus it came with a DAB box add on as we got fed up with FM radio dropping signal whilst out driving across country, it was a quick swap only had to fit DAB aerial down side of front windscreen and route cable into dash, installed the DAB app plus Sygic truck on it, has Google maps etc but you can put MH size in Sygic, had it on the old one
got a link to the head unit youve used?

Had the dreaded spring issue in an FAP M1 internal door lock mechanism over the weekend, ordered one while away and it came today .....fitted and as good as new....now to strip the old lock and see about making some springs...then I can help others with the same lock.... also....washed the motorhome down after the very messy salty roads.... clean and ready to go again...
Are you still selling these springs please if so could you email me thank you
