What have you fixed on your motorhome this week?

Not me personally but last Sunday the lovely Andy63 fit a battery monitor and wiring for an inverter. No excuse now not to take the e bike when off grid!!!

Just replaced the front disc pads, replaced the shower curtain, cleaned and remade the battery neg to earth connections ( again, blooming Fiat electrics!) and spent nearly all weekend cleaning and polishing the roof. Those black spots are a bugger to get off but discovered a bit of elbow grease, sugar soap and an old credit card did the trick.
( any black spots you see now are flies!)

Using a hydraulic engine crane, Mr Wild Bill?

What a Woosie...

In the good old days, your run of the mill home mechanic would lift the unit up using a rope around his shoulders... (y)

I took the 6 cylinder engine out of my old mk 1 Zephyr many years ago using a plank of wood between the wings to stand on and a rope around the engine and round my shoulders.
Is there any other way?

I lifted the front of a steam roller with one arm tied behind my back when I was younger, couldn't lift a mamod steam engine now.

John.

@Wildbill How much did the shafts have to be shortened Bill ?

I fitted new rear brake shows last week. Talk about doing a job twice . I should have changed them when I renewed the hand brake cable the week before !:D2

Yesterday the water pump for H&Cold was playing up so had that out this morning. Over caravanaslorca & got new seal kit & reassembled run & tested all ok.(y)

It's Ben a fairly intense job.
Nerve wracking at times.
Cutting in to the dashboard then welding box section to the cross member .
Just the thought of it scared the crap out of me a bottel cheap coke with some farry and a two mintos as a fire extinguisher
Just in case
Not needed in the end but reddy
Glad that one is over

Good day today took advantage of a break in the rainy weather to make and replace a broken coil spring on the habitation door top latch mechanism, it is the second one as the lower latch spring sheared last year, clearly the original springs are not up to it. Springs are not available from the dealer however you can get each mechanism for £90+ :Eeek:
Also fitted a combination external socket.

I had the wonderful Camper Monkeys come round and replace my kaput 12 volt socket - Steve is marvellous! Anyone within striking distance of Oxford - take note!!

Replaced my broken window stays:)

Also de-scaled the fresh tank and now the level indicator works once again.

Even managed to clean the grey tank and the level indicator now works for the first time in 5 years:)

That's a job I've got to do but I need the get the MH up on some ramps so I can crawl underneath

Repaired the door bin after loosing the last "gripper" on the right hand side; after an unexpected slam of the door from a gust... o_O

Tie-wraps are one's comrade... (y)

(Now have door tethered with bungie when open)...

We have a pair of speakers over the island bed. Lying in bed having a coffee I realised left hand speaker wasn't working....

Got my self sorted and then took off the cover and removed it....not connected!!!

Only had the van a year and never noticed :)

Fished inside the panel opening and found the wires and connectors. Easy fix but annoying...

Good Quality Control (theirs and mine!)

Fixed the fridge door hinges, they had come loose and the door was dropping. Also fixed the locking mechanism, they seem very flimsy.

I'm assuming you mean the de-scale.

I simply added some of this (well 14 boxes to be honest) and left it in the tank after running it through all the pipes and heater.

Then ran the pump and filled up the grey tank, so did the 2 tanks in one hit.

Then simply flushed it all through as clean as a whistle:)

Might prevent you having to gain access from a ramp?

2 Roof vents last week, TV aerial today. Thought I had trouble with the Signal booster not working.

I had the damned thing turned off, smarty pants Maureen sorted it, don't think I live it down for a while:LOL:

Adding some fans to the fridge.

The compressor cupboard gets very hot so a little ventilation can help.

Also coming up is small internal Fan to chill me wine quicker

It already works well but hopefully this Will make it more efficient in Croatia week after next
