What have you fixed on your motorhome this week?

Replaced the 2 leisure batteries with 2 115ah ones from Halfords.

Discounted at the moment, so £80 off the pair and 2 year warranty:)

Fixed, or rather fitted, an external gas filler to my camper! :)

Just fitted my 1000w inverter and isolator switch to the leisure battery, now we can charge the mini Dyson and laptop whenever we like.
Also fitted led bulbs to the rear side lights ( I had some left over from kitting out the winnebago with led lighting) They look good and much brighter than the old ones, I need to get some for the front now.

It's a Bestek 100w inverter ( not pure sine wave) I've had it for 3 years and been very pleased with it.

And one of these. Got both from Amazon and also the cables.

Ah ... now I understand why you went to Ikea! :D

Finally found the cause of the grey water smell in the wardrobe on my Hymer, removed the the cover where the sink waste pipes go into the grey tank and the final elbow on the bathroom sink pipe had split.
Temporary (permanent!) fix with sikaflex and no smell this morning:)

Fixed the pull up blind in the bedroom. Replaced the 240v socket that some numpty had fitted to the worktop, with a wall mounted one. Replaced the broken bedroom sink drain. Removed the big chrome spinney thing in the kitchen giving loads more worktop room. Fixed the chrome trim over the rear number plate back on after it fell off whilst washing the van. So not much really.

No we were looking for a new television unit, bought one from Curry's in Hull. Nice day out though. Didn't think about van bed till we got home, were on our way back from storage after removing a slat. Can't find any long enough, might remove the lot.

I put 2 new handles, catches on my windows!! Well pleased!! The start of a long list of niggles I have neglected to sort out over the past year!! I'm amazed how most of my niggles are window related!!! Or inside on the plastic frames!!

Well, more like over the last few weeks.Replaced u/s half shaft support bearing .
New sump gasket ,oil, diesel & air filters, +oil.
Fabricate & weld up new back exhaust box & exit pipe along with supports.
Sunday afternoon dismantled all guards & covers & aligned timing marks:) for changing cam shaft oil seal Monday.
Monday spent 8 hours changing cam seal & fitted another new timing belt. Anything that could go wrong did. Run & tested all ok.Left on ramps for Tuesday
When I checked & greased inner/outer cv joints.& checked wheel bearing on the side I had to remove recently. Then took it for 110km test run .All ok.
Today . Removed Fiamma water pump sticking on occasions. Cleaned checked & refitted. Probably needs a new micro switch sometime.:)
Remove top cam belt cover & just check belt.
Just leaves , tomorrow hopefully, replace rear handbrake cable to both wheels. That ¡s after I borrow the 30" axle stands to support the rear end.
Now everything is done it must be time to change !

Fitted a new kitchen tap. The old one had sprung a leak, I did fix it but all the components were looking tired, so decided to replace it, since all the drawers were out anyway...
While putting the drawers back, I tightened a few loose screws, made some adjustments to the drawers' locking mechanism, just made it all work a bit 'better' than before.
Next simple job is to update the software and apps on the android head unit (best done at home with fast, unlimited wifi)
Still putting off the dreaded spring clean... the inside's not too bad but the outside is borderline embarrassing

A nice strip down and investigation into what on earth my nine year old daughter did to the toilet to jam the mechanism and to stop it sealing when closed.

Seem she "poked" as it wouldn't flush .....

At least it's all really clean now.( I deep cleaned it a couple of months ago ) And I can get The bit I need ....

Fitted 7 new sockets, 6 in the lounge and 1 in the bedroom. Built a raised platform one side of the rear bed with lift off top so the space under becomes storage. built the same the other side but in 2 parts forming double steps so brenda can get into bed safely. reinforced the bed mechanism as the wind up part in the garage seems vulnerable to damage as 2 metal parts were slightly bent when we bought it and we are not lightweights. built a dog gate for the door so we can leave the hab door open for ventilation and our nearly blind girl is kept in safely. ran new cabling and switch gear so we can watch sky from a concealed box utilising the oyster satellite dish. descaled the boiler and water system.
its been a busy couple of days

Fitted some usb charge sockets, one near Angela's bed as she likes to read in bed till stupid o'clock on her iPad and one near the dresser where stuff gets stored..... Ok, dumped as its a flat surface and all flat surfaces in our Moho must be utilised by dumping stuff on them :LOL::LOL:

fitted two new leisure batteries.

Spent a lot of time unblocking the kitchen sink drain without success, to find the reason it would not drain is because of the slope I was parked on. Water doesn't flow uphill very well, the sink is near the front and after a drop to floor level the pipe just runs along the floor under the furniture and then drops through the floor into the tank. Just went up on levelling ramps till level and it drains fine . I had even booked it in to Johns Cross to have it looked at, what a plonker

The weeman goes home tomorrow :(
Who gona help me now flys back to Leeds Bradford gone miss him

Fixed? Oh dear, where do I begin?...

First, it's Udo's viscous cooling fan not locking-up at higher engine temperatures. Two brand-new genuine MB viscous fan units have failed to work. Read that as duff. Installed a new MB radiator and water pump as precautionary measures. Now waiting on a THIRD genuine MB viscous unit from Germany... Not hopeful, so have an electric cooling fan kit waiting to be ordered as a backup. I may end up buying and fitting it anyway as my confidence in these viscous units has been obliterated.

Whilst the radiator was out, a few other front-end engine bits were replaced. There's a small damper and a tensioner that were on their ways out. Amid that, a transmission cooler pipe then decided enough was enough and that went. So that was replaced. And then a metal cooler pipe on the other side of the transmission also went, so that also got replaced but with a custom armoured flex-hose from Pirtek.

I reported a while ago that Udo was unstable in crosswinds, so ended up having his front suspension replaced last week. I had the original 2-leaf parabolics re-radiused and had an extra leaf put in as well. Net effect is that he sits a good 2-3" taller at the front and is so much steadier. But that took two trips. One was a waste of time as the chap promised me he could do the fitting and then his fitters went out on another job and that was that - a tank of diesel and 200 miles for nothing... And then taking ages to find another spring specialist with a workshop who could do - was willing to do - it. It felt like asking for the impossible at times.

And then, to top that lot off, Udo then developed a vibration from underneath somewhere. Conjecture revealed either the front wheel bearings, engine mounts or propshaft were to blame. The latter , it turned out, needs replaced. Not a surprise, as I had my suspicions about the prop last year as it was looking rusty at each end. I spoke to a propshaft specialist about it and he advised me not to worry and only do something when things started to vibrate. Well, 6 months and 700 miles later, they did...

I stress that I have not actually worked on any of the above, save for the Pirtek pipe, and have paid what will amount to three substantial King's ransoms trying to get the above rectified. I've used four garages. One was a 'commercial specialist' who charged the earth and doubled it and did a terrible job. One was a mobile MB mechanic who knows these old T1 410d's well and who I'll happily use again. One is my original MB specialist who is now looking after Udo once again and the other was an emergency stop to diagnose a fluid leak. I use the latter for Udo's MOT's as they're local, but they diagnosed the leak as coming from the power steering system when in-fact it was a transmission cooler pipe. Makes you wonder how on earth they could miss such a glaringly obvious thing, but at least they didn't charge me for the inspection and I'll use them again for the MOT work.

I really must write an update on this in the RMB section.

Hi, as the electric step only worked when it felt like it, wd40 or spray grease only worked for a couple of days. Removed step and all nuts and bolts, bushed which were seized. Scrapped clean refitted with grease and refit bolts and fitted new nylock nuts, replacing nuts and Spring washers. I was able to nip the nuts up but not over tighten. Smeared grease on moving parts. Works a treat now. I looked at the possibility of fitting a guard to protect from the muck coming off the road, not enough room. Possible mud flap nearer the front wheel??? Anyone done this.
