Bought a new and smaller table top for our dinette in the Renault Lunar Telstar, and postioned the leg a bit further in - so feet can get in too!! - now we can actually sit down and eat at it comfortably - the original table was too wide for the space - hell to sit at, and made our legs fight the cushions....also used the bed centre panel to make another temporary table with folding legs to use inside or out - all much more adaptable and comfy to sit at - RESULT!!!

I made myself some step mats and fitted an led strip in the garage.

That's good news, I had been wondering how you were(y)

Serviced the fridge .. I noticed on our last trip out ( to Plymouth ) it was not really up to snuff..
I had not realised it was a full year since I last did it.. 30 minutes and she is perfect again

Fitted three 100w panels to the roof to run 264 ah of batteries and a 1500w inverter.
The bricks on the roof are to hold the trunking in position while the sikaflex goes off. Managed to get done just ahead of the rain.

The sat dish if off at the moment, modifying it to a quad lnb it is nearly ready to go back up, if the weather holds may do it tomorrow.
@Sheddy which quad LNB are you going to use? Is your sat system an Oyster? If so which cable are you using? I ask as I changed mine to a twin LNB system over a year ago and used twin shot gun cable which only just got through the centre hole in the base unit, it was a very tight fit! I have bought some RG179 cable and intend to change it in a few weeks.

Polished out a scratch on the inside of a window, been meaning to do it for ages!

Replace the leisure battery and replaced a section of wire from the buzzer to the step warning switch, which those muppets at Autosleeper had fitted under the passenger door step so it got cut through. Luckily it did not short to earth or the buzzer would have driven us mad.

Just before the Newbury show, I installed a 36 ltr (18kg) Gas It refillable bottle system to replace the 2 x 6kg Calor bottles. Ideally I would have liked to have had 2 x 11kg bottles but there just wasn't the space inside the gas locker, so this was a good compramise.

After reading all about the pro's & cons of where to position the filler, I decided for both ease and convenience to mount it on the valance.

I then fitted the Gas It 9 LED contents gauge inside the motorhome so I can keep check of the gas level without having to looking in the gas locker.

Pete

Just fixed the top hinge on my Thetford ck1300 oven door which has been rattling since I got the van a few years ago. Added more thickness to the plate to form more depth for the hinge pin by pop riveting on an extra plate of metal and then drilled out the holes on both side to 5mm and then cut off the bottom of drill bit to act as the actual hinge pin. It is glued in to one of the plates to stop it falling through.

I originally took the dish off because it had seized the azimuth drive. I was going to change it, but when I stripped it down I found not only was it was easily repaired with new bearings but it was relatively easy to upgrade.
I used the thin twin WF65 cable and the quad LNB shown in the photos.
I only put the mechanism back on the roof today, the coil of wire is to go directly to the rear bedroom the other 3 feeds and control cable are fed through the existing roof hole but with new entry box and ducting.
I used right angle F connectors on the lnb and run 2 feeds either side of the lnb arm with new entry glands into the cover. I have plastic covers for the lnb the lower cover has been modified to accommodate the larger lnb, I will refit the covers after fine tuning the lnb for skew and focus.
There was sufficient room in the drive unit centre hole which I lined with a piece of 20 mm plastic conduit to prevent chaffing. The picture of the drive is before modification you can see the centre hole. The rust was as a result of a cracked cover which was repaired.
Cheers
Ed

Bought a Vectron battery monitor off of Don Quixote yesterday and nailed it in the van this morning ( had to do it quick so he can go through the set up with me... SOOOO much easier than reading the massive manual ! LOL !! )

Working my way through installing a Sterling B2B charger, 2 leisure batteries in an additional battery bank not wired through the Sargent and an inverter together with an extra 12 volt fuse box to run some cigarette and USB sockets. Currently only one cigarette socket in the van in the cab bedroom and none in the lounge! This year we have 2 of the 12volt breeze vans to cool us when its hot in Europe and I've promised the wife that she will be able to use her hair dryer and curling tongs even if we are not on a hookup as I had a couple of spare but oldish leisure batteries.

Sod's law dictated that as soon as put the old leisure batteries to us that one or other would pack up so after much deliberation I've just bought 2 Varta LFD 180 Amp Hour sealed leisure batteries as they are going to be installed under the bed and don't want to be asphyxiated or blown up by a gassing unsealed lead acid battery! £331.90p for the 2 from BatteryMegaUK on Ebay.

Just got to get it all done and the bits delivered in time before we go off on our European jaunt for a month!

Fix the hinge on a cubord door that was broken

Max had to fit a new water pump as the old one had given up the ghost and blown its fuse..... all working fine now ready for a couple of days away.

First outing of the year, filled the water tank but no flow through the taps but pump working. Went through all the usual rigmarole and then remembered a post from somewhere and removed the filters on the tap outlets and they were full of crud. Cleaned them out and hey presto they work. Now have running water for our weekend away. Sweet!

Just replaced the kitchen tap I am now a contortionist talk about a tight place to work .

The LCD display on our odometer was failing and no longer readable so had to disconnect it and send to USA for repair grounding the bus in the meantime. Sent it off on 19th May and got it back yesterday so all working again ready to go away this weekend yay :)

Currently only one cigarette socket in the van in the cab bedroom and none in the lounge! I have also bought and installed a NASA BM2 battery monitor which will provide voltage and amp information on both the cab and new habitation battery bank. This year we have 2 of the 12volt breeze vans to cool us when its hot in Europe and I've promised the wife that she will be able to use her hair dryer, brush designer and curling tongs even if we are not on a hookup as I had a couple of spare but oldish leisure batteries.

Batteries delayed and Battery Megastore UK had me worried when they said that delivery would not take place until Monday when we depart for Europe on Tuesday. They have pulled the stops out and they will now arrive tomorrow!

In addition to the above I have had the whole front off the Ducato to access the offside wing, remove it so that I can replace the puny horn with a twin Fiamm electric airhorn set. Now sounding a significantly improved warning and now powered by a new 2.5mm2 cable to the battery via a Fiamm relay! The existing 2 wires at the horn were no way powerful enough to drive the new twin horns so they operate the relay which lets the new powerful supply power the horns.

I have also fitted a twin computer fan kit to improve the fridge cooling. Sargent were very helpful to advise the colours of the wires to plug into to get an earth and a permanently live 12 volt positive supply close to the fridge freezer. Brown and yellow is the live positive feed and orange and white is the ground behind the bottom fridge grill on my 2010 Autotrail Savannah. I have set the fan controller to automatic operation as opposed to manual.

Going to have a check round Buffy over the next few days and fill any scratches on wall panels and furniture (don't think there are more than a couple of tiny marks), sew in any loose threads on cushions etc before she goes for her trade in. There isn't much as she is a pampered lady but we'd like to trade her in looking as smart as possible.

Having seen other vans of the same age with lower miles on them I know she looks good inside and out.

Whilst at the Bash terry fitted a new wee shelf for me directly under the telly..
Today I dug out the HD tuner I bought to supplimwent the one in th etv and fitted it on the shelf.
The tuner is only mains or 5v so I got a 12 to 5v, 3 amp module and hard wired that in to the system
The new tuner also has PVR ability so we can now watch one program and record another at the same time

Oil change and air filter change this morning..
What should have been a 30 minute job turned in to a mission.
All the screws on the air filter had rotted.. Got in there with a dremel and slotted them.. Got most of them out that way but one was not gonna move.. Choices were take air box right off, grind the head off of the bad 'un, slip the top off get the remains out with mole grips.. or be an animal and just break the screw tab off..
So that was a no brainer then LOL !
Snapped the tab off, gripped the bit of plastic real tight with mole grips and screwed the screw out.
couple of minute job to weld the tab back on..

Then.. thennnnnnnnnnn

Tried to get the sump plug out.
Lord only knows who had fitted it last and WHY the hell they used locktight on it,..

Ended up using a 2 ft breaker bar and a prayer..
Fortunately it came undone without distorting the pan

Total cost about £27( oil filter £7.02, air filter £10.94, oil .. errr dunno cos I buy ( used to any way ) it in BIG drums which worked out at about £9 a gallon

Here is a photo of my new battery bank of 360 amp hours, Sterling battery to battery charger, 1500 watt inverter and extra 12v sockets, NASA BM2 battery monitor in a box behind my drivers seat which will be under the swing out coffee table. The big cabling is 70mm2, from the B2B its 25mm2 and to the B2B from the cab battery its a double run of 20mm2. The shunt is what feeds the NASA BM2 its data on the batteries, voltage and consumption/charging. The mega fuse is 250 amp and there is a small fuse box to feed the extra sockets with spare capacity. Its not as tidy as a Techno installation but it may get ripped out if I sell the van and this lot may not be in the deal!
