We've been grounded for a couple of weeks waiting for a part to be repaired but got it back yesterday so will be making decisions today of where to go

@Allan & Loren, glad you got the van back, hope its going well,its like part of you is missing when its not there, you start going stir crazy, at least I do. We get ours back to-morrow (fingers crossed ) then off up to Scotland. Hope we get further than the A69, that's how far we got last weekend before we broke down. @Simson you are so right about feeling somethings missing! We will be heading north I think as I hate the traffic on Friday evenings going south. I'm going to do some searching later to decide. I'll keep my fingers crossed yours will be ok too and enjoy Scotland. Loren x

We're off to Europe tomorrow...were planning on driving down through France to midi-pyrenees where the forecast is for high 20's/30's next week but with all the unrest and possible traffic disruptions in France may turn left and head into Luxembourg and Germany, difficult to know for sure which to do. Either way...we'll be on the road !

Either way...we'll be on the road !

We live in the Loire and if it wasn't for the news we wouldn't know there is any strikes on. We did have a fuel shortage for a couple of days but everything has been back to normal for the last two weeks. The big demonstrations seem to be targeted at the mayor cities like Paris, Lyon and Marseilles. We are heading down to Marseilles for the weekend.

Having had last weekend off I shall be changing the cambelt, tensioners and water pump on our "new" camper on Saturday. Sunday I have been roped into "waiting on" at Apley Farm shop where our daughters both work, they have an open day and are seriously short staffed (they must be desperate to accept me as a waiter!)

So water pump, cambelt and tensioners, along with cleaning out the heavily carboned inlet manifold and throttle body plus flushing the rad and intercooler plus cleaning the outside of both of them sorted today (that was a long day). Tomorrow has changed slightly, my reputation obviously preceded me and I am now going to be a car park attendant rather than a waiter. Can't imagine why

Just sitting here decided that we will pop down the Southend on sea for an early breakfast. Followed by a stroll to the end of the pier and back then back in time to give my ex her birthday present.
