Off for a long weekend of UK wildcamping in a high, open spot where I can watch a cycle race complete a long, steep stage.

I suspect I will not be alone and with road closures I'm well loaded with my bike, food and drink.

Alcester Food Fair Saturday
NEW FESTIVAL DATES FOR 2016!

SPRING Saturday May 21st 2016

AUTUMN Saturday 15th October 2016

For a great day out, especially if you love good food and drink, the Alcester and Forest of Arden Food Festivals cannot be beaten! Both events offer seasonal produce, artisan cheeses and breads, beers, wines, fresh produce and a wide variety of mainly local food and drink.

Anyone who likes quality food and drink will enjoy visiting both the Food Festivals held in May and October each year. The centre of Alcester is closed to traffic and filled with at least 100 stalls and marquees offering a wide range of fresh, seasonal produce and tempting fare. The majority of producers are local to Warwickshire with some exceptional foods from further afield.

The Organisers aim to provide a thoroughly enjoyable day out for everyone with a wide range of quality, mainly local, food and drink.

Stalls offering seasonal produce including artisan breads, local cheeses, venison, ducks, smoked fish and meats, local ales and ciders, handmade puddings, pies and cakes and many, many more tempting offerings to delight the palate.

The PARK and RIDE is a FREE service and there is NO ENTRANCE CHARGE to the Food Festivals. The free Park and Ride will operate from 9:00am throughout the day from Arden Road Industrial Estate.

Absolute heresy on this forum I know, but this weekend is my wife's 40th birthday treat, so it's a limo ride to a 5* hotel, and then a racing driver is going to scare her witless in a McLaren SLS on the Brooklands test track, then a meal at said hotel.
Our daughter is outraged that we are going away but not using the motor home! :D

Spent the night on top of a very windy and wet Welsh mountain. The rocking of the van sent me to sleep, while the pitter patter of the rain serenaded me.

Birthday wishes for Mrs Ford's 19th 21st birthday

I was going to fit my new reversing camera and pick up the stuff for the alterations to Harriet today but I hit the Big 65 yesterday and Caroline and the girls have set up a weekend long open house, with relly's popping in and a non stop barbie, so I've been told I have to be sociable the whole weekend, never managed that before.

So, it's gonna be a hard weekend for me.:rofl::rofl:

Was supposed to be on the night sailing to St Malo on Saturday but have had to Cancel (hopefully just postpone) planned 3 week trip to France due to Mrs T health problems. :(

Will probably still go somewhere in UK within striking distance of home instead. :)

Hope Mrs T gets better soon so that you can get away to France shortly. Enjoy your weekend away locally.

Taking a slow drive down to the south coast, where i will be catching the Newhaven - Dieppe ferry on Tuesday afternoon. After that it could be a case of see where the fuel shortages, blockades, teargas grenades are, so might head east instead of my planned southwest.

Tarting up Billy Bob's internals

We have had such a fantastic week so far that it is going to be hard to better it. We are just sitting here trying to decide what to do tomorrow.
My lovely lady is reading her book the three wishes and I am sitting listening to a chap playing his Greek guitar. I'm so relaxed that I could keel over.

Spent the weekend buying the bits and pieces like hoses and waterhogs which will make us worry a little less than we did on our first weekend away !!
Although on a campsite we had no way to top up or empty anything other than the toilet - ran out of water an hour before we left and emptied my grey water on our garden when I got back.

We're all set now though - 4 weekends on the bounce away from next week, Shap, Eskdale, Garleiston and Windermere. The last will be entertaining with nothing but an electric hookup - at least work can't get hold - no mobile reception.
