What are you up to this weekend?

Not 100% sure, but I think it only dumps the water in the boiler not the entire system.
Seems to be the whole system on mine. I have filled it back up again. It's forecast to drop to 4c Tomorrow night so I will see.

Spent the weekend just gone kitting out the camper van. Now to plan a weekend away to try our Camper out. Bit of a shock this morning, all the water had vanished from our van. I was informed if the temperature drops below 5 C it automatically dumps all the water out of the system to prevent the pipes from freezing.

Is your van a new one? I also lost a lot of my water trickling out of the drain tap, I think there may have been some dirt or plastic shavings caught in the tap preventing it from shutting off fully. Opening it to let some water out cured the problem.

I took it back to the shop where I bought it from. The guy went straight to the safety valve and reset it. He told me if the temperature inside the van drops below 5c it automatically dumps the water. Looks like when I go to the Alps I will have to make sure the inside of the van is kept above 5C.

Not a lot this weekend. Currently horizontal and enjoying the hospitality of the NHS :(

Hope you are feeling ok.
Thanks for the thoughts, but in a word.......nope! They'll only give me morphine every 2 hours and the effect wears off after an hour :( The spinal specialist is in later this morning so will see, but it looks like summer is out of the window .....

That's a bu^^er Dave, hope they can get you sorted soon ..... you really don't want to miss the British Summer, which I understand is due to occur for a couple of days sometime week after next.
Meanwhile, best wishes from us and keep your pecker up.

Thanks, all. Have had three minor and one major spine operation so this is familiar territory - I think the consultant is the guy that did the big procedure so happy with that. Cheers

Going on a Vets rugby tour. At some point I must have thought it was a good idea. :Eeek:

To make matters worse the secret destination has now been revealed as Swansea :Eeek:

Swansea is a bit of a dump Nick

I'm well aware of that! It wasn't my idea. Last year, when I couldn't make it, they went to France.

Not sure where the actual rugby is going to take place. I know Tenby have a vets tournament at the weekend but that's a bit of a trek from Swansea.

Tenby is about 50-60 miles I should think.

Good roads now though.(y)

Last day in work then flying to Gran Canaria for a week in the sun with about 20 of the wifes family (plus my daughter and grandson), they all know I am a grumpy old bugger so will leave me alone in peace. When we get back next Thursday load up the van and meeting up with a load of old mates in Banbury for the BH weekend, I can see the liver will be well enlarged by the time I get back to work lol.

Flying to Malta for a 'girlie' holiday

Didn't realise you were still having problems Dave. We can arrange a special NHS rate for a Supreme Acklam Piestie (complete with carrots naturally) if conventional medicines prove not to be up to the job (y)

May not be as bad as they thought, but I'm in good hands,

Certainly, the threat of the Acklam roadkill piestie would make most people take their beds and walk.......

Bit of a trek it may be but it would also be a vast improvement on Swansea!
Oh, and to answer the original question - I will be taking the van for its annual habitation service in preparation for the trip to France in a couple of weeks followed by the longer trip to Germany and Poland shortly after that.
