Pair of black framed glasses found where people were seated during the auction. In our van at the moment, but will put on the stainless steel tops between Jaws van and the club in the morning.

A big thank you to Jaws and his helpers. Really enjoyed being away at last and had a really good time at our first Thetford Bash - when can we book for the next one? 😁

To anyone that has cash left over that they didn't end up spending this weekend there's still time to drop some in to the Air Ambulance collection.

Another big thanks here to Jaws John & Mo, meanders Robin & Hilary, Larby, and all those who pitched in to make this year's Thetford Bash a great one, despite restrictions re social distancing etc, etc. A great effort by one and all. (y)

Thanks to whoever for the smashing weather ;) which really helped to make it all go so smoothly.

Cheers for now,

Jock & Rita. :)

Having asked most of those staying on, the clubhouse will open at 7ish for the 17 plus of us who said they would use it. Maximum of 30 people and tables of 6. Plenty of soft drinks and coffee available for those that are driving tomorrow.

It was a lovely weekend, BUT was jaws out of pocket by the non payers for the food?
We just about covered it with some great folks paying extra and others buying most of the "no shows". Poor form that about 20 booked to come and simply never showed, especially when there had been a reserve list. Those that came appear to have had a good time.

The restrictions meant that evening activities were curtailed as the temperature dropped so quickly at sunset, but all daytime activities were very well supported. The weather really helped. 🌞

I'm glad it all worked out in the end, how anyone has the brass neck to order food and not pay for it after the cut off date is beyond me.

Rally's aren't my thing but I've enjoyed following this thread. Well done one and all.

Poor form indeed - how hard is it to phone/text/ or leave a message on the thread.
Shouldn't be allowed to book any other rallies IMO

Thanks to all involved who made this a great weekend. A lot of effort going on behind the scenes.

I echo the sentiments re those who booked, ordered, but haven't coughed up when they cancelled after the cut off.

Off now to apply another layer of after sun ....

We had a super time at the Bash this weekend and would very much like to thank John and his family along with meanders and Larby for all their hard work in making it yet another Bash to remember, and thoroughly enjoyed meeting up and spending time with friends again.

Looking forward to next year's John.

Fab weekend thanks to John, the marshalls and everyone else who pitched in. We hope the no-shows put their hands in their pockets for food they ordered. After all it's for a great cause - The Air Ambulance. Was lovely to see everyone and catch up.
Thanks again.

And that’s the reason why I’ve started asking for full payment if there’s a reserve list. It’s downright rude and bad mannered not to say they aren’t coming, though there might be a few exceptions where something unexpectedly , emergency has turned but 20 I doubt all had emergencies.

Trouble is that full payment only ensures the organiser isn't out of pocket (and only if ancillary things aren't prebooked such as fish & chips) but it doesn't solve taking up a space that someone else might have enjoyed.

I realise that name & shame isn't really the MHF way... but I wonder if the regular & frequent rally organisers might not circulate the list of names of the no shows.
If they become unwelcome, they might get the message.

Unfortunately, the Thetford Bash is such good value some people wouldn't think twice about "losing" the £25 for 4 nights if a 'better' alternative comes up.

Why arnt all the vans lined up.

They look a bit higg a piggley 😊
Cheeky! 😀😀😀😀

You should also see that vans come in differing lengths. Plus a significant number had trailers or toads. And some of the top field was unusable as very boggy with an underground water problem.

Perhaps I should ask CAMC for a pile of pegs for next year.

I was really disappointed to miss out but after a very traumatic breakdown on a very busy motorway junction and then 2 days to get it repaired, I was just not in the frame of mind to let Kannon Fodda and cruiser drink my grog. Next time, I hope

Great rally thanks to all the organizers and helpers. Sad to say some didnt pay for their meals before the cancellation deadline. This deadline ids only set because Jaws john has to pay up frpnt. Over 30 fish and chips hadcto be thrown away. Come on you funsters if you didnt cancel you meal in time send John the money, You know who you are. He should not be out of pocket.
