I was really disappointed to miss out but after a very traumatic breakdown on a very busy motorway junction and then 2 days to get it repaired, I was just not in the frame of mind to let Kannon Fodda and cruiser drink my grog. Next time, I hope
But the difference is that you're one of the good guys... sh1t happens, but you had the courtesy to keep everyone informed...
Hope your bus is now fully fixed.

Great rally thanks to all the organizers and helpers. Sad to say some didnt pay for their meals before the cancellation deadline. This deadline ids only set because Jaws john has to pay up frpnt. Over 30 fish and chips hadcto be thrown away. Come on you funsters if you didnt cancel you meal in time send John the money, You know who you are. He should not be out of pocket.
Totally agree shame on you really

Cracking rally we had a great time. Thanks to Jaws for fitting us in at last minute and a big thankyou to Meanders and the rest of the guys and girls you made it a great weekend the fish and chips and sunday lunches were spot on.

It was a wonderful escape from reality. We enjoyed every minute and appreciated the background work put in by so many of you.
There were slips from strict timings which only added to the feeling of freedom. Long may they remain!
Thanks to every smiling face.
The only downer as already mentioned was Jaws being dropped in the financial poo by trusting people who promised to pay for food leaving Jaws to pay out of his own pocket. This should not happen again!

A BIG THANKYOU to Jaws and ALL his crew for a fantastic weekend.

Good weather, good food, good price and best of all, GOOD FUN FRIENDS. What more could any man/woman want?

See you next year!

Another £23 donated to us last evening. Jaws John. Will transfer to you later in the day. Bar was well supported last night. Nice social evening. 👍

Thanks everyone.

The aftermath and breakdown

OK.. I have some pretty close figures and end result for you all

There is STILL the rugby club fee to take off the total as they have still not told me how much they want, and it varies every year !!
Could be anywhere from £150 to £800 !

Total raised for air ambulance so far is £4692.09p, plus £23 Robin is gonna send later making a fairly fantastic £4715.09 ( less rugby club fee what ever that is ) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not gonna name names but very special mentions go to:
The persons who donated

A gaslow bottle

£250 cash raised by his mum requesting no flowers at her funeral but cash to go to a charity

And the person who sold a sat system and donated the proceeds

Special mentions and heartfelt thanks go to

Robin and Hilary with Larby ( Peter ) and Hilda who were your long suffering marshals

Zoe and Kate who worked their bums off trying desperately to move on some of the meals left over ( folk who did not turn up and did not bother to cancel even though they had ordered grub ) and saved the day

Shane ( grandson ) and Jay who were the chief mechanics and run around like their a@ses was on fire to keep the peds going and Tommy ( grandson ) who ably assisted Deano and all the lads who helped set up the track
Also extra credits to Jay who transported all the peds to the site and back home which involved multiple runs but refused to take a penny for petrol

To our official photographer who braved all to get some fantastic pictures of the ped racing and I am ashamed to say I have forgotten your name (please PLEASE step forward and let me know !!!!I am really pretty embarrassed about it )

To Darrell ( son ) who did such a fine job of leading the rideout home and timed the 'break out' ( the bikers know what it means ;) ) perfectly

To all the auction runners, Molly, Kate, Sam, Jay, Gale, and many others ( and Jo, get some practice on the mic.... maybe have another go next year mate :-) )

To all the musicians who put on a grand show ( which I completely missed as I fell asleep in the van...I was a tad exhausted !) but I know some were Richard, Martin, Gay, Graham, Ger and Tom ( apologies to those missed.. please give a shout out below to let us know )

An extra mention to Robin and Hilary who kept the music playing for us in the evenings even though it was chilly !!!!

And last but def not least Andrew, your barman who did sterling service

I have NO doubt I have forgotten folk and to all those I offer my apologies and thanks..

I think folk had a pretty good time over all.. without each and every one of you good people the Bash would not be what it is !!!!!!!!

Lastly ( promise ! ) a couple of changes if we are gonna do it all again next year

Food ordered will have to be paid for when you order your tickets.. In 20 years of running the Bash I have never had to do it, but with nearly £780 worth of meals ( which were paid for up front ) not being paid for by those which ordered and were no shows I am afraid there is little choice.. I feel bad about it and I do hope those who so badly let fun down feel bad too ( and NO.. I will not name them even though many many people said they should be outed )

The other change will be the ped racing.. only a minor change though
Entries will be limited to 48.. that way we can keep a ped in reserve for the inevitable breakdowns :)

Thats about it I think..
Many thanks to all who came and enjoyed them selves :-)

Due to a broken wrist we didn’t get to the bash this year, really disappointed, but wholeheartedly agree with pay up front for everything.
Contraiversatinol I admit but how about no refunding? If John can’t resell the meals he is covered and if he can Air Ambulance gains. WinWin

Yes mate.. meals non refundable but entry tickets transferable to following year.
Is that fair ?

Many thanks for a great 'Bash' again John.....have you considered getting a mobile chip van to come to site, I'm sure it would do a roaring trade & save you the hassle you've encountered this year.
Cheers, Gary & Ang
We tried it a few years back.
No one really wants to take it on and no one wants to queue for a couple of hours LOL !!
There are just TOO many folk wanting meals
There is also the issue of quality .. Not casting dispersions on other F & C suppliers but I know just how good the grub is when I get it from Atlantic in Thetford

There !! I knew I would forget something............
Shout out to John and Shell Booty, who are resurrecting West Raynham control tower and crash bay, for putting on such a great day for the bikers on the ride out, not only giving a very informative guided tour but laying on refreshments and cake too !
AND donating three nights camping to the auction !!
Also Steve, who made all those fantastic bird boxes and the bird table :)
And of course Gaston Aires for his terrific quiz
You can get more information on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/West-Raynham-Control-Tower-338106449882866

That shows more respect than they showed you.
Even though you're not naming & shaming - I do hope that you keep a little black book of their names & forum identities so as not to allow them next year...

Great weekend, couldn’t stay Monday evening as I had a hospital appointment Tuesday morning. Tuesday morning 8.39 phone call, appointment cancelled 😞

What a bugger !!!!

Yet another update.. A further £250 has just turned up and is being sent to me , and a couple of decent folk have sent lolly for meals and a £50 donation from a lady who was not even booked in.. All of which reminds me that the vast majority of people are kind, generous, and honourable
The current running total going to air ambulance ( less rugby club fee ) is not standing at a whopping £5,532.51!

Thanks all for another great bash.
