The Jumar's at no. 32 go on holiday (From Spain to ????)

You appear to be taking our homeward journey of 3 weeks ago in reverse. We loved the region around Mandal and Lindesnes. One of our favourite stopovers was between Hauge and Egersund on the RV44. Camper contact no.44682.

I did know there were such nice bits of Norway so far south. :) We really will have to get there some day. June/July sound good times to be there.

We stayed there last year. It looked slightly different to your photos.

We found another place about 500 metres away on an old harbour a little further away from the road. This may, or may not, be our tomorrow night's stopover.

Hoping to see a bit more blue tomorrow.

Do you want Fresh Cod? or Dried Cod?

This was my first ever cod that I caught on a spinner (at the ferry terminal at Horn)

We want fish, any fish, even a Mackerel would be a start .

(He has caught some tiddlers and put them back and we've seen some big fish. Just need some patience and a full fridge!)

Today I almost lost my job as events manager but as it turned out it's safe!!!

We cycled the few kilometres to the start of the walk up Brufjell and the side trip to the caves.

The start of the walk is down the fjord but no access for us other than by the minor road. The tiny houses are the village.

IMG_20180720_084308.jpg

Another perfect day for hiking. We set off uphill following the blue paint marks and first passed the little pebble beach.

IMG_20180720_093017.jpg

Onwards and upwards until the downwards started!!!

IMG_20180720_101759.jpg

What goes down has to come back up, but that's for later.

We eventually coaxed Ros and Norman down to the platform where the caves are. And we have the obligatory photo to prove "we woz there"

IMG_20180720_102159.jpg

The reverse route was slightly easier climbing back up.

Ros, showing a great climbing technique.
IMG_20180720_121544.jpg

And Norman following closely behind.
IMG_20180720_121513.jpg

Once back on terra firma we had to top out and make an entry in the book. A kind local took a photo of us all together.

IMG_20180720_152219.jpg

I think you could probably hear the buzzing in the air. Ros and Norman cos they'd done something out of their comfort zone and us cos it was good to share.

I'm now allowed to plan our next sortie! I'm thinking the Troll's Prick!!!

I’m only coming if there’s fish for supper.

We've got one to share .

He's out at the moment trying to get a few more, otherwise it'll be a poor supper. Although bread and fish have been known to stretch a long way ......

We had our walk to Trollpikken after being charged NOK100 each to park :(.

Pricks demolish the Prick

During the night of Saturday June 24th 2017 the rock was vandalised. It was broken off with mechanical force and use of tools. The boulder was found intact right below it's original place. The boulder weighed 12 tons. A fundraiser was initiated and €20,000 (200 000 NOK) was quickly reached. On July 6th a local, construction firm started the restoration and around 1700hrs the following day Trollpikken was erect once more.

To get the formation back in place three holes were drilled in the block and the foundation. A 10 m high, 2.2 tons framework was put up around the block to support the hoists, straps were put around the block and it was lifted into place. Three iron bars, each 4 metres in length, were fed into the holes in the block and into the foundation and the fracture zone was reinforced with epoxy.

Words fail me about the mentality of some people

Our first view.

It would be hard to rebuild that jigsaw :(.
I know! The vandals scratched their names on the rocks . Total imbeciles.
Millions of years formed wiped out in 30 minutes lost forever.

Just been out with Ros and Lester for his evening constitutional. In my role as events/social/activity planner I found a short walk up to some German built gun emplacements on Vedafjell. They built tunnels also but Ros and Lester wouldn't go in with me, so I explored one alone. Unfortunately when I emerged at the other end I didn't know (a) where I was and (b) where they were so I had to retrace my steps :D.

By the way, it's grey and drizzly now :(

Judith haven’t you heard the news of people lost in a cave ? How scarey!
Shouldn’t an events planner decide on a walk to the nearest bar for a beveridge or 2?!
