The Jumar's at no. 32 go on holiday (From Spain to ????)

Now on our favourite Stellplatz from last time we were here. At Kesten.

On the way we did the lovely walk we did last time. The circuit around a Schloss with a surprise en route!

This time we were ready !!! We saved our sandwich until the top and partook in a glass of dry white :D.

We were hopeful it would still be there, and we weren't disappointed.

Where a wedding was taking place.

Tomorrow we either start to drive north or squeeze another day in here then push it. We have a ferry to Norway next Thursday :Grin:and meeting @Hagstrom on Sunday .

Looking forward to reacquainting ourselves with the lovely Lester :ROFLMAO:.

Now have the problem of what to do with the wine we've brought for the whole trip. Do we just go innocently and hope they don't check (like last year) or should I use the filled pillow ruse. Decisions, decisions :(.

I wouldn’t worry about it, we just put it in the cupboards in full view , didn’t make an effort to hide it, decided to act surprised if they found it as we hadn’t paid a lot for it , I suspect if you are carrying wine from the local bodega it won’t be a big loss money wise. :)

We never got stopped and in fact when we crossed into Norway we were so unsure that we had done so (it was a big border point) we walked back to double check.

It's not the monetary loss of the wine that might be confiscated, it's the replacement cost that might bring tears to our eyes.

We weren't stopped in the north, crossing from Sweden on a rainy day AND we weren't (too much) over the allowance! We were rather miffed actually.

We haven't got gallons anyway so will just wing it.

Enjoy your trip, we're on a stellplatz at Trittenheim heading slowly towards Trier & home :(, we've had a couple of lovely days here, bumped into fellow funsters @Tykatem - Pete & Wendy with lovely Lulu & Otto.
Weather is glorious, long may it continue:)

We've driven up through Germany after suddenly finding ourselves heading for Norway :).

Five hours of driving and 450km has brought us to a Stellplatz at Wildeshausen, South West of Bremen (which we'll have to navigate tomorrow ... Monday morning!!!)

€5 to park, with leccy. Can't go wrong, but would have been even better if we'd needed to charge bike batteries )

Martin's looking for fishing places in Denmark as I type, but don't know if he's found anywhere yet.

Lidl or Aldi shopping in Germany tomorrow before we exit for Scandiland(y)

In our normal place, in the shade!

Arrived to (just into) Denmark and a waterside parking for tonight. So easy to slip back into the lifestyle of last year and it's only our first night !

Martin's already had a chat to a local fisherman and got all the info and he's now out for an exploratory :reel:

He intends to have a "proper" go at dusk :D.

We have two full days in Denmark before our ferry to Norway on Thursday so need some info of where to go. Google will be our friend, I suspect .

Our gaff for tonight @Hagstrom

We've only just begun .........

No fish on first attempt.....the water is full of weed....good place for fish to lurk....but cannot tempt them.... quite cool compared with what we have left behind.
Moving just a little further tomorrow...the past two days have been constant driving...it's time now for fun again. Van is well stocked with everything we need to cross into Norway.....just need to prepare ourselves for the meeting with our travelling companions....looking forward to some good company....

If you are fishing in the Baltic it is worth taking note of the tides. Even if it only goes up and down a few inches, in my experience they don't bite when the tide is falling. :)

Thanks @DBK Martin has taken that on board!

This morning we took the 6km Heart Walk from our overnight parking. We only saw one other person exercising, a lady running along the coast, and one lady leaving her house looking like she was off to work (y). There are some pretty nice properties around here.

This one was stunning, with a view across the water,

But

I preferred this one
IMG_20180710_082520.jpg

We did see buzzards and three huge hares and a swan and cygnets. Photos aren't available!

We drove ever northwards to a "fishing!!!!!!" area Martin had found near the lighthouse at Strib . He spoke to some locals wearing wellies (turned out to be Serbians ) they told him the fishing wasn't that good. We then saw them picking rosehips :LOL::LOL: so how good their info was .......

Anyway he didn't catch anything.

After Martin's unsuccessful fishing foray we continued up to the National Park of Mols Bjerge. Our chosen parking looked a little too dangerous (huge channels in gravel) for us to attempt so we went a few hundred metres to a €7 private parking area, where we are the only motorhome. Put the money in a honesty box which we'll do in the morning before we leave.

The access to the beach is uphill???? from here and we'll be having a look between now and the football kick off!!!

IMG_20180710_162912.jpg

When we've "climbed the hill to the beach!!!" more piccies may be forthcoming.

Martin wants to recce for tomorrow mornings fishing.

@big map you were right last year about how nice Denmark is. (Even though Danish friends think differently). We're enjoying every minute of our time here. Thanks.

Might have caught more if he'd used those cannons.....

We (He) had an abortive attempt at fishing at Grenaa, so we (I) decided to carry on further north. I did a bit of mobile research and found some recommended fishing places. The first one is at Hals and this is where we are now. Martin's out with other fishing peeps and I'm resisting going round the town, the whole place is one big flea market on Wednesdays. It's easy to resist as we don't have many Danish Kroner and we don't need any more clutter . We did read a review on P4N that this happens on Wednesdays but we carried on regardless :D

Martin's just run back for his keep net cos he's just caught a trout. Didn't bother taking all his kit. Don't know whether it's the one that got away .

The harbour at Hals.

Off out with phone to get a piccie of THE BIG ONE!!!

THE BIG ONE

He lost it . I was assured by his new friend that it was a good 'un as well :(

Just catching up with your thread you two, enjoying the updates and all the photos too. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Thanks Irene. I hope you're having a good time cycling. It's hot over there still, I think, so I expect you're glad you have your assistant(ce).

We're now in Luxembourg (for cheap! fuel). Sitting on the banks of the Moselle/Mosel!

Drove 5 hours or so in rain. Didn't find the need to stop in this weather so carried on.

Our next part of the trip is now likely to be less adventurous but may be more relevant to any readers :D cos it will be more nice places to stop and gentle bike rides/walks.

We may be meeting up with @Hagstrom somewhere and heading to Scandiland but that's in the future and not planned for yet.

A couple of damp, grey photos from Luxymosel .

Well, we're here. Not locked up as smugglers  BUT we were stopped and asked if we were carrying . A little short of the truth and we were waved on . They obviously weren't going to search cos we were still in the disembarking lane with nowhere to pull us over (y). I've now remade the bed so we can sleep comfortably with our heads on pillows instead of wine beds!

We're "parked" in a picnic area with all the FLT "campers"!!!:LOL:
