Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

The south coast of France is apparently a very different place to the rest of France. I have had several French people tell me that themselves.

Signs everywhere, no camping cars, and this is just on roads, no aires just very dear, extauncinate, camp sites.:(:(:( nice to visit once but don't think we will ever go to that area again.

I saw a lot of parking spots on park4night that look ok. It's just service areas there seems to be a shortage of. But I don't plan to spend more than another couple of weeks in France to be honest. I think I should have stayed another month in Spain then just drove straight through France to Italy.

The problem for FL’T’s like Tam is that the south of France is very much in tourist mode so almost all the Aires are much more expensive than inland and less popular places.
We stopped at the large aire in Palavas-les-Flots which is €17 per night and it was rammed. Mostly French too. :Eeek:

Gruissan, which we have just left is €9, including water, dump etc. and also has toilets and showers. The aire at Carro (towards Marseille) was only €6. Quite reasonable for a fab sea view.

Richard.

Well I've filled up with gas , stocked up in mercadona. Not got diesel yet as I'm holding out for sub €1.20 Lol but will fill before I leave Spain. Found China bizarre buy yet another one with no cases for a Samsung s9 which is weird as it's a recent model

In a wee town on the coast now Llanca

It's warm but looks like it's gonna chuck it down with rain.

We liked Narbonne when we were there several years ago but the coast further on is not Camping Car friendly-expensive & crowded!
If you don’t like the little bit of France you’ve seen you won’t like it along there!

Everywhere looks great compared to my weather this morning
Tam your laying the trails I need to follow
WELL
as soon as I get the house finished & sold

My waiting game for fuel didn't pay off lol ...cheapest I got was €1.31 but still €0.27 cheaper than the €1.58 it was on the French side:eek:

Anyone know what the fuel prices etc are like in Italy?

I find ‘Total access’ in France usually have good priced fuel but ‘Total contact’ are usually dear.

Supermarkets in France last week it was €1.42-€1.45, filled up just before the boarder at €1.22, cheapest fill up was €1.11. :)

€1.11 in France that's impressive...cheapest I've seen here so far is €1.46 and dearest at €1.62

Most places in north Spain yesterday were €1.28

Yes I saw the weather forecast for spain last night showing it wasn't good up that way.
It just looks outrageous when you see it on the pump lol
Looks better than the 2€/litre that was about during last summer.
