Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

Tam, no doubt a bit soon ,but when I was heading South last time I crossed the "Haute Pyrenees " on the D929 lovely route, through the Bielsa tunnel (that was in September though). On the French side the town of Aragnouet had a very large (Moho friendly car park) right next to the shops /cafés /laundry. Thought it might be of interest to you :)
That's the way we came on our current trip, and went back through it on Friday.

So last night I found this place

Spotted these steps down to the river bed so decided to go down there for a walk in the morning.

Headed down in to the gorge this morning it's a lovely walk along the river it goes for miles.
We came to one of the bridges and for some reason milo decided to swim across which was hilarious. Jade decided to watch from the bridge.

Then it was back to Toby where they both crashed out.

You certainly find the good spots! Absolutely beautiful, what a brave little boy Milo is, I wonder if he realised he was going swimming, I note his big friend Jade didn't join him.
They really are a super little pair of dogs (y)

To be honest I think the wee dafty just took the most direct route to get to me ....he ended up swimming under the bridge. Jade still just likes to paddle she's not keen on going in.

You are so lucky that Jade accepted Milo and that that are obviously very good mates!
Aye it was a gamble ...but I knew how excited and desperate she got to see other dogs all the time and figured she would like company

And of course because Milo is just a wee teddy bear for the cuddles they get on really well.

Too well at times as she's leading him astray

All the planes look in remarkably good nick considering they are parked where they go to die.

The reason(s) why most are retired are various:-

The engines become uneconomical to operate and replacements are too expensive to engineer

Component inspections are too expensive on manpower

Some, like the Viscounts I flew, need structural replacement - new main wing spars i.e. rebuild after 20,000 flights.

I will not go on hijacking Tam's thread.

Probably going cheap then. We should get a MHF one. Who's in? I bagsy the co-pilot seat.

Milo probably didn't realise as you say ,but having now discovered he can swim, if not overfaced, left to his own devices her will probably try it again in a warm, calm bit. Given time, if not forced Jade may decide to join him. But it must be their choice.

Yes just broken for spares. 747's in there as well.

That dam certainly looks a nice spot.
I noticed what looks like boats or something ? At our one they don't allow any water sport.

Aye this one allows swimming too they've even built diving bits in to the rocks.

The boats were hidden further down ...We found them while out walking

Our "lake" here allows swimming, kayaks, paddle boats but nothing motorised (due to the dangers of contamination).
I think the humans can do enough contaminating on their own with broken glass, beer cans and plastics. (n)
