Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

Well we've arrived in zarragoza it's as much a nightmare place as I remember last year when I got lost in it lol.
I've managed to abandon Toby in a space near the bus station and not a far walk from the cathedral so were gonna go for a walk now to see that.
As yet I'm undecided where I'll park tonight but certainly won't be where I'm parked now.

I have to say though I'm glad it's Toby and not franky I'd never have got that parked here it's very busy

Well that didn't take long lol .....What can I say? If you entered a competition to win a fantastic holiday ...zarragoza woukd be the booby prize...man it's fugly.

It's dirty...It's bland and completely charmless.

It's no secret that I'm not really a fan of big cities , I think there's too much crammed in to them and too many people, it's rare i find a city I like but the ones in Spain I thought were nice were further south. The north I have to say I'm not impressed with , I didn't think much of the north west last year either.
I kinda wish I'd just came back up the coast but hey ho lesson learned lol.

So I'll probably head to huesca from here as I plan to go in to Andorra as I couldn't on the way here and I'll then be heading in the montpellier direction so makes sense.

I'm convinced Toby is trying to tell me something as the habitation lock has now broke .....it seems he wants something repaired every week and I'm fed up with it.

I've also got a bloody cold ....someone has infected me grrrrrrr
 
Nor me, is it a cold or might it be hay fever Tam?
I only discovered I had hayfever recently , (if you've never had it, how do you recognise it)? It was my neighbour here that told me what I had. Then the solution was simple, around here it's the pollen from the pine trees that gets me .:)

Nah it's definately a cold, I'm a sufferer of hayfever in the UK but surprisingly don't get it here. But I had a really sore throat yesterday and now a runny nose today.

Aye but overall it's no a nice city.

I'm in huesca now just parked up at the aire going to have some lunch then a look around.
 
Well I'd like to tell you huesca is better.

But I'd be lying lol

Can't understand it I mean there's a proper aire here with services and a campsite across the street.

What do people come here for?

I took a few pics but that's it lol

So I apologise for the lack of nice pics today ...I did try but failed lol

Anyway I'll stop here tonight grab a bit shopping in the morning then see where I'm at.

We often travel back up via Caceres, Salamanca and Burgos - all beautiful cities! I’m not keen on the “up the middle” route either!

I've never been there Tam and I don't like cities either but you've maybe been a bit quick to judge. I've just been looking on Google maps, lots of photos, there is apparently a monastery, cathedral, hermitage and various parks .

Yep I visited the cathedral photos above, the parks are ok I guess but lacking grass, the monestary is very plain I saw that and the other buildings showing on the map etc.
It's just a bit boring and lacks character.
 
Ok so I nipped out on the bike to get some contact lens fluid and a new case for my phone as the other one broke :(

Came back and I've a new neighbour lol

I wouldn't mind but there's loads of empty spaces. They have a Rottweiler and a large mongrel that are roaming about without restraint so if course my two are driving me nuts trying to get to them , jades whining Milo barking.

That and the fact there's a tree behind me so a 5 point turn required to move my bloody van.

I swear someone somewhere is paying folk to do this time lol.



Another wee observation and I've seen this on other free aires too.

There's just been a guy drove in a big flash Mercedes car and earlier a guy in a citroen cactus....both have filled several ( 10 or more ) 8 litre bottles from the water tap put them in boot and drove off.

What's that all about ?

Surely it's the same water as their taps at home.

Yes we’ve seen that in France quite a lot, think it’s because they pay for it if they use home taps but that water is free!
Well not totally free, as Aires in France are paid for by the commune.

You wouldn't believe it but he left and another bugger moved from the other side of the aire and parked there ...this time it's a Spaniard in a sprinter ...you couldn't make it up. I can only assume it's because I'm sensible and parked as far from the road as I could and now every other numpty is figuring that out.

I'm having one of those days lol.

My ice cube tray obviously wasn't frozen when I drove off this morning and spilt the water in the freezer ...now all the food bags have frozen together and to the base of the freezer lol so I can't get anything out the freezer unless I defrost it ..... .Oh Please!
 
hi, is it that you are parked across more than one parking space?
even in an empty car park if you park across more than a space it causes problems .
one behind the other is ok , but across in spain can cause trouble .
only mention it as the last pic looks like you might be.
 
dip a fish slice in boiling water and ease it between the freezer floor and the bags (y)
