And now I'm at simat de la valdigna , I was here last year too , the aire is right on the orange groves and is a nice quiet spot and a sun trap. Nice old monestary here too for a look around.

Just having a spot of lunch then off for a look around

Sounds a silly question but how do you decide where you're off to next?

I struggle, especially using the park4night app as there are just so many places. I've been trying to decide where to go next for about 3 days.

I'm paid up in this aire for one more night but had such a relaxing day today I fancy a few more here.

Also fancy taking the tram up to benidorm although I'd just be doing it for the journey

I dunno really lol
So is there a reason you're re-visiting places you've already been to?
Apart from they're on the way to Milo?
Or just you enjoyed them last time so why not?
Should you get out of your comfort zone & head off into the unexplored?

A bit of both really , to be honest I originally planned just to do eastern Europe this year, but then I adopted milo and because most of eastern Europe is still cold I thought I'd spend a couple of months in Spain.
Once I pick up milo I'll probably spend a week in roquetas and a week down Malaga and then end of March I'll start heading back up to south of France but inland via toledo etc that I missed last year.

I generally like the coast as it's warmer just now so that's the main reason.
I've missed a good few places out this year though I'm not doing gandia Denia etc. And whilst I'm going to calpe it's actually the outskirts where Sharon lives as I didn't meet her last year and she wants to see jade.

Well mum got home today and she seems quite happy so far. She gets 2 nurses in 4 times a day at the minute

Fingers crossed no angry phone call from mum .

Wrong treats, insufficiently trained dog, (tho' I confess my younger dog would be the same ), combined with ignorant and/or thoughtless other dog owner.Seems like life can conspire against you sometimes lol. ;)
Are you related to barbra wood house  because you certainly don’t give in

That's really good news Tam, I'm really happy for all of you.

Tam you do have the knack of finding lovely places.

Some of your photos of you and Jade together can’t be selfies, your arms are not that long. Are you going to tell us who is taking them?

Is it the lady in the archway with the very patient GSD, can’t remember his name, Nero maybe.

Jade I assume (y), trained to run fast and pose.

I'd describe myself as a tad pig-headed on occasion ( but I think Tam could relate to that):),politely folk than me have said I'm tenacious lol.

I’m really quite envious of you being able to wear shorts !

I want to wear shorts :cautious:

The places look great.

Look forward to the 2 cute dog pictures in the very near future.

Aye that Geordie las Angela has been asking places to go so she's been a few of the same spots.

Forgot to say , pleased for your Mum that she’s made it home.

Yes men do kinda of get away with it …….but trust me "us women" are thinking look at that twit in his shorts in winter :)

I was wondering about the temperatures you are getting Tam.
The pics you post show lovely sunny & maybe warm weather but what about the evenings? Does it get very cold, do you have your heating on much/all the time/anytime?
Night-time doesn’t bother me, I’m in bed & warm but evenings, sitting reading/watching tv/whatever can be a bit brrrrr!

Aye those guys are nuts ...my mum's postie wears shorts nearly all year round he was wearing them when I left.

Daytime has been great ..average 15-17 but a few days like yesterday it was over 20°
Nice in the sun but can be a little fresh in the shade. Evenings outside are cold but in the van with no heating on it's quite comfortable.
This morning it's bloody cold but suns not on my van yet ...

I've not used the heating since I left France so not too bad really.

Last year was a lot windier and I got a good bit of rain this time last year so much better

So I left simat this morning and drove up through the mountains to xativa...Angela the Geordie following me lol.

Well I had found a car park on park4night that is up the hill near the castle that I couldn't get to with the Frankia last year but thought it won't be a hassle with Toby...

Ha ha well I made it but jeeso at some points I had an inch to spare between the roof and folks balconies and the same between the mirrors and the buildings...got a fair few strange looks but once on the roads had no choice but to keep going and angela still behind me lol

When I stopped at the carpark she was nearly in tears lol but she did well and had made it up unscathed also ...

She now wants to tell all her friends how a mad Scotsman made her heart race ha ha ha

And that's before she finds out there's still a great hike up to the castle :p

So this is where we are parked.
