Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

So I left simat this morning and drove up through the mountains to xativa...Angela the Geordie following me lol.

/QUOTE]

I reckon she is trying to get 'a hitch on his towbar'

What do you other guys think?

Is it time to send a 'Chaperone'? As I think Jade is not up to the job and waiting for Milo might be too late.

We may need to act now to keep our Tam.

So I know I posted pics of this last year bit there's a few following this thread that didn't follow last year's so this is the lovely castillo at xativa ...and a couple of Toby and me

Loving the photos Tam .... they keep me going until I can get away :D. And teasing aside it’s nice that you and Angela can get some company en route.

Who was it who asked about how you know where to go? .... as a casual follower, it strikes me that you pick places with a point of interest .... either a castle, church, monument or pretty town. A good way to travel, methinks.

It's nice that you are being chivalrous and showing Angela around a bit and no doubt you are all (dogs included ) benefiting from each others company.I can relate to the way Angela felt going up to Xativa,I had a few moments like that on my first trip but as the saying goes "what doesn'the kill you makes you stronger".
I bet it was a ****dy man invented that saying!
Anyway thanks for more super pictures, on a more personal note Tam, I see your six pack has gone into hiding, it will be a shame if that is still the case when the students are around at easter time:p.

I love architecture and history , old buildings whether they be churches castles etc I find fascinating I like to imagine what life was like back when they were built especially as they didn't have the technology and equipment we have these days , I also love the mountains and the wee roads through them. So I look for places like that to visit and then I also love the sea and coastline for a contrast.

And yeah Angela is a laugh we have had a good few giggles. But we go and do our own thing aswell so not too over bearing lol

Ha ha well I've lost a bit of weight since I left home as walking an average of 3 hours a day these days.

It's the fokd man I like my grub too much

Has Jade been wee'd on again yet :D2...
Not yet she's learning to get out the way but she's a right flirt with bigger dogs , there was a big new founlander at the castle and she was all over it too.

I can see her being dissapointed with milo lol , she'll be like " naw dad you can take him back I wanna German sheperd"

Feel sorry for Angela...She got lost on way down to the ferry at newhaven and ended up in a bit of London emission zone ...she's been fined £500 ...which she has just paid over the phone.

Can't challenge it apparently ...I think that's ridiculous but that's also why I'll never go near bloody London the swines

I don't do ANY built up areas, they terrify me and always have. From the Highlands I head for Perth/Carlisle,M6/M5 overnight , then Cirencester, Swindon (I have an overnight spot between the two, then it is south to Selsey Bill, either another overnight or just a teabreak and a run on the beach for the dogs, then along the South coast to Newhaven. There is another off lead dog walk there from Sainsbury's carpark, then just a couple of hundred yards to the Newhaven ferry terminal.
No built up areas,no gritted teeth and white knuckles. (y)

Aye those guys are nuts ...my mum's postie wears shorts nearly all year round he was wearing them when I left.
You don't tend to feel the cold on your legs,,now your arms thats different. Wore short trousers at school all year until i was 14,,Usually have my shorts on from end of march until end of nov.Not a pretty sight.BUSBY:D:D

So I left simat this morning and drove up through the mountains to xativa...Angela the Geordie following me lol.

Well I had found a car park on park4night that is up the hill near the castle that I couldn't get to with the Frankia last year but thought it won't be a hassle with Toby...

Ha ha well I made it but jeeso at some points I had an inch to spare between the roof and folks balconies and the same between the mirrors and the buildings...got a fair few strange looks but once on the roads had no choice but to keep going and angela still behind me lol

When I stopped at the carpark she was nearly in tears lol but she did well and had made it up unscathed also ...

She now wants to tell all her friends how a mad Scotsman made her heart race ha ha ha

And that's before she finds out there's still a great hike up to the castle :p

So this is where we are parked.

That's odd, I strayed in there once about 5 years ago in a non compliant VW T4 and just got a letter telling me I was naughty and it's a 100 quid a day but we'll let you off as it's your first time.

Without wishing to be smug, my dogs can be called off playing with other dogs, and even with sheep (a mistake on my part letting them in the same field) but then border collies are very intelligent and very trainable once they know what you expect of them. I treat mine the same as the grandchildren, except the dogs don't go off on a tantrum when I tell them off.
You think you've trained them but Border Collies ask what you want them to do then just do it. No training involved :D.

I would have thought you'd get a warning but she says no and she paid it today I heard her on phone to girl who told her if not paid it would be £1500 more later.

Seems extreme to me But I guess it was a month ago she did it Cause she's been over here a while

Them streets is narrow,
Nice hump to go over as well.
You did well
Aye the balconies caused a bit of bum clenching lol

And i was glad not to ground out on the hump.

But still to get down again tomorrow lol then off to guadalest....I have an extra day too as can't visit Sharon in calpe till Saturday as she's collecting a dog.

Saturday's also my birthday

Happy bleeding birthday in advance then :D

Angela was probably still traumatised from the drive in, or at the thought of having to drive back out! If so she has my sympathy.
Ps. When you next see her will you please tell her what a super dog Nero appears to be and how good it is to see a GSD that doesn't have the awful sloping back and dreadful hips that most of the British KC registered German Shepherds appear to have. IMO

I doubt whether it wes the LEZ you transgressed as that is only restricted to compliant diesel vehicles over 3.5t.

Therefore it might have been the Congestion Zone which is only in Inner London.
