I cant as I live in the van so I need it fitted or I've no power . I could send it to apuljack or a&n for a repair at £130 but would have the same problem ...thats why i had to pay £300 for a control panel also as i need the replacement before i can remove the old one.I would looked into sending it back to Schaudt in Germany for repair.
Yeah I'm not holding my breath though as this morning I now have a battery light on the dash and my engine battery is showing low voltsFingers crossed that sorts out your electrical issues. Pain in the arse when things aren't working quite right.
You have been sitting up for a while, can't remember do you have a battery master fitted?Yeah I'm not holding my breath though as this morning I now have a battery light on the dash and my engine battery is showing low volts
Aye but the solar and the mains charge all my batteries. You have been sitting up for a while, can't remember do you have a battery master fitted?

The joys of fulltiming i guess
That's what I thought..BUSBY.Tam can you not run a EHU lead from your mums and just pay her for some electric.
Its not the electric thats the problem its working the water pump etc for shower and things with the electrics disconnected.Tam can you not run a EHU lead from your mums and just pay her for some electric.
I dunno about that ....its driving me nutsWell Tam, by the time you have finished your going to be well versed in van electrics, people will be coming to you for advice. Wish you luck.
I now have a battery light on the dash , with engine running the alternator is putting in anything from 14.4v to 17.2
Its very high hence my concern17.2v seems high to me BUT I could be wrong ( I’ve never seen above 14.8v )
Thats the puzzle at the minute .. but the alternator was changed march 2019 and the battery was replaced march 2020.17.2 is very highhave you checked the alternator isnt playing up causing all your problems
It could beAs I said when we spoke eairler I think the alternator regulator has blown this would also affect the D+ output from the alternator which controls the 12v on the fridge d the split charge relay. Should be cheap just to change the regulator pack on the back of the alternator.
It's so high that you run the risk of overheating the starter battery if you use the van. Anything over 15v is dangerous and will cause damage to the base vehicle electrics. You should never see more than 14.5v and 14.2v is usual. Its very high hence my concern
Not too secret:All sorted there's a secret code for dealerships apparently...once that's been entered it fixed the problem
Yep I know .....and like I said it wasn't happening last week ...the only thing changed is the panel I fitted the other day ... so im going to swap the panels over again tomorrow just to see if it still does it.It's so high that you run the risk of overheating the starter battery if you use the van. Yep i know its coming from the alternator ...the question is why ? And why now when it was fine last week.17.5 volts is to much only way you can get that high is from the alternator if it was changed recently i would be taking it back
Tomorrow's another day Tam,,sure things will pick up..BUSBY.Well what a day I've had ....took me over an hour to get the snapped bolt out tye subframe....got that side built back up but can't get replacement bolts till tomorrow....stripped down the other side same thing happened took me till nearly 7pm to get everything replaced but I need two new bolts for the ball joint arms so I lost a night's work tonight ...

F@%k my life!!! Honestly....i just can't take anymore.....its like 1 step forward and 2 steps back.
You couldn't make it up ....my home is an absolute riot ....ive a sink stripped out ...the mirror and bathroom cabinet is lying in the cab .....the alternator has packed in ...the ebl is still knackered everywhere I turn things are breaking or causing problems ...im seriously losing the will to live
I've had it with this bloody van its either jinxed or the universe is trying to tell me something.
Hymer can go and kiss my ass ive nevet had a van give me so much trouble and ive had some right old bangers.....i don't think I'm ever going to get away this year and to be honest I'm so on edge of whats going to break next i seriously wonder if its a good idea anyway....so yeah if you can't tell ...i am seriously peed off with this pile of shite
I've known car alternators die when left unused over winter not that uncommon. But its very weird for it to suddenly start playing up especially as the van has been parked up since December and only been out on the road 3 short journeys since.
