Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

Personally Tam , if I was planning to be traveling,(which thankfully I'm not) I would be getting my dogs the titre test at the earliest opportunity , in case there were any hic-cups.
If it is not needed, shrug and put it down to experience, at least you would know the dogs were covered where ever and whenever you planned to go.
I had thought of that but its too late for this year now as I plan to leave here around 1st 2nd September...

If nothing will change regarding re entry to UK I should be OK as I will already be in europe before anything has changed.

Ok, fair point at this stage, I guess but if you are going outside Europe in your extended travels ie.Morroco, I think you need the titre test to get back into Europe.
Although I follow your posts avidly, my geography is lousy so not sure where your extended travels are taking you.

You would not make a living working as a diver then...
Completely different they use a pressurised face mask that requires no effort to breath whereas breathing in/out with a mask does.
Guys help!!

Getting no answer on this thread and I'm panicking here .....

Am I going to need this blood test for returning to UK in march? I can't have dogs in quarantine for months
There is no requirement for a titre test to enter the UK. Nor is there ever likely to be.It is needed to enter Europe from a third country .I.E returning from Morocco or , as it stands at the moment entering the EU from the UK after 2020.

No it isn't as you don't need it to exit UK in september or even t enter the EU

Northernraider
Did you buy a kit for the sog or put it together yourself ?
I bought a kit ...someone selling it on ebay new and unused so I got a bargain...about half the normal price

NAG, NAG, NAG 😐😁
Tam, you wouldn't drive Toby around without an MOT or with worn brake pads, why oh why don't you make an effort to keep the dog's vaccinations up to date?
You probably need to check their other vaccinations too (At the back of their passports), as they should be done annually. Leptospirosis is still a common killer, even in the UK.
Sorry to nag but it is important especially as they love to eat rubbish and play in and around water (common area for rats to inhabit).
NAG over!😊

Aye but the problem with adopting Spanish dogs at different times meant their vaccinations are 5 months apart.
Due to lockdown I couldn't get them done earlier .. and now on advice of vet they said to leave both dogs till 1 month before i was due to travel and get both done then so I have maximum time on the length of vaccinations

The Spanish ones are yearly compared to the 3 year ones in uk passports

Next year I may switch them to British passports but was advised by vet not to at the minute.

You should get the Titre test done regardless of when you travel.
We had it for G and she passed so altho we didn’t need it for 2019 nor 2020 it was in place for later on when we might need it.
Having the Titre test done now will not stop you travelling in Sept as at present we don’t need it but you may need it on return. So go and get it now.

I wont need it till my next trip so no point getting it done now ....they would need their vaccinations done then the bloods taken a good few weeks later by which point I'll be ready to leave.

Not required for this trip so no point In stressing the dogs out anymore before travelling ...they don't like needles.

My Spanish dog has six months difference with her vaccinations from my Scottish one too Tam but even with me having virtually no short term memory (due to my MS) I still manage to keep their vaccinations up to date because it is important to me.
Tho my van canbe/is sorely neglected!
The "stuff used for the rabies jags in Spain and the UK is the same, it is just that dogs that are resident in Spain are required to have the injection annually due to them being deemed at greater risk of infection from strays and wildlife that may be infected.
If circumstances were such that you had to have one of the pups vaccinated against rabies while you were in Spain but then returned to the UK, that vaccination would still be valid for three years in UK.
The trouble with letting them lapse is that you have to start a new course each time (two lots of injections) so it is more stressful and more expensive.
Lass, my collie had her Rabies and her leptospirosis jags in April this year and I had a few cents change from €15 !!!
Bet you can't beat that in the UK. 🤣

I had jade vaccinated against rabies in November BUT because its a Spanish passport it expires again this November
Unfortunately the passport check in France only goes by the date stamped on the passport so still only valid one year ....hence why vet advised getting them both done at same time 1 month before I travel

But as you say the vaccines have covered the dogs from catching anything its just a passport requirement

New control panel arrived today ....thats another £290 Toby has sucked out of me ....but hopefully solve a few problems.

So its fitted , time and date set , battery capacity set and hooked up to 240v so it can set itself up. Will see how it works out once its done all that.

That document was last updated in October 2019! As pet owenrs we need to know a.s.a.p. what category the U.K. will be in so that we can make plans. Vets are likely to be inundated if it is left much longer as, according to this document, if we are an unlisted country, then we must wait 3 months from the date the successful blood sample was taken before you can travel. It's the usual shambles from this government.
It isn't really up to the UK Government. Like any other agreement with the EU it will need to be negotiated and probably (and reasonably) isn't at the top of the list. If nothing was happening, and we were back to the days before the EU existed, you would have had to check the rules for entry to each country you were about to visit. You can do the same now. As it is if no preferential treatment for the UK has been agreed before you intend to travel simply assume the requirements are the same as if you were travelling from Morocco. The good thing is that whatever happens the requirements for re-entry are very unlikely to be affected.

As seems to be the norm whenever I do anything on toby ...nothing is straight forward ..fitted the new control panel but it isnt displaying my solar ...nor us the eis frost protection showing on panel but did on the old one 🤦‍♂️ will have to phone apuljack in the morning and ask.

So another £300 for a refurbished ebl 101
Can't find a brand new one anywhere so refurbished is the best I can get.
A&n will send me one and then if I send them my old one they will give me £50 back for it ....( pretty much covers postage both ways) or I could sell it I suppose stating it needs charging relay replaced. As it works every other way only alternator charging not working.

Anyway I should have it by Tuesday and hopefully thats that.

Booked in a week on Tuesday for cambelt change , brake fluid change and clutch master cylinder change as it has a small leak.
