Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

Oh ye of little faith!!
Ask DBK what he thinks, he could maybe point you in the direction of someone to help.
No-one would be looking for a grammatically correct text book .
Part of the charm is the way you express yourself .
Don't sell yourself short.

You can get software these days which is very good at picking up grammatical and style errors. Too good at times as they can pick up so much it takes ages to correct everything. I use ProWritingAid and was horrified when I put my already published first book through it. Took me many weeks to sort everything out. They go much deeper than the tools you get with say Word. For example it will pick up instances of sentences close together starting with same word and pick up over-used words.

Maybe that's not the way for you Tam,but it's worth doing a bit of research.

Even a book without words, just saying where and what it is, A4 size or bigger.

If you do, I would buy a copy, so let me know.

I’ve known people put a book with just views of places in the bathroom or visitor’s bedroom.

You have some beautiful pictures that would give people a lot of pleasure.

We've just had a walk around the lovely park grounds of the plaza.

I love these big trees

On the book theme - if you like to have a hardcopy record of your trip, you could always stand for one of those photobooks - ok, not cheap but you'd always have them to look at in your dotage when the phone has gone fizzle splut.

Similar to you Tam, I am drawn to the coast when in Spain but as you've shown us in your photos, the best of Spain is often found inland away the resorts, bars and holiday makers. Not saying Seville and other great Spanish cities aren't full of tourists (as often they are) but there's a feeling of being closer to the real Spain and its culture in these places which the coastal towns and cities don't deliver. Of course there are exceptions but Spains imperial cities really engage the mind in my experience. As others have said, some really great photos, keep them coming!

Carmona is just a few miles East of Seville on the road to Cordoba, free park just outside the gates overlooking an old Roman bridge, Roman necropolis on the other side of town, nice bars in the central square of the old town, old walls etc....well worth a night stop and a look round.

I like inland but I can only ever manage a few days away from the coast....I find it's too warm also ...it's been 38° today and no shade where I'm parked so the van is hot.

I'm moving tomorrow but not sure where , but I'd like water somewhere for the dogs and preferably trees for some shade lol

That's the beauty of motorhome living.. you can mix it up, stay as long as you like and move wherever you want - it's a WIN WIN WIN in my book ??

Can recommend Isla Crista on the western edge of Spain before you cross into Portugal.Nice town and miles and miles of sandy quiet beaches.BUSBY.

Doesn't do it for me Tam, although obviously if one was actually there it may feel very different.

I see these buggers are still causing problems

Love Seville, had 4 or 5 visits and never been when it's not HOT, :Eeek:last time was 1st June 37c we never went in ;) found a nice tapas bar and they did large beers, left the next day. :pop:

Where we parked, got chatting to a young German couple in a high top VW saying I bet it's hot in the roof, they said not to bad, we have a big roof light and 2 windows, we said the bar doesn't shut until 2am.:Eeek:
I put my ear plugs in, told the next morning it was 6am.:D2 Bob.

Did you do El Roccio last year on your way to Portugal, if not, a must see.

In case we forget, if you are anywhere near us on your travels north through Portugal you must stop at the aire in our village, Barril de Alva, near a
Oliveira do Hospital, love to chat over a drink or two.

I did visit el Roccio last year ?
I will be in barril de Alva as that's where I'm viewing the bit land for sale but I'm not sure when that will be as I plan to spend a bit of time lazing around the Algarve this time

There’s quite a few bits of land for sale now in this area, some couldn't make it after losing everything in the fires two years ago.

We love this area, good walking area too. Talk about walking areas, when in the Algarve, visit the Camperstop at Sao Bartolomeu de Messines, it’s north of Albufeira. A Dutch couple set it up as a campsite/aire, you probably don’t want to go on campsites, like us, but wild camping is not so easy in the Algarve anymore. There is good walking there too. They have done a nice job, kept it casual, you might get some ideas from it.

If you travel up the east side, take a look at Mina Sao Domingo, it used to be an old copper mine, you can wander around the derelict site, it’s quite interesting. Also another lovely spot to stay is the aire at Monseraz. The aire is up on the hill with 360 degrees views over the Alqueva dam, not sure of spellings here, sorry. Then take a walk up into the village.

Another place on your way up is Fatima, if not been before its quite moving, light a candle if you feel the urge.

Let us know when you get to our area.

Enjoy yourself.

'lazing around the Algarve..' - one of my favourite pastimes, love southern Portugal. So much so that I struggle to see much else of the country which by all accounts is a mistake!

I get the impression Tam that you tend to move quite frequently, I know wild camping is your priority but maybe it's worth spending 6 euros (or thereabouts) a night and stay at an aire in say Albufeira, Alvor or Lagos. That way you can park comfortably for a period of time without feeling the need to move on. You can explore the area but also have some 'static' time.

I move a lot when I'm travelling but on reflection, possibly too much. Staying put for a while not only provides an opportunity to slow down and recharge but also gives your mind a rest from the focus of travel itself. Sometimes it's good just to let the days take care of themselves ?
