As you mentioned being told off by her a few posts ago...
How is your Mum doing these days?
As far as im aware she's doing well , gaining weight and slowly regaining her mobility ....But I know my mother so I know she tells me what I want to hear so I don't worry about her.
Her lifestyle has changed though where she used to be up till midnight watching all the programs she had recorded off tv she's now in bed at 9pm etc
But I speak to her every other day and she seems to be ok ....if a little forgetful etc I often get told the same thing twice and again the next time we speak lol

are you going to go to the coast past Tarifa? -might be busy now i suppose when we were there in March there were some lovely spots by the sea
one of my favourite places

Yes I'll probably stick to the coast now till I reach Portugal...But in no rush

In algeciras neat the beach ....for being so near the port it's impressive how clean this beach is and how crystal clear the water is. Handy weespot for parking too under the trees ...although Toby seriously needs a wash especially the roof.

It’s a shame you didn’t head inland today. The biggest market in Portugal is held in Barcelos every Thursday.
A bit hot today for it though.

Yeah I did braga last year ...bom jesus was impressive.

Well that was a nightmare but fortunately it turned out ok.

Nipped out with the dogs for a pee closed the hab door behind me ...came back to van and the doors locked ....
Ever since the lock started playing up when I headed to France it's been temperamental but some time if you slam the door it locks without key .

Everything locked on the van and keys inside. Luckily my wee hatch below the toilet was unlocked and I keep pliers in there for taps with no handles.

I then had to go up on the roof remove the star washers from the main skylight and drop in through the roof to open the door.

It solved the immediate problem thankfully but has now made me aware just how easy it is to get in to a hymer

So be aware ....2 minutes and I was in

Oops, but fortunately happy ending - barring your warning! - So our beloved Hymers aren't much better than Trannies? Oh woe and thrice woe.
Regarding your iffy habitation door lock- whilst waiting in the early morning queue to board the ferry on my very first trip out here, I stepped outside the van to see if there was any movement at the loading ramp. As I did so, Lass, my highly intelligent collie, not wanting to miss any of the action reached from her travelling position on the seat behind my driving seat overthe back of the drivers seat and put a paw firmly on the locking dooda of the door. Thereby locking me out of the van!
Fortunately two vehicles ahead of me was "white van man", I had been talking with him earlier so I rushed to him for help.
Equally fortunately I had left the top of my window open.
He quipped "I know it's our first date and I don't want to seem forward but when I put my foot on the wheel and spring up,you get under my a***and support me"
This I willingly did and as luck would have it he was just able to get his arm through the gap above the window and reach the door lever.
As I opened the door, the vehicles ahead started to move and those behind to honk impatiently. Since that day, wherever I go, whatever I am wearing I have a key to the habitation door somewhere about my person. I do not leave the van without it .
Thank goodness I never wear a bikini! :ROFLMAO:

The downside now of course is my van is full of bugs and tiny flies that got in off the roof while I was getting in . The roof is minging and covered in tree debri because I've been parking under trees to try and get shade ? first time I've seen a spider since I left the UK
